Numbers Cup Optimization: A new method for optimization problems

  • In this paper, a new meta-heuristic optimization method is presented. This new method is named "Numbers Cup Optimization" (NCO). The NCO algorithm is inspired by the sport competitions. In this method, the objective function and the design variables are defined as the team and the team members, respectively. Similar to all cups, teams are arranged in groups and the competitions are performed in each group, separately. The best team in each group is determined by the minimum or maximum value of the objective function. The best teams would be allowed to the next round of the cup, by accomplishing minor changes. These teams get grouped again. This process continues until two teams arrive the final and the champion of the Numbers Cup would be identified. In this algorithm, the next cups (same iterations) will be repeated by the improvement of players' performance. To illustrate the capabilities of the proposed method, some standard functions were selected to optimize. Also, size optimization of three benchmark trusses is performed to test the efficiency of the NCO approach. The results obtained from this study, well illustrate the ability of the NCO in solving the optimization problems.

  • 고령화 사회의 노인성 질환 치료기술에 대한 수요가 증가되고 있는 가운데 최근 한의약이 새롭게 주목을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 환자 스스로 의해 기본적인 치료가 이루어질 수 있는 휴대용 한방 멀티 전동 부항 시스템을 제안했다. 본 시스템은 여러 개의 부항컵을 동시에 시술할 수 있고, 타이머와 공압을 자유롭게 조절하여 환부의 장시간 공압 유지로 인한 가려움증 및 근육응결을 해소할 수 있다.

  • This paper shows a design of a gripper with an adjustable working area to depalletize a delivery cardboard box of various sizes. The gripper should pick the box with only one flat surface to lift the boxes stacked close to each other. The lift force of the gripper is the vacuum suction force. To handle boxes of various sizes, the gripper adjusts the working area. The gripper operates four vacuum generators independently. The simultaneous rotation on different axes of four gripper-arms with suction cups moves the position of suction force. The six operation modes of the gripper are divided into the size of the working area. The operation mode is determined according to the size of the top side of the box. Experiments are conducted by lifting the box of various sizes. The gripper can pick the box of various sizes without vacuum leaks from unused cups. Also, the experiments verify the improvement of stability of the box by adjusting the working area of the gripper. The gripper can lift the box without deformation of the box by adjusting the working area.

  • This paper presents a development of an electric hole cutter for agricultural polyethylen film. Mechanical hole cutter with blades and electrical hole cutters are being tried in products now. But Mechanical hole cutter systems have a few faults. So the hole cutter systems using electrical heater have mainly been developed and optimized. Computer aided engineering was introduced for the purpose of electric heated hole cutter being developed, because it helped reduce the unnecessary tests. Three types of heated cups were surveyed with MSC/Nastran, and the type of model C was most effective in heat transfer.

CALIBRATION TRANSFER FROM REFLECTANCE TO INTERACTANCE-REFLECTANCE WITHOUT STANDARDS: USE OF MATHEMATICAL PRETREATMENTS

  • The use of fibre optic probes for NIR quality control in the industry is becoming very important, as it provides a powerful tool to reduce sample analysis time and it facilitates the implementation of on-line analyses. However, most of the applications of fibre optics and probes have been done on suspensions, clear liquids and films, chemical and pharmaceutical products and also on fruits and animal products. Traditional applications of near infrared spectroscopy in agriculture have been developed in reflectance mode and calibration transfer could be an interesting way to reduce efforts. Classical methods for calibration transfer between different instruments involve the use of sealed reference cups, but, as fibre optic analysis does not use cups, it is necessary to develop new methods for calibration transfer without standards (Blank et al., 1996). In this paper, we have studied how the most used mathematical pretreatments (three methods of Multiplicative Scatter Correction, Standard Normal Variate, Detrending and derivatives) and their combinations applied to calibration development can contribute to reduce spectral differences between instruments. Calibration equations were obtained for three sets of cereals (barley, wheat and maize) scanned in reflectance mode and then they were validated with samples analysed in reflectance and interactance-reflectance mode (fibre optic). Preliminary results show how some combination of pretreatments reduce the differences in the predicted values, measured as standard error of differences, facilitating the use of calibrations obtained in reflectance for samples analysed by interactance-reflectance. However, the application of pretreatments is not enough to satisfy the control limits for calibration transfer suggested by Shenk et al. (1992), and it should be necessary to combine them with a specific algorithm for instruments standardization.

