영유아를 돌보는 양육자의 방임 및 학대에 영향을 미치는 심리 사회적 요인 탐색 (Exploring Psycho-social Determinants to Child Neglect and Abuse among Caregivers with Young Children)

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to investigate the relations among psycho-social factors regarding child neglect and abuse using the data from the 2013 Korea National Survey on Children and Youth. Methods: Data from a sample of 1,062 primary caregivers with young children were analyzed with the SPSS and AMOS programs to examine the interrelationships among depression, parenting stress, marital satisfaction, parent-child attachment, and child neglect or maltreatment. Results: Depression, stress, and attachment had a direct influence on child neglect and abuse. Satisfaction with marital relationship, parenting stress, and attachment were found to play mediating roles in accounting for child neglect and abuse, explaining 12% of the variance. The results of multi group path analysis showed that some coefficients were different according to the age group of the children. For caregivers with infants, parenting stress did not predict either attachment or child maltreatment, whereas for caregivers with toddlers, depression did not have a significant effect on attachment. Conclusion: In order to prevent child maltreatment, efforts should be made to develop community-based psycho-social support interventions focused on marital relationship as well as parent-child dyads and to provide practical child care support.

Relationship Satisfaction and Emotional Change between Parents and Children through the Agro-Healing Program

  • Background and objective: This study was conducted to investigate the effect of an agro-healing program on the relationship satisfaction and emotional change between parents and children. Methods: We sent an official letter to D Office of Education with information and recruitment for the agro-healing program. Then D Office of Education has sent the official letter to elementary schools under the jurisdiction to recruit parents who were willing to participate in the programs with their children. The subjects were recruited by order of application, and 27 families participated, but 20 parent-child teams who attended all sessions and fully participated in the program were ultimately selected. From October 12 to November 16, 2019, a total of 6 sessions of the programs were held once a week at a care farm in Gyeongsangbuk-do. In the morning, they participated in a program that utilizes the resources of plants and animals in the care farm, and later participated in an indoor horticultural program in the afternoon. Results: In the parent-child relationship satisfaction test, it was found that communication was significantly increased after participating in the agro-healing program (p = .047). There were no statistically significant changes in the sentence completion tests written by the children, but their potential perception or attitude towards their parents changed more positively than before according to the content of the sentences. Conclusion: The agro-healing program could strengthen the relationship between parent and child by improving the parent-child relationship satisfaction and children's emotional attitude towards their parent.

대학생이 지각한 원가족 삼인군 경험이 자아존중감 및 이성관계 만족도에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Primary Triad Experience on Self-Esteem and Dating Relationship Satisfaction among College Students)

  • The major purpose of this study was to investigate the causal effect of the primary triad experiences on dating relationship satisfaction through self-esteem among college students. The primary triad experiences were composed of the parents' differentiation level of couple relationship and the parent-child relationship including family rule, triangulation and communication. Dating relationship satisfaction included such subscales as problem-solving communication, global satisfaction, affection communication and time together. The study data were collected from 382 college students by using self-administered questionnaire method. The results showed that parents' differentiation was positively correlated with self-esteem and all components of dating relationship satisfaction and that family rule was negatively associated only with problem-solving communication. Triangulation was negatively related with most components of dating relationship satisfaction and self-esteem, while parent-child communication showed positive correlations with the same variables. Path analysis results showed that self-esteem mediated the effect of most variables of primary triad experiences on dating relationship satisfaction. In addition, variables of the primary triad experience had direct influences on most components of dating relationship satisfaction. Self-esteem was found to be the most powerful variable influencing dating relationship satisfaction. The findings of the study were discussed in terms of pre-marital education and counseling.

