A Study on the Fuzzy ELDC of Composite Power System Based on Probabilistic and Fuzzy Set Theories

  • This paper illustrates a new fuzzy effective load model for probabilistic and fuzzy production cost simulation of the load point of the composite power system. A model for reliability evaluation of a transmission system using the fuzzy set theory is proposed for considering the flexibility or ambiguity of capacity limitation and overload of transmission lines, which are subjective matter characteristics. A conventional probabilistic approach was also used to model the uncertainties related to the objective matters for forced outage rates of generators and transmission lines in the new model. The methodology is formulated in order to consider the flexibility or ambiguity of load forecasting as well as capacity limitation and overload of transmission lines. It is expected that the Fuzzy CMELDC (CoMposite power system Effective Load Duration Curve) proposed in this study will provide some solutions to many problems based on nodal and decentralized operation and control of an electric power systems in a competitive environment in the future. The characteristics of this new model are illustrated by some case studies of a very simple test system.

  • It is becoming more and more difficult to construct new transmission lines because of many social problems. According to the load increase, Some of existing transmission lines will be heavy loaded over the limit. To solve this situation, one of method is peformed by replacing existing ACSR transmission lines with STACIR for increasing power transmission capacity in the 345kv transmission system. This paper presents several techniques for design and construction of transmission line replacement based on the actual experience in the 345kv Shinseongnam-Shinsiheung and Shinseongnam-Shinyeongseo transmission lines.

송전용 실리콘 폴리머애자의 산불영향 신뢰성 평가( I ) (Reliability Assessment of Forest Fire on Silicone Polymer Insulators in Transmission Lines( I ))

  • Most overhead transmission lines in Korea run over the mountain; however, only little study has been made for the effect of mountain fire on polymeric insulator for transmission lines, though the study is significantly required, Therefore, in this study, the authors observed the deformation of the sheds of the insulator under fire, varying the ignition time using artificial ignition testing equipment, and investigated electrical and mechanical characteristics of the insulator through dry withstand voltage test, impulse flashover test and tensile load test. As the results of the tests, the following conclusions were obtained, First, when the insulator was subjected to the fire, the electrical characteristics were slightly reduced, but there was no change on the mechanical characteristics, Secondly, the sheds and sheath of the insulator were not non-flammable but less-flammable. These two results show the high mechanical stability and durability of the insulator under severe fire condition, though the electrical characteristics can be deteriorated as the time that the insulator is subjected to fire, goes by.

  • 임의의 전원임피이던스와 임의의 부하임피이던스 사이에 삽입할 때 입력반사계수가 가급적 넓은 주파수범위에서 최소가 되는 임피이던스 정합용 불균일선로 섹션을 설계하는 문제를 고찰하였다. 고려대상의 불균일선로는 수학적으로는 특수한 종류에 속하는 것이나 실제적으로는 완만하게 변하는 거의 모든 전송선로를 포괄할 수 있다. 입력반사 계수의 계산에서는 선로의 ABCD 파라미터의 테일러 급수전관식을 이용하였다. 그리고 설계문제를 비선형 구속조건을 가진 비선형 프로그래밍 문제로서 수식화하였으며 이것을 수차적비구속 최소법(Sequential Unconstrained Minimigation Technique)과 Fletcher-Powell 방법을 병용하여 풀었다. 결과적으로 이제까지 광대역 임피이던시 정합편 전송선제로서 발표된 가장 우수한 것보다 훨씬 특성이 개선된 것을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • Recently polymer insulators are being used for outdoor high voltage applications. Polymer insulators for transmission and distribution line have significant advantages over porcelain and glass insulators, especially for ultra-high voltage(UHV) transmission lines. Their advantages are light weight, vandalism resistance and hydrophobicity. In this paper, polymer line post insulator has been designed and investigated electric field distribution by FEM. Designed LP insulators have been tested as insulator performance test, such as power frequency voltage test, lightning impulse voltage test, artificial pollution test and flexural load test.

  • Power systems are becoming larger and larger for meeting electric power demand. Therefore, the over-currents resulting from contingencies such short circuits are increasing higher. The Maximum short circuit current of modern power system is becoming so large that circuit breaker are not expected th be able to shut down the current in the future. In order to cut over-currents, a system composed of a superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) and traditional breaker seems to provide a promising solution for future power operation. In present paper, three line-to-ground fault is assumed to happen at the center of 345kV transmission lines in a large capacity electric power system The superconducting fault current limiter was represented using a commutation type, which consists of a non-inductive superconducting coil and current limiting element(resistor or reactor). The introduction merits of the SFCL were investigated quantitatively by RTDS/EMTDC from the viewpoint of current limiting performance, the prevention of the voltage drop at the load bus and comparison characteristics for two type SFCL. Desired design specification and operation parameters of SFCL were also given qualitatively by the performance evaluation of the two type SFCL in the power system.

