  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship between politicians' YouTube information service quality, politician's image and trust, and voters' social and political participation intentions. To investigate this, 306 voters were sampled through an online survey. The quality factors of the politician's YouTube information service were found to have a positive effect on the image of a politician. Among them, timeliness and reliability had a positive effect on the trust of politicians, but playfulness did not. Both the image and trust of politicians through YouTube were found to have a positive effect on voters' intention to participate in society and politics. As a result of examining the indirect effect, it was found that the image of a politician had an indirect effect on the quality of information service and the intention to participate in society and politics. This study is significant in revealing that the fact that the image and trust of politicians is a major variable that appeals to citizens' social and political participation is also applicable to YouTube.

  • According to recent government forecasts, universities face a critical situation, due to a reduction in the number of students and a decrease in tuition income. To respond to the changed population structure and the 4th Industrial Revolution, the government is supporting universities in reorganizing the structure of academics and curricula focused on lifelong education. Considering this, this study analyzed the correlation between intention to participate in lifelong education and learning outcomes oriented to workers involved in shipping and port logistics in the Port of Gwangyang and Yeosu, who are participating or have participated in lifelong education. To expand the opportunities for participation in the lifelong education of adult learners and form a learning culture, it is necessary to analyze the intention to participate in lifelong education and how participants identify their learning outcomes. According to the analysis results, the goal orientation of intention to participate in learning has a significant influence on individual features of learning outcomes, and learning orientation has a significant influence on the social characteristics of learning outcomes. Moreover, learning outcomes and the learning orientation of the intention to participate in learning have a significant influence on the intention to continue learning. In particular, the results showing that learning outcomes reflect individual changes and that interests obtained as a product of learning influence the intention to continue learning are highly suggestive.

  • This study analyzed domestic consumers' perceptions of and participation in consumer boycotts and its relation to ethical consumerism by surveying 1,000 people aged 20 or more with an on-line questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed in terms of frequency, factor analyses, cluster analysis, ${\chi}^2$, and one-way analysis of variance. The research findings are summarized as follows. First, consumers had an average (or higher) perception level of consumer boycotts and were categorized into consumer boycott groups of pursuit of self-realization, achievement of results, and pursuit of rationality according to perception patterns of consumer boycotts. Second, the consumer boycott group of self-realization exhibited a high intention for participation in economic and ethical consumer boycotts and was active in all aspects compared to other groups; in addition, the consumer boycott group of results achievement was in the lowest level of ethical consumerism with a low intention for participation in consumer boycotts and ethical consumer boycotts along with the lowest perception level for consumer boycotts as ethical consumption. The consumer boycott group of rational pursuit was comparatively skeptical about the influence of consumer boycotts and with a low level of deontological ethical consumerism. They had additional doubts about the effectiveness of consumer boycotts despite being active participants. The study contributes to the establishment of an ethical consumer behavior theory by investigating connections between the perception patterns of and participation in consumer boycotts as well as ethical consumerism as consumer boycotts conceptually expand as a form of ethical consumption.

  • This study aimed to identify the effects of sports participation motives, the involvement in choosing sportswear, and the satisfaction with/perceived importance of sportswear functionality, on customers' repurchase intentions. A total of 185 survey questionnaires were analyzed after surveying 200 female undergraduates in their 20s. The research results are as follows. First, the participation motives for sports were categorized as follows. A factor analysis conducted on 13 questions yielded 4 factors. Factor 1 included consideration about socializing and pleasure, factor 2 privileged ostentation, factor 3 was concerned with enhancing health, and factor 4 was about maintaining appearance. Second, the various effects of different sports participation motives, of the satisfaction with functionality, and of the involvement in buying sportswear on customers' repurchase intentions were analyzed. The intention to repurchase sportswear was considered as a dependent variable, while the motives for participating in sports, the satisfaction with functionality, and the level of involvement were treated as independent variables. A multiple regression analysis using these variables showed that the satisfaction with functionality and involvement in choosing sportswear had a significant impact on the intention to repurchase sportswear. Third, looking at how different participation motives for sports affected the importance of sportswear functionality, the motives related to socializing and pleasure and ostentation, the sub-factors in sports participation motives, significantly increased the importance of comfort. Motives related to enhancing health and maintaining appearance, on the other hand, were found to affect the importance of sports performance. Fourth, a MANOVA was performed to examine the difference in the importance of functionality between those consumers highly involved in sportswear-buying and those less involved. Those with a high level of involvement were found to prioritize sports performance over comfort. Those with a low level of involvement were shown to place a greater emphasis on comfort.
