밝기변화에 강인한 Genetic Programming 기반의 비파라미터 다중 컬러 검출 모델 (Genetic Programming based Illumination Robust and Non-parametric Multi-colors Detection Model)

  • 본 논문은 물체인식이나 영상추적에 사용되는 컬러검출을 위한 GP(Genetic Programming) 기반의 컬러검출 모델을 제안한다. 기존의 컬러검출은 기본적인 RGB 모델에 대한 선형, 비선형 함수의 변환을 사용하거나, 최적화 기법이나 학습기법에 의해 조명 변화에 개선된 컬러 모델을 사용하고 있다. 하지만 대부분의 경우 색상 채널간의 간섭에 의해 다양한 색상에 대한 분류가 어렵고, 조명변화에 강인하지 못하다. 본 연구에서는 GP의 최적화된 학습기법과 모델 생성 기법을 통해 조명변화에 강인하고, 다중의 색상 검출이 가능하며, 파라미터 설정이 필요 없는 컬러 모델을 제안한다. 제안된 방법을 다양한 색상과 조명환경이 다른 영상에 대해서 기존 컬러모델과 비교 분석하였다.

  • 이 논문에서는 모수와 비모수 신호 검파에서 널리 쓰이는 네 통계량 사이의 결합 분포와 상관계수를 얻는다. 아울러, 상관계수들의 상한과 하한을 얻고, 상관계수들 사이의 눈여겨볼 만한 관계를 살펴본다. 또한, 몇 가지 분포에서 얻은 상관계수 값을 표와 그림으로 정리하여 쉽게 참고할 수 있도록 하였다. 이 논문에서 얻은 결과는 여러 검정 통계량을 서로 견주어 볼 때 쓸모 있을 것이다.

  • Sensor fault detection and isolation problems subject to H_/$H_{\infty}$, performance are concerned for linear time-invariant systems with time delay in a state and parametric uncertainties. To that end, a model-based observer bank approach is pursued. The design conditions for both continuous- and discrete-time cases are formulated in terms of matrix inequalities, which are then converted to the problems solvable via an algorithm involving convex optimization.

  • In this study, we use various change-point detection methods to detects Korea economic crisis of 1997, and then compares their performance. In change-point detection method, there are three major categories: (1) the parametric approach, (2) the nonparametric approach, and (3) the model-based approach. Through the application to Korea foreign exchange rate during her economic crisis, we compare the employed change-point detection methods and, furthermore, determine which of them performs better.

A new approach for content-based video retrieval

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach for content-based video retrieval using non-parametric based motion classification in the shot-based video indexing structure. Our system proposed in this paper has supported the real-time video retrieval using spatio-temporal feature comparison by measuring the similarity between visual features and between motion features, respectively, after extracting representative frame and non-parametric motion information from shot-based video clips segmented by scene change detection method. The extraction of non-parametric based motion features, after the normalized motion vectors are created from an MPEG-compressed stream, is effectively fulfilled by discretizing each normalized motion vector into various angle bins, and by considering the mean, variance, and direction of motion vectors in these bins. To obtain visual feature in representative frame, we use the edge-based spatial descriptor. Experimental results show that our approach is superior to conventional methods with regard to the performance for video indexing and retrieval.

  • Parametric min-cuts is an object proposal algorithm, which can be used for accurate image segmentation. In parametric min-cuts, foreground seeds generation plays an important role since the number and quality of foreground seeds have great effect on its efficiency and accuracy. To improve the performance of parametric min-cuts, this paper proposes a new framework for foreground seeds generation. First, to increase the odds of finding objects, saliency detection at multiple scales is used to generate a large set of diverse candidate seeds. Second, to further select good-quality seeds, a two-stage cascaded ranking classifier is used to filter and rank the candidates based on their appearance features. Experimental results show that parametric min-cuts using our seeding strategy can obtain a relative small pool of proposals with high accuracy.

장거리 능동 어탐의 연구 (Long Range Active Acoustic System for Fish Finding)

  • For the purpose of making the detection range of fish detection system more longer and computerizing the system a parametric sound source, a timer and a digitizing circuit for the Apple II computer have been studied. The parametric sound of 5 KHz generated by passing AND gate two signals from carrier signal generator of 200KHz with modulator of 5KHz. This parametric acoustic source of 5KHz difference frequency had more higher directional resolution of 10 degrees than single frequency sound of 200KHz. Peripheral interface adaptor MC 6821 was adopted for interfacing to the Apple II personal computer. The timer consisted of six decade binary coded decimal counters (74 LS 190), and the digitizing circuit consisted of a sample and hold (LF 398) and an A/D converter(ADC 0808). The timer with 10KHz clock pulse had the measuring time from 0.1msec to 100sec. This time measuring range was satisfactory for the aim of the fish finding acoustic system.

파라메트릭 배열을 이용한 은폐 물체 탐지 시스템 (Hidden Object Detection System using Parametric Array)

  • 본 논문에서는 은폐 물체 탐지를 위해 인체에 무해한 음향신호 중 파라메트릭 배열을 이용한 음향 탐지 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 탐지 시스템은 파라메트릭 배열 현상으로부터 생성되는 고 지향성 Chirp 신호를 송신신호로 사용하고, Dechirp 처리 과정을 통해 수신신호의 신호 대 잡음비를 개선하여 거리 분해능을 향상시키는 기법을 사용한다. 제안된 파라메트릭 배열 시스템의 송신센서는 $8{\times}2$ 배열로 구축하였으며, 센서 배열의 빔 폭은 수평방향 약 $7^{\circ}$와 수직방향 약 $26^{\circ}$를 형성한다. 제안된 시스템을 검증하기 위해 물체 탐지 및 가시화를 위한 2축 구동 제어 선형 스테이지를 구축하였으며, 이를 이용하여 은폐된 물체에 대한 A-scan, B-scan 및 C-scan 실험을 진행하였다. 실험 결과, 천에 은폐된 동판과 파이프를 탐지하고 형상을 확인하였으며, 가시화된 형상에서 동판은 $0.015m^2$, 파이프는 $0.046m^2$의 오차를 보여주었다.

  • This paper is concerned with a local detection of road on an airborne SAR image. The roads can be characterized by their geometry and radiometry. Roads are assumed as linear, thin, and elongated objects that are darker than their surroundings on an airborne SAR image. With these assumptions, a series of morphological filters are applied and tested successively. This approach is simple and almost non parametric and has been successfully applied to an airborne SAR image.
