The $La_{0.8}Ca_{0.2}CoO_3$ prepared by a citrate process was shown to have higher oxygen reduction current density and specific activity than $LaCoO_3$, $La_{0.6}Ca_{0.4}CoO_3$. In the cyclic voltammogram, an oxygen desorption peak of a $La_{0.8}Ca_{0.2}CoO_3$+carbon electrode was larger than that of a only carbon electrode. $La_{0.8}Ca_{0.2}CoO_3$ sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours was shown high oxygen reduction current density because of the particle size distribution and sintering effect.
The micro emulsion method has been successfully used for preparing perovskite LaCoO3 with uniform, fine-shaped nanoparticles showing high activity as electro catalysts in oxygen reduction reactions (ORRs). They are, therefore, promising candidates for the air-cathode in metal-air rechargeable batteries. Since the activity of a catalyst is highly dependent on its specific surface area, nanoparticles of the perovskite catalyst are desirable for catalyzing both oxygen reduction and evolution reactions. Herein, LaCoO3 powder was also prepared by sol-gel method for comparison, with a broad particle distribution and high agglomeration. The electro catalytic properties of LaCoO3 and LaCoO3-carbon Super P mixture layers toward the ORR were studied comparatively using the rotating disk electrode technique in 0.1 M KOH electrolyte to elucidate the effect of carbon Super P. Koutecky-Levich theory was applied to acquire the overall electron transfer number (n) during the ORR, calculated to be ~3.74 for the LaCoO3-Super P mixture, quite close to the theoretical value (4.0), and ~2.7 for carbon-free LaCoO3. A synergistic effect toward the ORR is observed when carbon is present in the LaCoO3 layer. Carbon is assumed to be more than an additive, enhancing the electronic conductivity of the oxide catalyst. It is suggested that ORRs, catalyzed by the LaCoO3-Super P mixture, are dominated by a 2+2-electron transfer pathway to form the final, hydroxyl ion product.
Based on case that HRSG low pressure steam generator tube was damaged by FAC in 500 MW A CCPP. This case analyzed the effect of application about the block of hydrazine water treatment which is applied for increasing dissolved oxygen. And also try to deduce the major factor of FAC Which is caused by lacking of dissolved oxygen of boiler feed system. After 1 year of water treatment, the figure of dissolved oxygen in the boiler feed water has increased from 0.15 ppb to 3~5 ppb and the figure of oxidation reduction potential has increased from -245 mV to 170 mV. And Iron content, the corrosion products by FAC has decreased from 18.5 ppb to 5~7 ppb. According to the result of experiment, we could able to confirm that the interception of hydrazine of water treatment is effective to reduce FAC.

$LaCoO_3$ powders synthesized by Pechini process were pulverized by planetary ball-milling to decrease particle size and characterized as a catalyst in alkaline solution for oxygen reduction and evolution reaction (ORR & OER). The changes of physical properties, such as particle size distribution, surface area and electric conductivity, were analyzed as a function of ball-milling time. Also, the variations of the crystal structure and surface morphology of ball-milled powders were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. The electrochemically catalytic activities of the intrinsic $LaCoO_3$ powders decreased with increasing ball-milling time, but their electrochemical performance as an electrode improved by the increase of the surface area of the powder.
The present study examined the possibility of $NO_{x}$ reduction in the high temperature industrial furnaces. duct burner of gas turbine cogeneration and two-stage gas turbine combustor. The experimental study was carried out for the diffusion flame of second stage combustor with the variations of oxygen concentration and supplying rate of hot exhaust gas from first stage combustor. It also examined the flammability range and $NO_{x}$ formation of the second stage combustor in which the fuel is supplying into the mixture of oxygen hot exhaust gas from first stage combustor. The results show that the enrichment of oxygen and increase of exhaust gas lead to increase the $NO_{x}$ up to 50 ppm with 23% $O_{2}$ condition.
