  • This study was conducted to evaluate needs and intention of hospitals and clinics to join network with private health insurance, and to discover obstacles of participation of the networks. We carried out the questionnaire survey of the network managers of 236 medical institutions between December 27th, 2005 and January 25th, 2006. The result showed that the participation intention of network were different to the type of hospitals. Primary care clinics answered that participation intention and possibility were low. Secondary care hospitals was relatively affirmative regarding a network participation. Tertiary hospitals responded that they need the network with private health insurance, but participation possibility was lower than needs. The reason is that they worried about the side effect of the network with private health insurance. Depending on the type of hospitals, expected benefits from networking with private health insurance were different. We found that hospitals which already had affiliation with other hospitals answered in the affirmative regarding the network with private health insurance. In conclusion, to increase the effectiveness of network systems between hospital and private health insurance, the network is expected to consider different needs of the each hospital.

  • Factors for promoting the resident participation in mountain villages are suggested to introduce the activity-oriented program of green tourism using a multinomial logit model(MNLM). Direct surveying, using a structured questionnaire was performed on local residents in the different types of rural tourism villages such as mountain villages, agricultural themed villages, and the mixed types of villages. The MNLM revealed that participation intention in the program was significantly higher for males, those with lower education, and residents in mountain villages. The participation intention of the program had a negative relationship with the increase of expected problems not from the program itself, but from the results of the program such as income distribution and nature destruction. Participation intention also increased with the indirect effects of an investment by the Village Development Project, such as local cooperativeness, public mind, etc. It was suggested that to introduce the activity-oriented program in mountain villages, negative effects from the results had to be minimized, and positive effects from the indirect changes between local residents had to be maximized through better communication and policy endeavors.

  • This study investigated the effects of 'K-POP' preference on purchase intention of Korean products. Especially, it revealed the mediating role between the participation intention of Korean culture event and the purchase intention of Korean products. Further, we examined the difference in the path relation according to the use-behavior of Korean wave contents. In this proposed model, we can see 'K-POP' preference had a positive effect on participation intention of Korean culture event, but it was not significant for purchase intention of common products. The participation in Korean culture event had significant effects on the purchase intention of Korean culture products and the purchase intention of common products. However, the purchase intention of Korean culture products had no significant effects on the purchase intention of common products. Thus, our finding showed that higher preference of 'K-POP' did not make cause purchase intention of common products. Further, the higher the preference of 'K-POP' was, the higher the participation intension of Korean culture event was and, as a result, the purchase intention of common products got higher. In addition, path analysis results according to the media usage behaviors show that Chinese consumer who uses the internet and has a higher preference of 'K-POP' had a positive effect on the purchase intention of common products. Furthermore, it has a positive effect on both purchase intension of Korean culture products and purchase intension of common products.