베이비부머의 사회적 지지가 우울감 변화에 미치는 영향 (The Association between Social Support and the Change in Depressive Symptoms among Baby Boomer)

  • 본 연구는 베이비부머의 사회적 지지(배우자 관계 만족도, 자녀 관계 만족도, 사회적 관계 접촉 빈도, 참여모임 수)가 우울감 변화에 미치는 영향과 이에 대한 성별의 차이를 확인하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 고령화연구패널조사(Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging: KLoSA) 5차(2014년)와 6차(2016년) 자료를 활용하여 분석을 시행하였으며, 연구대상은 베이비부머(1955년생부터 1963년생)로 5차와 6차 자료 모두에서 배우자와 자녀가 있다고 응답한 사람이다(N=1,210). 독립변수인 사회적 지지는 배우자 관계 만족도, 자녀 관계 만족도, 사회적 관계 접촉 빈도, 참여모임 수로 측정되었으며, 종속변수는 우울감 변화이다. 시차효과모델을 적용한 회귀식을 통해 우울감 변화를 통계적으로 모형화하였으며, 통제변수의 영향과 사회적 지지의 영향, 성별의 차이에 따른 영향을 단계적으로 탐색하기 위하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 각각의 사회적 지지와 성별의 상호작용항을 투입하여 분석을 실시한 결과, 사회적 지지가 우울감 변화에 미치는 영향에 관한 성별의 차이는 발견되지 않았다. 배우자 관계 만족도와 자녀 관계 만족도는 우울감 변화에 대한 주효과가 발견되었지만 사회적 관계 접촉 빈도와 참여모임 수는 우울감 변화와 통계적으로 유의미한 관련성이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 배우자와 자녀로부터의 지지는 베이비부머의 우울감을 낮추는 데 긍정적으로 작용하였으며, 이러한 경향성은 남성과 여성 베이비부머에게서 동일하게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 다양한 사회적 지지들 중 특히 부부관계와 자녀와의 관계의 질을 향상시키는 것이 베이비부머의 우울감 감소를 위해 중요하다는 것을 시사한다.

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine body satisfaction of children, self-rated health of children and parent-child attachment as perceived by children and their mothers in relation to children's health behavior and to identify factors affecting health behavior of children. Ultimately the purpose of this study was to provide basic data to develop health promotion programs for children. Methods: Participants were 140 couples, 4th grade elementary school students and their mothers residing in Busan. Data collection was done during June 1 and July 31, 2010. The data were analyzed using paired t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression with PASW 18.0 program. Results: Children and mothers rated body satisfaction of the child differently. Children's responses for body satisfaction of child and parent-child attachment were associated with health behavior of children. Self-rated health perceived by children was also a factor affecting health behavior, as were body satisfaction perceived by children and mothers' perception of body satisfaction of child in that order. These variables explained 18.2% of the total variances in health behavior of children. Conclusion: The findings indicate that body satisfaction and self-rated health of children are important variables to target within intervention research and treatment programs for health promotion behavior of children at home and school.

<부모의 역할만족도 척도> 의 개발 (Development of the Parent-Satisfaction Scale)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the Parent Satisfaction Scale(PSS) to measure the various components of satisfaction related to parenting. The subjects were 1210 parents(249 fathers and 961 mothers) selected nation widely from 7 cities and several rural area in Korea. the statistics used for data analysis were Fisher's Exact Test, Cramer's V, factor analysis multiple regression, Cronbach's α,and Pearson's correlation. To begin with eighty of 100-item scale were selected through the item analysis and from that 48 items were abstracted through the multiple regression analysis conducted to reduce the length of the scale. Results of factor analysis indicated that the PSS comprised of five factors: general satisfaction parent-child relationship spouse support parent's role conflict support of children. Reliabilities for the domains ranged from 79 to 91. To determine the construct validity of this instrument the Marital Satisfaction Scale and the Proverb about child rearing were administered. The two creterion measures showed significant relationships with the PSS. The final 48 items scale from the current analysis were considered to be critical steps in the development of this assessment device.

저소득층 부모가 지각한 부모효능감, 결혼만족도, 사회적지지와 지역사회환경의 질이 가정 중심 유아교육의 부모참여도에 미치는 영향 (Parental Efficacy, Marriage Satisfaction, Social Support and Neighborhood Context as Predictors of Parent Involvement in Low Income Preschool Children's Education)

  • This study examined the relationship between parental efficacy, marriage satisfaction, social support, neighborhood context, and parental involvement in preschool children's education in low income families. Total 460 low income parents' data about parental efficacy, marriage satisfaction, social support, neighborhood context, and parental involvement are collected from the data of index studies for Korean child and adolescent's development in 2009. Parental efficacy, marriage satisfaction, perceived social support and perceived neighborhood context correlated positively with parental involvement. Regression analysis detected different patterns of association between these variables and the three dimensions of parent involvement. Perceived neighborhood context was associated with child care involvement, while parental efficacy was the most influential factor related to child leisure involvement. Marriage satisfaction was the strongest factor influencing involvement in children's educational activity. These results support the validity of a multi-dimensional, ecological conceptualization of parent involvement in low income families.

