New coding tools require the increase of the encoder complexity in H.264. In this paper we propose a fast mode decision method to reduce the computational complexity of mode decision. The simulation results shows that the proposed methods could reduce the coding time of overall sequences by 30% on average without any noticeable degradation of the coding efficiency.

In this paper, we attempt to study several topological properties for the function space H(X), space of self-homeomorphisms on a metric space endowed with the regular topology. We investigate its metrizability and countability and prove their coincidence at X compact. Furthermore, we prove that the space H(X) endowed with the regular topology is a topological group when X is a metric, almost P-space. Moreover, we prove that the homeomorphism spaces of increasing and decreasing functions on ℝ under regular topology are open subspaces of H(ℝ) and are homeomorphic.

Let {$X_{ni}|1\;{\le}\;i\;{\le}\;n$, $n\;{\ge}\;1$} be an array of rowwise negatively associated random variables and let $\alpha$ > 1/2, 0 < p < 2 ${\alpha}p\;{\ge}\;1$. In this paper we discuss $n^{{\alpha}p-2}h(n)$ max $_{1\;{\le}\;k{\le}n}\;|\;{\sum}^k_{i=1}\;X_{ni}|/n^{\alpha}\;{\to}\;0$ completely as $n\;{\to}\;{\infty}$ under not necessarily identically distributed with a suitable conditions and h(x) > 0 is a slowly varying function as $x\;{\to}\;{\infty}$. In addition, we obtained that $n^{{\alpha}p-2}h(n)$ max $_{1\;{\le}\;k{\le}n}\;|\;{\sum}^k_{i=1}\;X_{ni}|/n^{\alpha}\;{\to}\;0$ completely as $n\;{\to}\;{\infty}$ if and only if $E|X_{11}|^ph(|X_{11}|^{1/\alpha})\;<\;{\infty}$ and $EX_{11}\;=\;0$ under identically distributed case and some corollaries are obtained.

In this paper, we explore a standard ${\mathbb{k}}-configuration$ in ${\mathbb{P}}^2$ and find that if ${\mathbb{X}}$ is a standard ${\mathbb{k}}-configuration$ in ${\mathbb{P}}^2$ of type (1, 2, ${\ldots}$, s) with $s{\geq}2$, then ${\Delta}H_{m{\mathbb{X}}}(m{\mathbb{X}}-1)=3$, which is the number of lines containing exactly s-points in ${\mathbb{X}}$ for $m{\geq}2$ instead of $m{\geq}s+1$.

In this paper, the efficiency improvement of the heterojunction with intrinsic thin layer (HIT) solar cells is obtained by optimization process of p-type a-SiC:H as emitter. The optoelectronic of p-type a-SiC:H layers including the optical band-gap and conductivity under the methane gas content variation is conducted in detail. A significant increase in the Jsc by $1mA/cm^2$ and Voc by 30 mV are attributed to enhanced photon-absorption due to broader band-gap of p-a-SiC:H and reduced band-offsets at p-side interface, respectively of HIT solar cells.

Let ℍⁿ be the Heisenberg group and Q = 2n + 2 be its homogeneous dimension. Let 𝓛 = -∆_ℍⁿ + V be the Schrödinger operator on ℍⁿ, where ∆_ℍⁿ is the sub-Laplacian and the nonnegative potential V belongs to the reverse Hölder class $B_{q_1}$ for q₁ ≥ Q/2. Let H^p_𝓛(ℍⁿ) be the Hardy space associated with the Schrödinger operator 𝓛 for Q/(Q+𝛿₀) < p ≤ 1, where 𝛿₀ = min{1, 2 - Q/q₁}. In this paper, we consider the Hardy type estimates for the operator T_𝛼 = V^𝛼(-∆_ℍⁿ + V )^-𝛼, and the commutator [b, T_𝛼], where 0 < 𝛼 < Q/2. We prove that T_𝛼 is bounded from H^p_𝓛(ℍⁿ) into L^p(ℍⁿ). Suppose that b ∈ BMO^𝜃_𝓛(ℍⁿ), which is larger than BMO(ℍⁿ). We show that the commutator [b, T_𝛼] is bounded from H¹_𝓛(ℍⁿ) into weak L¹(ℍⁿ).

