미혼취업자의 여가시간 및 영향요인 연구 (Leisure Time of Unmarried Workers and Influencing Factors)

  • This study explores how unmarried workers use their leisure time according to the 2009 Korean Time Use Survey. The purposes of this study are: 1) to investigate leisure time as it relates to leisure participation rates and leisure participation time and 2) to analyze the effect of socio-demographic variables on leisure time and leisure participation by unmarried workers. The following is a summary of the major findings. First, leisure participation differed with variations in leisure activities. Unmarried workers participated in media contact, human relations activities, and hobby activities more than other activities. Participation in learning activities was higher on weekdays than on Sunday. Men participated in sports and outdoor activities more than women on Sundays. The participation rate of media contact was the highest, while the participation rate of volunteer activities was the lowest. Second, influencing factors on leisure time included gender, age, monthly income, and gender role attitudes when work time was controlled. For example, unmarried workers with egalitarian attitudes spent less leisure time. Third, gender was the strongest determinant of leisure participation. The probability of women's leisure participation was higher than men except in regards to sports and outdoor activities, and hobby activities.

노인의 여가활동참여 결정요인에 관한 연구 (The Factors Influenced Leisure Activities Participation in the Elderly)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting leisure activities participation in the elderly. The factors considered were leisure opportunities, leisure motivation, leisure satisfaction and some background variables. Subjects were 291 elderly persons who completed the questionnaire assessing the variables in the study. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Leisure activities participation of the elderly was affected by leisure opportunities, leisure motivation, leisure satisfaction, gender, and education. 2) Leisure satisfaction influenced by leisure opportunities, motivation, health, and financial condition. 3) Leisure opportunities and motivation had effects on leisure activities participation indirectly via leisure satisfaction. 4) Also, status of health and financial condition of the elderly had an indirect effect on leisure activities participation via leisure motivation.

성별에 따른 여가생활에 관한 연구 (A Study on Leisure Life in Accordance with Gender)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic information necessary for improving the satisfaction and quality of leisure life and thereon propose better leisure life programs in accordance with gender. For the purpose, this researcher made a questionnaire survey of 560 persons between July and December 2003 to know the trend and satisfaction of their leisure life in accordance with their gender. Results of the study can be summarized as below; First. the extent to which the surveyed persons participated in leisure life was highest in terms of other leisure activities, followed by self-development. viewing activities, sports activities and journey in order. The satisfaction of leisure life participation by those surveyed persons was scored 3 or over in average, meaning 'generally satisfied'. The time of leisure life participation was most spent in other leisure activities and self-development. Expenses of the participation were highest in terms of other leisure activities. followed by self-development and viewing activities in order. Second, differences in sub-areas of leisure life were analyzed in accordance with gender to show that the degree and time of participation in viewing activities and self-development, expenses of sports activity participation and the degree of participation in journey and others were significantly different between the opposite sexes which were surveyed here. Men were higher in the degree, time and expenses of the participation than women. Third. effects of gender on the satisfaction of leisure life as a whole were determined here to show that men were higher in such satisfaction when they were more satisfactorily participating in sport activities while in case of women, when they were spending more time in sport activities. Women showed a higher satisfaction of leisure life as a whole when they were more frequently and satisfactorily participating in other leisure activities. Based on these results, the researcher proposed effective leisure life programs in accordance with gender.

노인의 여가제약, 여가활동참여와 생활만족도의 관계 분석 (A Study of Leisure Constraints, Leisure Activities Participation and Life Satisfaction of the Elderly)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out leisure constraints of the elderly and to examine how these constraints influence their participation in leisure activities and life satisfaction. The data analysis of 291 senior citizens over 60 years old were conducted, the research results are as follows: first, leisure constraints of senior citizens stem from individual, societal, economic, family constraints. It indicates that anyone of constraints did not exclusively determine leisure constraints. Rather, the result implies that leisure constraints for the elderly is from multifaceted levels of social system. Second, participation in leisure activities positively worked on life satisfaction. Third, leisure constraints of the elderly directly influenced their participation in leisure activities and life satisfaction. In conclusion, to revitalize senior citizens' participation in leisure activities is critical in advancing their life satisfaction. Nationwide positive and supportive social environment for their leisure participation should be established first, on which social and legal systems should be consequently organized. At the same time, social supports to provide opportunities for their leisure participation are required for the future senior citizens.

A Study of Stroke Patients' Leisure Activities and Quality of Life

  • This study was conducted in order to examine relationship between stroke patients' degree of satisfaction with leisure and quality of life according to their leisure activity types and whether they conducted leisure activities. A direct survey was performed from April 8 to May 3, 2013 on 92 inpatients and outpatients who received occupational therapy at hospitals located in Jeonju and Gunsan. A frequency analysis was carried out in order to look at the general characteristics of the subjects, their degree of participation in leisure activities, and their degree of satisfaction with leisure activities. A Pearson's coefficient was used to examine relationship between their degree of satisfaction and quality of life according to participation in leisure activities. Their degree of satisfaction according to participation in leisure activities was significantly higher when they took part in leisure activities such as handicraft activities, sports activities, or travel or tourism activities than when they did not perform any leisure activities. Their quality of life according to participation in leisure activities was higher when they conducted sports activities, outing activities, or tourism activities than when they did not. There was significant correlation between their degree of satisfaction with leisure and quality of life according to leisure activities.