  • Telemetering may be described as the art of metering at a considerable distance those quantities which are ordinarily encountered in industry, and in the generation of electric power. It is in the production of electric power that telemetering is particularly important, for it permits the system operator, or load dispatcher, to have before him at all times a continuous graphic record of the power output of each individual generating station together with an automatically made continuous graphic record of the total system output. There desired individual graphic records may be obtained showing power flow in or out, on important tie lines, etc. Such arrangements have the very great advantage that loads may be assigned to each generating station so that the best over-all system economy may be obtained and the system operator at all times may see with his own eyes that loads scheduled are actually held at the various stations. Moreover, with such equipment, in the event of system or station trouble the load dispatcher can see exactly what station, or stations, are affected and to what extent, without having to get in touch with anyone by telephone. Decisions can, therefore, be quickly reached for rescheduling the load. One of the most accurate and reliable telemetering systems is based on the use of potentiometric circuits, the fundamentals of which are discussed below. A member of such telemetering systems have been installed for the Boston Edicon Co., Boston, Massachusetts, the Consolidated Edison Co. of New York City. The Public Service Gas & Electric Co. of Newark, new Jersey. The Philadelphia Electric Co. for Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Railroad Co. for their electrified zone between New York and Washington a distance of over 200 miles. The scale of the totalizing recorder for the New York area is 3,000,00 KW. That of the totalizing recorder for the Philadelphia area is 2,000,000 KW. The initial installation using this type of equipment described was placed in service for the Philadelphia Electric Co. in 1923. All of the original recording instruments are still in service, later instruments have been added to take care of additions to the power system and naturally these later recorders have incorporated in those refinements in design made since the earlier ones were manufactured. Many other installations of similar equipment have been made in the United States in various locations such as at St. Louis, on the West Coast, at Baltimore and in Washington, D.C. While the use of these basic potentiometric circuits involves the use of continuous metallic circuits of good insulation resistance and free of grounds, nevertheless, intermediate transmission links, involving and impulse method suitable for use on telephone Morse carrier channels is available. This same method may be employed on power line carrier systems and is also suitable for use on beam type microwave transmission. Many impulse type units are also used as a link in these potantiometric methods. For the sake of brevity a description is given only of these basic potentiometric circuits. If there is sufficient interest in Korea, a further paper can be given covering those impulse circuits also.

인터넷을 이용한 정밀단조품의 품질평가 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of web based shape inspection system for the forging products having complicated shapes)

  • The outer race of the constant velocity(CV) joint is an important load-supporting automotive part, which transmits torque between the transmission and the wheel. The outer race is difficult to forge, because its shape is very complex and the required dimensional tolerances are very stringent. Therefore, the internet based shape inspection system is developed in this study to provide quick and accurate data through the easy control from users. Proposed system uses mechanical displacement sensors to measure the shape of CV joint that has six inner ball grooves, and commercially available Lab-View program is used to process measured data into the dimensional shape. Developed program provides a simple user interface that enables users real-time access of data measured from industrial production lines. Furthermore, it can exchange measured data via the internet between users and forging system operators. A java applet helped the system connection via internet. A data, IP access, is transmitted to the packet by TCP/IP. Our proposed system has many advantages over current measuring systems including fast and efficient data processing by real-time control, and system flexibility.

  • 본 논문은 전력설비에 조기적용이 예상되는 초전도한류기의 파라메타를 정의하고 앞으로 개발방향을 제시하기 위하여 한류기의 동작원리, 특성 및 계통조기적용가능성들을 근거로 파라메타의 특성을 비교 ·평가하였다. 또한 한류기의 계통적용효과를 분석하기 위하여 SFCL이 기간 특고압 모델계통에 도입한 경우를 상정하여 3선지락 고장에서 저항형과 유도형 SFCL의 도입 효과에 대하여 RTDS (Real Time Digital Simulation)/EMTDC(Electromagnetic Transient DC)로 시뮬레이션하였다. 특히 저항형과 유도형의 한류효과의 비교 평가, 모선전압의 저하 억제 및 계통과 한류기의 파라메타와의 관련성에 대하여 검토하였다.