The strain No. 33, which produces cellulose-degrading enzyme, was isolated from soil. Yellow halo was identified when the culture supernatant of the strain was loaded onto agar plate containing 2.0% CMC using paper disc method. From scanning electron microscopic observation, the morphology of the stain was rod-shaped. For identification, several biochemical characteristics were tested, and this strain was identified to Bacillus sp. So, we named this strain as Bacillus sp. No. 33. The maximal growth was observed when the stain was cultured in the medium containing 1.0% glucose, 3.0% yeast extract, 0.5% $KH_2PO_4$, 0.02% $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$, pH 7.0 at $30^{\circ}C$ for 39 hours with shaking. The maximal enzyme production was accomplished using the medium containing 4.0% CMC, 2.0% yeast extract, 0.5% $KH_2PO_4$, 0.04% $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$, pH 7.0 at $30^{\circ}C$ for 42 hours with shaking.

A cepfialosporin with an aminothiazoiylmethoxyimino-type side chain at the 7 position and bicyclic quinolone dithicarbamate at the 3' position was synthesized. It has broad and potent antivacterial activity in vitro. The antibacterial spectrum reflects contributions of both the cephalosporin moiety and the quinolone moiety. Thus, this compound was named DACD implying a dualaction cephalosporin derivative. In this paper, the physicochemical proper-ties (lipid-water partition, pKa), stability and pharmacokinetics of DACD were determined and compared with cefotaxime 3'-norfloxacin dithiocarbamate (CENO). Stability tests were studied in pH 1.20, 6.80 and 8.00 buffers and in the presence of AB type human plasma, rat liver homogenate and its .betha.-lactamase. The pharmacokinetic parameters of DACD were evaluated in mice after a single intravenous dose of 40 mg/kg. The results are as follows. The lipid-water partition coefficient of DACD was higher than that of CENO. The calculated pKa values of CENO and DACD, were 6.82$\pm$0.03, 7.53$\pm$0.21, respectively. In the hydrolysis test, half-lives (t$^{1/2}$) of CENO and DACD was 66.0 hr and 80.0 hr in pH 6.80 buffer, 190 hr and 91.4 hr in pH 8.00 buffer. CENO and DACD were rapidly hydrolyzed in human plasma and in rat liver hornogenate. Half-lives (t$_{1/2}$ of CENO and DACD were 1.29 hr and 1.15 hr in hyman plasma, 0.62 hr and 0.71 hr rat liver homogenate. In $\beta$-lactamase stability test, CENO and DACD were very stable to the .betha.-lactamases obtained from three different strains. Half-life (t$_{1/2}$) and areas under the curve (AUC) in mice were 2.33 hr and 15.97 (mg.h/1), respectively.

The objective of this study was to find in what color Hanji(Korean hand-made paper) is dyed when it is dyed with a pigment extracted from clove tree using different kinds of mordant, and how the paper is discolored and variety of strength under the condition of accelerated aging test. The results of this experiment are as follows. The Hanji dyed with aluminum acetate mordant was colored yellowish brown at pH 4.82, discoloration after aging was as much as a slight difference of color was recognized, and the decrease of strength after aging test was small. Thus, the method using aluminum acetate mordant was usable in coloring Hanji. The second most useful Hanji dyeing moth of was using distilled water and ferrous sulfate mordant, which dyed Hanji light brown at pH 6.03. However, when pigment was extracted using distilled water and copper sulfate mordant was used, discoloration was satisfactory but strength decreased too much and pale brown was obtained. Thus, this method was not usable.