  • The purpose of this empirical study is to examine the factors affecting the leisure attitudes and the participation level of leisure activities of middle- and old-aged homemakers and the relationship between the leisure attitudes and their participation level of leisure activities. The samples were composed of 264 married women over 40 years old, selected by age and local distribution. The major findings of this study are as follows. The more the middle- and old-aged women show the positive behavioral leisure attitude, the more actively they participated leisure activities. Also, the economic factor of the samples was the most significant factor to affect the leisure attitudes and the participation level of leisure activities. The findings of this study provide some implications regarding the policies on the leisure facilities and leisure education programs to enhance the quality of life of the middle- and old-aged homemakers.

장애인의 여가활동참여와 여가만족, 삶의 질과의 관계 (Correlates of the Participation of Leisure Activities, Leisure Satisfaction, and Quality of Life among Disabled People)

  • 본 연구는 장애인의 여가활동참여가 여가만족과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 여가활동참여와 삶의 질과의 관계에서 여가만족의 매개효과를 분석하기 위해, 장애인복지관을 이용하는 장애인 192명을 대상으로 설문자료를 수집 하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS를 활용하여 분석하였으며, 분석결과, 체육관련활동, 여행관련활동, 사회참여활동이 장애인의 여가만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 장애인의 삶의 질은 체육관련활동, 여행관련활동, 문화예술활동, 사회참여활동이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나, 적극적 여가활동 유형이 여가만족과 삶의 질에 영향을 미치는 것으로 해석되었다. 또한, 장애인의 연령, 교육, 경제수준, 장애등급을 통제한 후, 여가활동참여가 여가만족과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 여가활동참여는 여가만족과 삶의 질에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 제시되었으며, 장애인의 여가활동참여와 삶의 질과의 관계에 여가만족은 통계적으로 유의한 부분매개효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과바탕으로, 장애인의 여가활동과 여가만족과 관련된 삶의 질 증진을 위한 함의 및 후속연구를 위한 방향을 제시하였다.

Factors Affecting the Participation in Leisure Activities by Elderly Women Living Alone

  • Purpose: The study has been conducted to identify factors affecting the participation in leisure activities by elderly women living alone. Methods: Data were collected through a questionnaire survey among 150 elderly women in Seoul and Gyeong-gi Province. The measurement tools that were used include participation in leisure activities, perceived health status, Geriatric Depression Scale Short Form-Korea (GDSS-K), psychological well-being scale, and loneliness scale. The data were analyzed by using the Pearson correlation coefficients, t-test, analysis of variance ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression with the SPSS/windows version 21.0 program. Results: The analysis shows that the affection for participation in leisure activities of the elderly women living alone who participated in the questionnaire survey is significant (F=14.6, p<.001). The value of the adjusted $R^2$ is 0.55, which accounts for the explanatory power of 55.4%. The predictor that has been found to have the greatest influence on the participation in leisure activities by the elderly women living alone include perceived health status, followed by monthly allowance (10,000 won), psychological well-being, economic status, religion, depression, family structure, and loneliness. Conclusion: The results suggest that in developing nursing interventions and practice for the participation in leisure activities by elderly women living alone, perceived health status, psychological well-being, depression, and loneliness should be considered.

초등학교 아동의 여가활동 참여와 여가인식 -아동과 어머니에 대한 심층면접을 중심으로- (Children동s Participation and Perception of Leisure Activities -Focusing on in-depth interviews with children and their mothers-)

  • The purposes of this study are to examine the participation of leisure activities for elementary school children and to analyze the children's and their mother's perception about their leisure activities. The data for the analysis are collected by the structured questionnaire and in-depth interview, The data for 106 children and their mothers living in Incheon city are analyzed using descriptive statistics and content analysis. The result of this study is summarized as follows: First, the most frequent leisure activities participated by children were hobby and culture activities such as attending institutes or receiving private tutoring. The most prefer leisure activities of children were computer related activities, watching TV and playing with friends According to the in-depth interview, these activities contributed to getting rid of stress and relaxing tension. Second, among the various activities, children tented to perceive computer related activities, roller-binding, paper folding, reading and watching TV as the leisure activities. There was no significant difference in the perception of leisure activities between mother and children except paper folding and reading. Third, the 55.7% of mother responded that the leisure activities that they were participated in childhood were more desirable compared with their children's ones.

노인의 여가참여유형에 따른 생활만족도의 (Differences in Life Satisfaction by Leisure Participation Types of the Elderly)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore a typology of leisure participation, investigate determinants of leisure participation types, and analyze differences in life satisfaction by the types of leisure participation of the elderly. The data source for this research was the 2014 Time Use Survey conducted by the Korea National Statistical office (KNSO). The statistical methods for the analysis were mean, standard deviation, ANOVA, Duncan test, cluster analysis, and logistic regression analysis. Leisure participation were classified into five types based on five categories; social activities, religious activities, media, sports, time-spending activity. The five types were named "general", "insufficient", "religious oriented", "media oriented", and sports oriented" type. Gender, health condition were identified as important determinants for the types. Life satisfaction was different according to leisure participation type of the elderly. Religious oriented type showed the highest score of life satisfaction and media oriented type showed the lowest.