  • 본 논문에서는 유무선 통합 환경에서 융합 미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위한 통합 프로파일 및 인증 제어 기술로써, 시스템 구현을 통한 결과를 제시한다. 가입자의 접속, 서비스, 이동성, 방송형 프로파일을 관리하고 개방형 API(Application Program Interface)를 통해서 제3사업자에게 가입자 프로파일 정보를 PUSH/PULL 방식으로 제공하는 방안을 제안한다. 이때 개방형 API는 웹 서비스, REST(Representational State Transfer) 기반으로 구현하여 제3사업자가 쉽게 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 방식을 제안한다. 또한, 한번 접속 인증에 성공하면 액세스 망이 변하거나 혹은 IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) 기반의 서비스 망에 접속하게 될 때 동일한 인증 정보를 유지할 수 있는 SSO(Single Sign-On) 기능을 제안한다. 제안된 방식은 CUPS(Converged User Profile Server) 시험 네트워크 구현 연구를 통하여 기능 검증 및 성능 분석을 수행하였다.

  • 최근 이미지를 처리하는 딥러닝 기술이 화재 감지나 자율주행, 불량품 검출 등에서 다양하게 활용되고 있다. 특히, 제품이 오염되었는지 아닌지를 파악하기 위해 기존 센서 데이터에서 넘어온 오염물질을 통해 파악할 수 있지만, 제품의 균열이나 오염물질 자체를 이미지로 인식하는 기술도 다양한 분야에서 활발히 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 오염되지 않은 정상적인 컵과 오염된 컵을 이미지를 통해 분류하는 시스템을 설계하고 이를 구현하였다. 이미지는 오픈 이미지와 촬영한 이미지를 사용하였고, 3D 객체 인식을 위한 Google Objectron을 활용해 컵 이미지의 상단 부분을 추출하여 이미지를 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 위생 분야에서 필요한 제품의 오염도를 이미지 기반으로 추출할 수 있는 연구에 다각도로 활용할 것으로 사료된다.

  • This paper describes a computer aided process planning system called "Deep-Drawing", "Deep-Drawing" is designed for the drawing sequence of cylindrical and rectangular cups with or without taper and flange. The computer program has written in BASIC language with personal computer. Design Rules for process planning are formulated from process limitation, plasticity theory and experimental results including the know-how of many manufacturing factories. "Deep-Drawing" Capabilities include the analysis of drawing sequence by the determination of optimal drawing ratio, the determination of intermediate shape, dimensions, punch and die radius etc., the calculation of drawing loads and blank holder force to perform each drawing step, and the graphic outputs for the operation sheet.tputs for the operation sheet.

  • This paper describes a computer aided tool design system of deep drawing of cylindrical cups with or without flange by press. An approach to system is based on knowledge based system. The computer program has written in basic language with personal computer Knowledges for tool design are formulated from the plasticity theory, handbooks, experimental results and empirical knowhow of the field experts. The capabilities of developed system include 1) the selection of tool structure (with or without blank holder, single or double action, lift up or draw off type), 2) the design of tool elements(punch/holder, die/holder etc.) for the previous selected tool structure by the process planning output and the production quantity. The final output is generated in graphics form for design sheet.

  • It is well known, for many years, that deep drawability can be improved by applying variable blank holding force. To apply variable blank holding force during cup during, we set up pressure controlling system on experimental hydraulic press, and the pressure control system is often called NC(Numerically Controlled) cushion system Using the NC cushion system we compared the drawability of square steel cups with NC cushion and that with conventional cushion. The results show drawability is greatly improved when the pressure control curve is designed in a S-shaped curve. This paper includes design details of the NC cushion system and experimental analysis of drawability with experimental NC cushion system.
