Various kinds of tile-based ultra-high resolution display devices have been developed by, for example, constructing display walls using many commodity LCD displays. To represent 3D applications like computer games on these devices, one has to develop 3D applications or develop particular APIs only for representing on these devices. If one can develop a distributed rendering system using legacy 3D APIs such as OpenGL and Direct3D by extending a remote rendering system, commercial computer games can be represented on such display devices without modifying their source codes. The purpose of the paper is to propose a new Dired3D-based distribute rendering system by extending a Direct3D-based remote rendering system and to show its feasibility technically by appling it to a sample Direct3D application and performing a few experimentations.

Container-based virtualization reduces performance overhead compared with other virtualization technologies and guarantees an isolation of each virtual execution environment. So, it is being studied to block access to host resources or container resources for sandboxing in restricted system resource like embedded devices. However, because security threats which are caused by security vulnerabilities of the host OS or the security issues of the host environment exist, the needs of the technology to prevent an illegal accesses and unauthorized behaviors by malware has to be increased. In this paper, we define additional access permissions to access a virtual execution environment newly and control them in kernel space to protect attacks from illegal access and unauthorized behaviors by malware and suggest the Container Access Control to control them. Also, we suggest a way to block a loading of unauthenticated kernel driver to disable the Container Access Control running in host OS by malware. We implement and verify proposed technologies on Linux Kernel.

The dynamics of nano or micro sized-particles in liquid crystal (LC) medium under an external electric field is of theoretical and technological interest. A fullerene of 10 wt% was doped into the LC medium and its electric field induced motion was controlled by both in-plane and vertical electric fields. In the proposed device, pixel electrode I and pixel electrode II were designed consecutively on the bottom substrate and common electrode on the top of the substrate. When the electric field was applied, the fullerenes start to move in direction of applied electric field. The dark, grey and white states in the proposed device can be obtained by suitable combination of the polarity of applied electric field at pixel electrode I, pixel electrode II and common electrode. The dynamical motions of fullerene particles in LC medium suggest that fullerene can be designed for electronic-paper like displays.
Electrochromic (EC) devices are capable of reversibly changing their optical properties upon charge injection and extraction induced by the external voltage. The characteristics of the EC device, such as low power consumption, high coloration efficiency, and memory effects under open circuit status, make them suitable for use in a variety of applications including smart windows and electronic papers. Coloration due to reduction or oxidation of redox chromophores can be used for EC devices (e-paper), but the switching time is slow (second level). Recently, with increasing demand for the low cost, lightweight flat panel display with paper-like readability (electronic paper), an EC display technology based on dye-modified $TiO_2$ nanoparticle electrode was developed. A well known organic dye molecule, viologen, was adsorbed on the surface of a mesoporous $TiO_2$ nanoparticle film to form the EC electrode. On the other hand, ZnO is a wide bandgap II-VI semiconductor which has been applied in many fields such as UV lasers, field effect transistors and transparent conductors. The bandgap of the bulk ZnO is about 3.37 eV, which is close to that of the $TiO_2$ (3.4 eV). As a traditional transparent conductor, ZnO has excellent electron transport properties, even in ZnO nanoparticle films. In the past few years, one-dimension (1D) nanostructures of ZnO have attracted extensive research interest. In particular, 1D ZnO nanowires renders much better electron transportation capability by providing a direct conduction path for electron transport and greatly reducing the number of grain boundaries. These unique advantages make ZnO nanowires a promising matrix electrode for EC dye molecule loading. ZnO nanowires grow vertically from the substrate and form a dense array (Fig. 1). The ZnO nanowires show regular hexagonal cross section and the average diameter of the ZnO nanowires is about 100 nm. The cross-section image of the ZnO nanowires array (Fig. 1) indicates that the length of the ZnO nanowires is about $6\;{\mu}m$. From one on/off cycle of the ZnO EC cell (Fig. 2). We can see that, the switching time of a ZnO nanowire electrode EC cell with an active area of $1\;{\times}\;1\;cm^2$ is 170 ms and 142 ms for coloration and bleaching, respectively. The coloration and bleaching time is faster compared to the $TiO_2$ mesoporous EC devices with both coloration and bleaching time of about 250 ms for a device with an active area of $2.5\;cm^2$. With further optimization, it is possible that the response time can reach ten(s) of millisecond, i.e. capable of displaying video. Fig. 3 shows a prototype with two different transmittance states. It can be seen that good contrast was obtained. The retention was at least a few hours for these prototypes. Being an oxide, ZnO is oxidation resistant, i.e. it is more durable for field emission cathode. ZnO nanotetropods were also applied to realize the first prototype triode field emission device, making use of scattered surface-conduction electrons for field emission (Fig. 4). The device has a high efficiency (field emitted electron to total electron ratio) of about 60%. With this high efficiency, we were able to fabricate some prototype displays (Fig. 5 showing some alphanumerical symbols). ZnO tetrapods have four legs, which guarantees that there is one leg always pointing upward, even using screen printing method to fabricate the cathode.

