4.0$\times$10-3 (IU/cells/day) of maximum specific scu-PA production, which was higher than those by a 75$\textrm{cm}^2$ T-flask and conventional perfusion systems, was maintained by tube-type bioreactor at 0.35 (1/h) of perfusion rate corresponding to 0.15 (dynes/$\textrm{cm}^2$) of shear stress. The production of scu-PA is also increased as shear stress was slowly increased, which is similar to natural human blood circulation. The tube reactor proves that there may be no limitation of oxygen supply by showing 1.0 (1/h) of oxygen transfer coefficient at steady state and this system yields much lower shear stress of 0.3(dynes/$\textrm{cm}^2$) than that of 5-8(dynes/$\textrm{cm}^2$) by conventional agitation systems.
We investigated the optimal surface aeration rate during bioethanol production from the hydrolysate of seaweed Sargassum sagamianum using Pichia stipitis. It was observed that, when the working volume was 880 mL in 2.5-L lab-fermentor, the surface aeration rates of 30 to 100 mL/min were the optimal values for bioethanol production, in which this surface aeration rate corresponded to less than 0.05 (1/min) as the oxygen transfer rate coefficient ($k_La$). In addition, during repeated-batch operation was carried out, we examined whether those surface aeration rates were the optimal for bioethanol production. It was also observed that the surface aeration rates of 30 to 100 mL/min in the working volume of 880 mL were the optimal values in terms of the cumulative bioethanol producrion and bioethanol yield. On the basis of the oxygen transfer rate coefficient it is probable that those surface aeration rates will be applied to the large-scale bioethanol production from the hydrolysate of seaweed Sargassum sagamianum.

In case of liquid rocket using turbopump, the inner pressure of liquid oxygen tank is maintained low, so vaporization of LOX is generally occurred. This vaporization tendency increases as the inlet helium gas temperature is higher. For estimating the amount of helium in the rocket system, the LOX vaporization phenomena should be carefully considered. In this paper, Inner process of LOX tank is analyzed by two phase flow modeling. the vaporization rate and required Helium mass is investigated with varying inlet helium temperature and heat transfer coefficient.

In this study, experimental studies were performed the combustion characteristics of end- burning hybrid propulsion system. PMMA, PE were used as fuel and gas oxygen as oxidizer. The regression rate depend on oxidizer flow rate also on thermodynamic properties of fuel. as result, empirical formula for regression rate was deduces with oxidizer flow rate and mass transfer coefficient B number.

The variation of regression rate of single port hybrid rocket was studied with various fuel. As fuel, PE, PMMA were used and gas oxygen as oxidizer. The regression rate depends on but flow rates of oxidizer also thermodynamic properties of fuel. In this study, the empirical relation for regression rate of solid fuel were found with mass transfer coefficient(B number) and oxidizer flow rate.

In this research, mathematical models for predicting the shelf life of packaged tofu in a polyethylene container were developed. Transfer of oxygen in air through the package and then diffusion of oxygen into the filled water and the tofu with the simultaneous oxygen consumption by micoorganisms were studied. The results of simulation showed that the increase of microorganisms in the filled water was more than that in tofu. As a result, it turns out that the shelf life of packaged tofu was not determined by the number of microorganisms in the tofu, but by that in the filled water. Additionally, the effects of physical properties of packaging material and packaged materials, such as the oxygen permeability of packaging material, oxygen diffusion coefficient and the initial oxygen concentration in filled water, and the depth of the filled water, on the shelf life of packaged tofu, were observed.
Generally, it is a method to remove the fouling cleaning the plate heat exchanger with chemicals or polishing with a brush or cloth after stopping the equipment and disassembling heat exchanger. However, the equipment must be stopped and taken apart when using this method, which causes an unnecessary work to assemble again after cleaning it. In this study, it has developed and tested the equipment which can automatically clean the fouling on plate heat exchanger at regular intervals with air bubbles. It indicated that the overall heat transfer coefficient had decreased without significant differences similar to that calculated without air bubbles until after 72 hours when making air bubbles to remove fouling ingredient on the surface of heat transfer area every 10 minutes per 2 hours. However, it showed that there was a 10% higher of heat transfer effect compared to the case without air bubbles of after 192 hours.
In this research, three dimensional mathematical models were developed to predict the shelf life of tofu packaged in a semi-rigid plastic container. A model combining oxygen transfer through the package and oxygen consumption within the package was considered. According to the results, the model simulations estimated that the number of microorganisms in the filled water was higher than that in the tofu, suggesting the shelf life of packaged tofu was not affected by the number of microorganisms in the tofu product, but rather by the number of organisms in the filled water. Additionally, the effects of the physical properties of the packaging material, such as oxygen permeability through the package, oxygen diffusion coefficient, the initial oxygen concentration in the filled water, and the depth of the filled water in the packaged tofu, were also observed.
Effect of culture conditions on the fermentation of wheat flour solution by mixed lactic acid bacteria of Lactobacillus brevis, L. fermentum and L. plantarum was investigated. The optimum temperature for the fermentation of wheat flour solution was $35^{\circ}C$ because pH decreased the lowest value and TTA (total titrable acidity) increased the highest value at this temperature. In aerobic condition, fermentor was purged with air at 1.0 vvm and was purged with nitrogen gas at 1.0 vvm in anaerobic condition. The decrease of pH and the increase of TTA in aerobic condition were higher than those in anaerobic condition. In aerobic condition, the optimum condition of oxygen supply was found to be oxygen transfer rate coefficient of $60\;hr^{-1}$ which corresponded to agitation speed of 250 rpm in a 5 L fermentor. Repeated fed-batch cultures were performed using pH-stat in order to increase the productivity of fermented wheat flour. With increasing the repeated fraction of culture volume, mean cycle time increased but maximum operation time decreased. However, the volume of produced broth per culture volume per time and total volume of produced broth per culture volume were maximum at the repeated fraction of culture volume of 20%. In a repeated fed-batch fermentation of wheat flour solution using mixed lactic acid bacteria, the culture condition was optimum at temerature of $35^{\circ}C$, aeration rate of 1.0 vvm, oxygen transfer rate coefficient of $60\;hr^{-1}$, and repeated fraction of culture volume of 20%.
