  • While bicycles are an exhaust-free and low energy consuming mode of transport, the use of them is getting decreased. The aim of this research is to find out current levels of bicycle ownership and to estimate the ownerships of the bicycles by spatial structure and social factors in the metropolitan area. The parameters which affect on the characteristics of the bicycle ownership are classified into aggregate and disaggregate categories. The ownerships of the bicycles are estimated by the multiple regression analysis using urban characteristics data and the binary logit analysis using household characteristics data. The results of this study to population, car ownership, and number of male in the household, and negatively by the population density.

  • The maximum intersection of spherical convex polygons are to find spherical regions owned by the maximum number of the polygons, which is applicable for determining the feasibility in manufacturing problems such mould design and numerical controlled machining. In this paper, an efficient method for partitioning a sphere with the polygons into faces is presented for the maximum intersection. The maximum intersection is determined by examining the ownerships of partitioned faces, which represent how many polygons contain the faces. We take the approach of edge-based partition, in which, rather than the ownerships of faces, those of their edges are manipulated as the sphere is partitioned incrementally by each of the polygons. Finally, gathering the split edges with the maximum number of ownerships as the form of discrete data, we approximately obtain the centroids of all solution faces without constructing their boundaries. Our approach is analyzed to have an efficient time complexity Ο(nv), where n and v, respectively, are the numbers of polygons and all vertices. Futhermore, it is practical from the view of implementation since it can compute numerical values robustly and deal with all degenerate cases.

  • Background: The average hospital stay in most Korean teaching hospitals is longer than that of hospitals in developed countries. The investigation of average hospital stay of teaching hospitals is considered as an important measure to evaluate the effectiveness of hospital management. In this article authors analyzed the relationship of several variables (hospital ownership, number of beds, location of hospitals, number of physician) to length of hospital stay in each clinical department. Methods: The average hospital stay of each clinical department of 184 teaching hospitals was investigated. Authors reviewed the papers of teaching hospitals, that was reported to the Korean Association of Hospitals. Results: The means of hospital stay day of hospitals were not significantly different according to the number of hospital beds and location of hospitals. Only the difference of hospital stay according to ownerships was significant. The length of stay was the highest in public hospitals and the lowest in juridical hospitals. Conclusions: The number of beds and location of hospitals were not associated with the average hospital stay. But ownerships affected the average hospital stay. The national or public hospitals had the longest length of hospital stay. Number of specialists and number of all physicians were closely related to the average hospital stay.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to understand organizational justice, organizational citizenship behavior, and psychological ownerships, and to confirm whether education on the mission and vision of an organization encourages medical professionals to have an awareness of their organization. Methods : The survey was done with two groups of nurses : one group had education about the missions and visions of the hospital, and the other group had no education about their organization. This study was done at K University Hospital which is located in Busan, Korea. Results : Education about the missions and visions of a medical institution effectively enhances organizational justice, organizational citizenship behavior, and psychological ownerships. Conclusions : If education about the missions and visions of an organization is actively done, the members of that organization will have an increased level of awareness about their organization as well as improved organizational capability.

  • The intellectual property system was very important to the past industrial society. It is so important to the 21C information age. It is a leading role to developing these information society. Not only the digital content control but the technology of program source code for the intellectual property is so much mean to international competition. On occurring disputation property, we have to prove the fact, there is a problem to show the original source code. In this paper, we simulate the digital licence for program source code to prevent the infringement of copyright and the tipping-off information.

  • As the budget size and complexity of 1T investment are growing, IT value measurement becomes more critical to the success of IT management In public organizations and private firms. It has been known that there are many factors such as IT costs, risks, qualify, and usage that should be taken Into consideration during the process of measuring IT value and making IT Investment decisions. However, little research has been done so far In order to analysis factors affecting the IT value and effectiveness. The purpose of this study Is to Investigate the impact of IT Project types and ownerships on IT value evaluation. The three research questions are as follows : (1) Does IT project type such as transactional, Informational, and infrastructure have any impact on 1T value measurement\ulcorner (2) Does the IT development ownership has any Impact on IT value\ulcorner (3) Does the IT operation ownership has any impact\ulcorner The empirical research was done at S-Electronics, world-wide known and the biggest manufacturing company in Korea, based on the method of structured interview. About 200 individual Information systems have been evaluated to calculate ROI measures, the dependent variable In this study. The results of statistical analysis show that two of three Independent variables, IT project types and IT development ownership, have statistically significant effects on IT value in terms of ROI measures.

  • This study investigated the effect of socio-demographic variables and the ownership of asset and the other types of debts on the use of a specific type of household debt. Household debts were categorized into six types according to borrowing sources: debts from banks, other financial institutes, employers, private sources, Gye, and retailers. The 1996 Korean Household Panel Study were analyzed using logistic model. It was found that socio-demographic factors influenced differently on the probabilities of debt holdings according to the types of debt. There were interrelationships among the ownerships of a specific type of debt and other types of debt and asset.

  • Korea has many underwater cultural heritages within the east, west and south seas surrounding the Peninsula that indicate historically important sealanes for trade and transportation. As these underwater cultural heritages are the objects of despoilment because of their relatively easy access through modern technology, their often high historical and priceless value demands strong protection similar to or better than the land cultural properties. Currently, Korea does not have any concrete laws or regulations for the protection of underwater cultural heritages. Thus, these heritages iu, somewhat temporary and inappropriately subjected to laws and regulations relating to provisions of individual Laws concerning protection of cultural properties act, and statute of excavation of material fir buried national property, lost articles act etc.. Internationally, the UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage was adopted but not yet entered into force. Therefore, the protection of underwater cultural heritage has become an urgent matter. In this regard, this article's main purpose is to provide recommendations for improving direction of legal regime and policy for protecting our underwater cultural heritages. These legal regimes need provisions for definition of the underwater cultural heritage, scope of application, ownerships, jurisdictions and protection measures. And suggestions are provided in regard to policies for the protection of underwater cultural heritages that may improve organization and cooperation among concerned ministries and agencies, compensation system, restrictions for excavation of underwater relics, efficiency of survey of underwater surface and information system.

  • In this study, we investigated 3 methods for precise registration of buildings into LIS. They are : 1. using digital topographic maps, 2. using registered building maps, 3. cadastral surveyings on sites. The first method was found that it hardly met required precision, and the second one was also lack of precision because of unmatched actual buildings with registered ones and many unregistered buildings. The last method produced the most precise results, although it required laborious cadastral surveyings on sites. Considering the importance of building registration as it shows the ownerships of properties, the third method was thought to be desirable.