This paper introduces development of location estimation and navigation system of mobile robots using USN and LEGO Mindstorms NXT. Developed system includes location estimation, location and navigation information display and navigation control parts. It used ZigBee based USN which was built with CC2431 chip to locate blind node and implemented fuzzy model to improve ability of calculation of distances from reference nodes and location of mobile robots. This paper proposed combination method of location estimation using USN and encoder which is built in motors of mobile robots. Experimental results showed proposed method is superior to the method which used USN only in location estimation and navigating robots. Developed system can locate current position of mobile robots and monitor information from sensor nodes like temperature, humidity and send control signal to mobile robot to move.
This paper presents a optimizing algorithm getting through analyzing a image improvement algorithm using retinex theory. Improving a existing retinex theory's slow process speed, our proposal is that it controls a small filter size of surrounding function by comparing with original algorithm. So slow process speed decreased drastically. For filling a short of lighting information by small filter, we also selected gray image as a forth channel. Using the color constancy, we got fast process time like linear color correction and could do comfortable auto color rectification according to other images.

To be able to show moving images without visual problems like blurring and tailing, the response time of liquid crystal display (LCDs) must be improved. In this paper we will discuss our progress in improving the response time by optimizing the cell configuration and the use of new liquid crystal mixtures. A 20.1inch diagonal UXGA IPS TFT-LCD has been developed having a response time as fast as l-frame time (16msec) for white-black operation and less than 16msec in all gray levels without applying ODC (Over Driving Circuit). This is very important because one of the technology to reduce motion blurring, the use of scanning backlight is conditioned by 16msec for all grays. The excellent gray-to-gray response can be explained by virtue of fundamental characteristics of S-IPS mode and makes a good contrast with the results of VA mode.
In this paper, it is designed a processor using embedded system so that moving picture can be expressed on LED electric sign board which has been expressed a simple message only like as a character or graphic. It has been fabricated a moving picture LED electric sign board which is composed to a video processor and LED display panel, in order to be able to express a digital moving picture of 24 bits that is transmitted from embedded system. It includes gamma adjustment, brightness, color contrast control, a schedule function, expression image conversion by the Internet and memory device. Also, an application program based Windows CE is designed so that a character, graphic, and moving picture can be expressed on a small LED electric sign board.

Forward collision warning systems(FCWS) and lane departure warning systems(LDWS) need regions of interest for detecting lanes and objects as road regions. In general, the lane departure warning system using a vehicle front camera is tracking a lane curve using RANSAC or the like in the form of a straight line obtained image are compared with the center of the vehicle. This algorithm has weaknesses that requires a wide range of the lane being vulnerable to the curve. This paper presents an algorithm that checks whether the current lane departure by car from the Top-view space. The algorithm also can check whether the vehicle in the lane departure of the narrow range, and shows the result that is almost not affected by noise.

Video Content owners seek to squeeze the maximum amount of revenue from their assets via distribution into more territories. Digital Cinema Package(DCP), trusted solution to distribute protected content to theaters, caters to relatively small user base, which limits revenue. With the growth of the Internet & other digital media, the economics of media content has changed dramatically. Security remains main concern to deliver content to millions of consumers using intelligent digital display devices like Tablets, Smartphones, Smart TVs, Desktop & Laptop. By making the video content available to this segment securely, content owners will benefit from increased revenue. Through this paper we propose Open Source HomeDCP model to distribute the content to home users for offline viewing. We propose to include other open source CODEC than JPEG2000/MPEG2, which are specifically designed for theatrical performance. Final image size will be further reduced considering the display device resolution where video will be finally played. Key Delivery Message(KDM) system to be altered to suit new devices. This will be a big boost to Content Economy as content owners would be able to distribute the content securely to the wider audience & ensure more revenue.
