Partial oxidation of methane was carried out by ceria-promoted Ni-substituted hydrotalcite-derived catalysts ($Ce_xNi_3$-HTlc ; x=$0.3{\sim}1.2$) in a fixed-bed reactor. The Ce/Ni ratio of 0.3/3 in the catalyst showed the best catalytic activity but the Ce/Ni ratio became higher above 0.3/3, the catalyst became less active in short-term tests. No ceria promoted catalyst was started to decrease $CH_4$ conversion after 20 h but the Ce/Ni ratio 0.3/3 catalyst was kept its stability in long-term tests.
Five paraplegic dogs were diagnosed with thoracolumbar intervertebral disc disease with more than 50% compression of spinal cord. Because the lesions were determined to be disc extrusion on magnetic resonance imaging, a hemilaminectomy was initially performed, however, protruded discs were confirmed during surgery. To remove the protruded disc, modified partial lateral corpectomy (mini-PLC) was additionally performed. All dogs recovered to full ambulation within a median of 44 days without temporary deterioration or vertebral instability. Mini-PLC as described here enables successful removal of the protruded disc, while preserving vertebral stability in dogs for whom the use of hemilaminectomy is inevitable.
A reliability model of Level II AFDA is developed to analyze the stability of armor units on the sloped coastal structures. Additionally, the partial safety factors of random variables related to armor units can be straightforwardly evaluated by applying the inverse-reliability method in which influence coefficients and uncertainties of random variables, and target probability of failure are combined directly. In particular, a design equation for armor units is derived in terms of the same criteria as deterministic design method in order to apply the reliability-based design method of Level I without some understanding to the reliability analysis. Finally, it is confirmed that several results redesigned by the reliability-based design method of Level I have satisfactorily agreement with results of CEM as well as those of Level II AFDA.

Ridge regression (RR), principal component regression (PCR) and partial least squares regression (PLS) are among popular regression methods for collinear data. While RR adds a small quantity called ridge constant to the diagonal of X'X to stabilize the matrix inversion and regression coefficients, PCR and PLS use latent variables derived from original variables to circumvent the collinearity problem. One problem of PCR and PLS is that they are very sensitive to overfitting. A new regression method is presented by combining RR and PCR and PLS, respectively, in a unified manner. It is intended to provide better predictive ability and improved stability for regression models. A real-world data from NIR spectroscopy is used to investigate the performance of the newly developed regression method.
A computational method for the dynamic analysis of a constrained mechanical system is presented in this paper. The partial velocity matrix, which is the null space of the Jacobian of the constraint equations, is used as the key ingredient for the derivation of reduced equations of motion. The acceleration constraint equations are solved simultaneously with the equations of motion. Thus, the total number of equations to be integrated is equivalent to that of the pseudo generalized coordinates, which denote all the variables employed to describe the configuration of the system of concern. Two well-known conventional methods are briefly introduced and compared with the present method. Three numerical examples are solved to demonstrate the solution accuracy, the computational efficiency, and the numerical stability of the present method.
This research introduces the manufacturing process of the metal-framework of one of the maxillary partial dentures, the "obturator", using milling wax-blocks, for patients with palate loss due to oral cancer. It explains the protocol of taking the patient's oral impression, preparation of a working cast, scanning, designing using a computer-aided design program, investing the milling wax-blocks, and completing the obturator. This method does not follow the traditional wax and agar process thereby reducing the errors arising during the manufacturing process and decreasing the time, material, and labor required. Moreover, the retention, stability, and compatibility of the metal framework were observed to be high in both the working cast and oral cavity.

As an effort to achieve sustainable development and increase people's welfare, financial inclusion has become the policy agenda of many countries. Therefore, the effect of financial inclusion on economic growth, poverty, income inequality, and financial stability in several countries in Asia has become the goal and this is the subject of this study. Financial inclusion is measured by 3 dimensions, namely banking penetration, access to banking services, and use of banking services. Poverty ratio below the national poverty line and the Gini coefficient are used as indicators of poverty and income inequality. Financial stability is measured by Bank Z-Score and bank nonperforming loans. The results from the hypothesis test shows that all dimensions of financial stability simultaneously have significant influence on economic growth, poverty, income inequality, and financial stability. On the other hand, the partial impact of financial inclusion dimension on economic growth, poverty alleviation, income inequality, and financial stability in ten countries of Asia has not been optimal. The derived results of this study is required to be interpreted and considered by the Governments of each country in developing strategies for increasing financial inclusion, so that the policy to achieve sustainable development and enhancement of people's welfare can be achieved.

Experimental investigations were conducted to examine the combustion characteristics of a swirl-stabilized double cone premixed burner nozzle used for industrial gas turbines for power generation. Several variants with different fuel injection patterns are tested to compare the combustion characteristics such as NOx and CO emissions, stability, and wall temperature distributions. Main results show that NOx emissions and stability are decreased either when the fuel hole diameter is decreased with the same number of fuel holes, or when the number of fuel holes is reduced with the same total area of fuel holes, both of which are due to a higher penetration of fuel into the air stream. Not only is NOx reduced but also stability is enhanced when the fuel hole diameter varies in an alternating manner with the same total area of fuel holes, showing that NOx reduction is due to a higher penetration of mean fuel injection path while stability enhancement is due to a lowered penetration of minimum fuel injection path.
Abutment teeth supporting removable partial denture could be faced a number of problems including development of dental caries. If the existing removable partial denture is in clinically acceptable state and the patient does not want to replace the existing removable partial denture, then a new prosthesis for abutment teeth need to be made. The procedure of fabricating a new prosthesis of abutment teeth for existing removable partial denture is complicate and technically challenging. To fabricate the abutment crown, the original cast of patient obtained before any complication to the abutment teeth is required. The original cast should also contain teeth other than the abutment teeth as a reference point. Once the cast is prepared, CAD/CAM could be used to produce retrofitting prosthesis effortlessly and efficiently. This clinical report presents fabricating a crown to fit existing removable partial denture using CAD/CAM for a patient with post and core failure and dislodged prosthesis. The prosthesis had high stability with minimum adjustment yielding satisfying result.
In the case of a patient with a small number of unilateral remaining teeth in the mandible, a restoration with conventional removable partial denture cannot provide sufficient retention and resistance. A harmful stress from the poor stability of denture on remaining teeth occurs due to alveolar bone resorption in edentulous area. Although implant fixed prosthesis can provide multiple benefits over conventional removable partial denture, there are limitations come from anatomic structures and costs. In this case, an implant-assisted removable partial denture (IARPD) with a couple of implants placed in strategic positions can be a treatment modality. The objective of this article is to present a case report of two patients showed satisfactory clinical outcomes during three-year follow-up period describing the fabrication and advantages of removable partial denture assisted by teeth and implants (IARPD) for a patient with a small number of unilateral remaining teeth in mandible using Locator as an implant attachment.
