The quality of urban environment where large population reside is becoming more vitally important than ever. Recently the city of Seoul has launched a 'green city' program converting number of city owned lots into urban parks. In this study, we first investigate four recently opened city parks with water ponds in Seoul. This study then classify these parks according to their respective designs, particularly addressing design and environmental impacts by water features. From these exercises, we derive the following interim findings: 1. Design patterns of waterscape is changing. 2. Water in the city park is a major design feature. 3. Design methodology for city parks must be studied further.

Contemporary culture of consumption has been transferred from physical satisfaction in the past to the "pleasure" culture of consumption that satisfies emotional needs, generating a new design category - emotional design. The current study analyzes various environmental design techniques of the theme parks, which recognized early the importance of the "pleasure" culture of consumption and used the techniques for sales and as profit-making tools. This study also examines a trend of emotional design in environmental design techniques of the theme park and proves that the design techniques can be applied to a variety of interior design areas, as well as commercial facilities.mmercial facilities.

Human desire is required to be changed variously as time flows. A theme park which is planned to male a good memory including a variety of story, drama, and experience with one of themes is increasingly and currently broaden to be a good economic value of cultural tourism for the local autonomy institution or individual business. The plan for a theme park should be developed to give the tourist satisfaction at studious and ecology educational needs in conformity with our country's distinctive four seasons, its surrounding environment, facilities, and its contents. This design which is called 'Bear theme park' has only one theme focused on a combined effort with a landscape designer and a sculptor. It is estimated that the park must be our country's unique model of a theme park The purpose of this study is to request the designer's direct construction to participate in it by themselves, to solve any problems on the design side, to experience the real construction procedure, and to take the designer's techniques, and skills as soon as the design completed.

Modern cities are weak in traditional culture with the lack of characteristics and the problem of environmental deterioration. As the important carrier of urban culture, landscape architecture should be responsible for solving these problems. The urban need is paid much attention in the design of South Bank Linear Park in Meizhou city. Following the principle of inheriting and developing urban traditional culture, the design of the whole park is integrated with Hakka culture in Meizhou, which forms the landscape with local features and modern landscape architecture culture, and promotes the urban culture construction.

The purpose of this study, which has been conducted as a government and academic joint project, is to introduce the design, production and installation of the structures exhibited to let people know the meaning the environment-friendly eco-park - Haneul Park that is located in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The exhibition was held as a part of Green Garden Panorama of Seoul Design Fair 2010 and used the stands of Jamsil Sports Complex as the exhibition space. The key contents of the exhibition consist of four elements; firstly, green plants were placed on the first and second floor stands of the complex in order to create the space inside the main stadium as a space that symbolized green environment. Secondly, the usability of the containers of food was maximized to attract the spectator's interest and induce desire to have it. Thirdly, the efforts of the Mapo-gu office for green environment were emphasized using environment-friendly materials. The process and meaning of the transformation of Nanji Island that had been a waste dump site in the past into Haneul Park - an environment-friendly eco-park were expressed by a four-stage space structure. The majority of installations placed in each stage were sold to visitors during the event so as to minimize the generation of wastes after the event.