부모애착, 또래애착 및 이성관계가 청소년의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Pathways From Parent Attachment to Adolescent Life Satisfaction Through Peer Attachment and Romantic Relationships)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine pathways from parent attachment to adolescent life satisfaction and to determine the mediating roles of peer attachment and romantic relationships. Methods: The participants were 221 high-school students (117 boys and 104 girls) living in Jeonnam province who had been in a romantic relationship for more than 3 months. The data were analyzed by t -tests, Pearson correlations, and SEM using SPSS 19.0 and Amos 18.0. Results: Based on the research objective, 4 important results were summarized. First, father attachment and mother attachment had direct effects on adolescent life satisfaction. Second, mother attachment had an indirect effect on adolescent life satisfaction through peer attachment. Third, father attachment had an indirect effect on adolescent life satisfaction through romantic relationships. Fourth, mother attachment had an indirect effect on adolescent life satisfaction through peer attachment and romantic relationships. Conclusion: The results from this study highlight the significant roles of parent attachment, peer attachment, and romantic relationships in adolescent life satisfaction. Specifically, the roles of father attachment and of romantic relationships in adolescent life satisfaction, which have seldom been explored in previous studies, should be emphasized. The findings can be used as an important basis for prospective research and practices for improving adolescent life satisfaction.

중학생의 자기통제, 부모-자녀 간의 의사소통 및 학교생활만족도가 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Self-Control, Parent-Adolescent Communication, and School Life Satisfaction on Smart-phone Addiction for Middle School Students)

  • This study is to examine (the) effects of self-control, parent-adolescent communication, and school life satisfaction on smart-phone addiction for middle school students. The 127 students who were classified as smart-phone addicts among first to third grade at two middle schools located in Gyunggido were sampled with a survey. T-tests, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis were used. The results of study were as follows. First, smart-phone addiction make no difference according to adolescent's sex and grade. Second, the relations between smart-phone addiction and the factors included self-control, parent-adolescent communication, and school life satisfaction were negatively correlated. As a result, the higher self-control, parent-adolescent communication, and school life satisfaction were, the lower smart -phone addiction was. Third, it is significant as variable that adverse effect, low rank class of parent-adolescent communication and personal relationship, same class as the former of school life satisfaction exert influence on smart phone addiction.

한국판 아동용 부모자녀관계 척도 표준화 연구 (Standardization Study for the Korean Version of Parenting Relationship Questionnaire-Children)

  • The PRQ instrument is parental perspectives of the parent-child relationship. It measured parent-child dimensions that include attachment and involvement. Also, it provides additional information on parenting style, parenting stress and satisfaction with the child's school. This study tested reliability and validity of the Korean version of Parenting Relationship Questionnaire-Child (K-PRQ-C). The K-PRQ-C was administered to parents of 713 elementary school children including 362 boys and 351 girls. They were from 1st to 6th grade children who were recruited form 4 elementary schools in Korea. Reliability was tested through internal consistency. We conducted confirmatory factor analysis. Moreover, scale inter-correlation was conducted for validity test. Discriminant validity conducted through administration to the parents of clinical children with emotional and behavior disorders. Construct validity was also examined through Korean version of the Parenting Sense of Competence. The results of confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the similar factor structures exist for PRQ-C and K-PRQ-C. The results showed a high level of internal consistency as well as construct and discriminant validity. These results showed valid psychometric properties for the K-PRQ-C. The K-PRQ-C provides a reliable and valid means of gathering information about the parent-child relationship. We discussed Implications for the use of the K-PRQ-C as a clinical tool and as a research instrument.