When we use NiO based particle as an oxygen carrier in a chemical looping combustion system, the fuel conversion and the $CO_2$ selectivity decreased with increasing reaction temperature within high temperature range (> $900^{\circ}C$) due to the increment of exhaust CO concentration from reduction reactor. To improve reduction reactivity at high temperature, the applicable metal oxide component was selected by calculation of the equilibrium CO concentration of metal oxide components. After that, feasibility of reduction reactivity improvement at high temperature was checked by using solid mixture of the selected metal oxide particle and NiO based oxygen carrier. The reactivity was measured and investigated using batch type fluidized bed. The solid mixture of $Co_3O_4/CoAl_2O_4$(10%) and OCN706-1100(90%) showed higher fuel conversion, higher $CO_2$ selectivity and lower CO concentration than OCN706-1100(100%) cases. Consequently, we could conclude that improvement of reduction reactivity at high temperature range by adding some $Co_3O_4$ based oxygen carrier was feasible.
Jinhae Bay once was a productive area of fisheries. It is, however, now notorious for its red tides; and oxygen deficient water-masses extensively develop at present in summer. Therefore the shellfish production of the bay has been decreasing and mass mortality often occurs. Under these circumstances, the three-dimensional numerical hydrodynamic and the material cycle models, which were developed by the Institute for Resources and Environment of Japan, were applied to analyze the processes affecting the oxygen depletion and also to evaluate the environment capacity for the reception of pollutant loads without dissolved oxygen depletion. In field surveys, oxygen deficient water-masses were formed with concentrations of below 2.0mg/l at the bottom layer in Masan Bay and the western part of Jinhae Bay during the summer. Current directions, computed by the $M_2$ constituent, were mainly toward the western part of Jinhae Bay during flood flows and in opposite directions during ebb flows. Tidal currents velocities during the ebb tide were stronger than that of the flood tide. The comparision between the simulated and observed tidal ellipses showed fairly good agreement. The residual currents, which were obtained by averaging the simulated tidal currents over 1 tidal cycle, showed the presence of counterclockwise eddies in the central part of Jinhae Bay. Density driven currents were generated southward at surface and northward at the bottom in Masan Bay and Jindong Bay, where the fresh water of rivers entered. The material cycle model was calibrated with the data surveyed in the field of the study area from June to July, 1992. The calibrated results are in fairly good agreement with measured values within relative error of $28\%$. The simulated dissolved oxygen distributions of bottom layer were relatively high with the concentration of $6.0{\sim}8.0mg/l$ at the boundaries, but an oxygen deficient water-masses were formed within the concentration of 2.0mg/l at the inner part of Masan Bay and the western part of Jinhae Bay. The results of sensitivity analyses showed that sediment oxygen demand(SOD) was one of the most important influence on the formation of oxygen depletion. Therefore, to control the oxygen deficient water-masses and to conserve the coastal environment, it is an effective method to reduce the SOD by improving the polluted sediment. As the results of simulations, in Masan Bay, oxygen deficient water-masses recovered to 5.0mg/l when the $50\%$ reduction in input COD loads from Masan basin and $70\%$ reduction in SOD was conducted. In the western part of Jinhae Bay, oxygen deficient water-masses recovered to 5.0mg/l when the $95\%$ reduction in SOD and $90\%$ reduction in culturing ground fecal loads was conducted.
Redispersion of Pt-Sn particles in Pt, PtSn catalyst which have been sintered by high temperature hydrogen reduction was investigated using oxygen treatment with various temperatures. The aim of this study was to understand the relationship between the catalytic activity for propane dehydrogenation reaction and the change in the physicochemical properties of the catalyst. X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), CO pulse chemisorption, and H2 temperature programmed reduction (H2-TPR) were performed to investigate the state of active metal and interactions between particles of redispersed catalyst. It was confirmed that the dispersion and particle size of platinum, the crystal phase of the catalyst, and the reduction behavior were changed according to the oxygen treatment. As for the catalytic activity in propane dehydrogeantion, sintered PtSn catalyst treated with oxygen at 500 ℃ showed best activity and recovery of initial activity. It was confirm that catalyst after oxygen treatment at 500 ℃ showed high dispersion of Pt and decreased particle size as the results of CO pulse chemisorption and XRD of catalyst, and thus the redispersion of PtSn particles in sintered catalyst was occurred. Catalytic activity was recovered due to redispersion using oxygen treatment, and the activity recovery of the PtSn catalyst was higher than that of Pt catalyst.
