  • In this study, an analytical realization of end-milling system was introduced using recursive parametric modeling analysis. Also, the numerical mode analysis of end-milling system with different conditions was performed systematically. In this regard, a recursive least square(RLS) modeling algorithm and the natural mode for real part and imaginary one was discussed. This recursive approach (RLSM) can be adopted for the on-line system identification and monitoring of an end-milling for this purpose. After experimental practice of the end-milling, the end-milling force was obtained and it was used for the calculation of FRF(Frequency response function) and mode analysis. Also the FRF was analysed for the prediction of a end-milling system using recursive algorithm.

  • In this paper, a parametric study of the unbalance response and the stability is carried out to show the influence of seal parameters on the response of rotor. The seal parameters optimized are the seal clearance and the seal length. The minimum quantity of a Q factor in the critical speed and the maximum quantity of a logarithmic decreement in the operating speed, avoiding the reign of resonance, are the objective function. This paper describes a new approach to find a seal parameter of rotor system. The optimization method is used genetic algorithms, which are search algorithms based on the mechanics of natural selection and natural genetics. The results show the capability of this method and indicate that an optimal design of seals can improve the unbalance and the stability of rotor.

  • The effects of the concentration and the pressure of reactants on laser output were reported in the previous study. The present study is made of the following main parameters on laser characteristics; the initial temperature of the reaction mixture, inert gas (He) added in the reaction mixture, and the level of initiation as a function of time. As the initial temperature of reaction mixture decreases, both the output energy and the duration time increase. Especially, the output energy is linearly proportional to the inverse of the initial temperature. In order to obtain a proper lasing for a given condition, a sufficient amount of He must be added: The optimum ratio of [He] to $[D_2\;+\;F_2\;+\;CO_2]$ is found to be greater than 2. In addition, the time dependence of level of initiation (TDLI) shows no significant difference in total output energy from that of the premixed model, but only the power profile.

  • The possibility for the high intensity and energy possessing a short pulse in the HF chemical laser system which contained fluoride molecules (RF) was demonstrated theoretically through the numerical model simulation. The calculation was accomplished by assuming that the thermal branched chain mechanism of RF was occurred in the initiation step of $H_2+F_2$ chain reaction. Variations of the major chemicals and the temperature in the system were calculated as a function of time. An analysis was also performed to evaluate output pulse profile through parametric studies.

  • A treatment based on the algebraic operations on fuzzy numbers is used to replace the fuzzy problem into an equivalent crisp one. The finite difference technique is used to replace the continuous boundary value problem (BVP) of arbitrary order 1<α≤2, with fuzzy boundary parameters into an equivalent crisp (algebraic or differential) system. Three numerical examples with different behaviors are considered to illustrate the treatment of the singular perturbed case with different fractional orders of the BVP (α=1.8, α=1.9) as well as the classical second order (α=2). The calculated fuzzy solutions are compared with the crisp solutions of the singular perturbed BVP using triangular membership function (r-cut representation in parametric form) for different values of the singular perturbed parameter (ε=0.8, ε=0.9, ε=1.0). Results are illustrated graphically for the different values of the included parameters.

  • Based on the displacement general solution of a pre-twisted Euler-Bernoulli beam, the shape function and stiffness matrix are deduced, and a new finite element model is proposed. Comparison analyses are made between the new proposed numerical model based on displacement general solution and the ANSYS solution by Beam188 element based on infinite approach. The results show that developed numerical model is available for the pre-twisted Euler-Bernoulli beam, and that also provide an accuracy finite element model for the numerical analysis. The effects of pre-twisted angle and flexural stiffness ratio on the mechanical property are also investigated.

  • This article deals with the frequency analysis of viscoelastic sandwich disk with graphene nano-platelets (GPLs) reinforced viscoelastic concrete (GPLRVC) face sheets and honeycomb core. The honeycomb core is made of aluminum due to its low weight and high stiffness. The rule of the mixture and modified Halpin-Tsai model are engaged to provide the effective material constant of the concrete. By employing Hamilton's principle, the governing equations of the structure are derived and solved with the aid of the Generalize Differential Quadrature Method (GDQM). In this paper, viscoelastic properties are modeled according to Kelvin-Voigt viscoelasticity. The deflection as the function of time can be solved by the fourth-order Runge-Kutta numerical method. Afterward, a parametric study is carried out to investigate the effects of the outer to inner radius ratio, hexagonal core angle, thickness to length ratio of the concrete, the weight fraction of GPLs into concrete, and the thickness of honeycomb core to inner radius ratio on the frequency of the viscoelastic sandwich disk with honeycomb core and FG-GPLRVC face sheet.

  • Pitting corrosion commonly shaped in hull structure due to marine corrosive environment seriously causes the deterioration of structural performance. This paper deals with the ultimate strength behaviors of stiffened ship panels damaged by the pits subjected to uniaxial compression. A series of no-linear finite element analyses are carried out for three stiffened panels using ABAQUS software. Influences of the investigated typical parameters of pit degree (DOP), depth, location and distribution on the ultimate strength strength are discussed in detail. It is found that the ultimate strength is significantly reduced with increasing the DOP and pit depth and severely affected by the distribution. In addition, the pits including their distributions on the web have a slight effect on the ultimate strength. Compared with regular distribution, random one on the panel result in a change of collapse mode. Finally, an empirical formula as a function of corrosion volume loss is proposed for predicting the ultimate strength of stiffened panel.

  • Theoretical analysis of DF-$CO_2$ transfer chemical laser is performed through simple kinetic model consisting of 30 chemical reactions. In this model, we calculate the power theoretically by solving the rate equations, which are related to the $D_2\;+\;F_2$ chain reaction and the DF-$CO_2$ resonance energy transfer, combined with both the gain processes and the stimulated emission processes. The calculated powers are verified with previously reported results in good agreements. The output energy rises linearly with the increase in pressure, and the duration time of output pulse show the inverse dependence on pressure. Through the detailed calculation of temperature and concentrations of reactants as a function of time, it is found that the deactivation processes of DF(v) can be neglected in low pressure, but they have to be considered in high pressure. From the parametric study for the variation on [$D_2]/[F_2$] and [$CO_2]/[D_2\;+\;F_2$] at several constant total pressure, the optimum lasing conditions are found to be in a range of 1/3 to 1 and 2 to 4, respectively.

  • We introduce a new type of fractional derivative, which we call as the right local general truncated M-fractional derivative for α-differentiable functions that generalizes the fractional derivative type introduced by Anastassiou. This newly defined operator generalizes the standard properties and results of the integer order calculus viz. the Rolle's theorem, the mean value theorem and its extension, inverse property, the fundamental theorem of calculus and the theorem of integration by parts. Then we represent a relation of the newly defined fractional derivative with known fractional derivative and in context with this derivative a physical problem, Kirchoff's voltage law, is generalized. Also, the importance of this newly defined operator with respect to the flexibility in the parametric values is described via the comparison of the solutions in the graphs using MATLAB software.
