  • Since they use the low switching frequency in multilevel inverter systems, they generate the high low frequency harmonic components. Generally, LC filter is used at the output terminal of inverter systems to solve this problem. But it causes a voltage drop at the output terminal by use of damping resistors, and causes the problem in which system efficiency decreases due to power loss of the damping resistor. In this paper, we proposed an output filter design method for NPC three-level inverter systems with low switching frequency. And we analyzed the efficiency of the proposed filter system, and the effectiveness of the proposed system is verified by simulation and experimental results.

  • A modal filter is a tool used to extract the modal coordinates of each individual mode from a system's output. This is achieved by mapping the response vector from the physical space to the modal space. It decomposes the system's responses into modal coordinates, and thus, on the output of the filter, the frequency response with only one peak corresponding to the natural frequency to which the filter was tuned can be obtained. As was shown in the paper (Deraemecker and Preumont 2006), structural modification (e.g. a drop in stiffness or mass due to damage) causes the appearance of spurious peaks on the output of the modal filter. A modal filter is, therefore, a great indicator of damage detection, with such advantages as low computational effort due to data reduction, ease of automation and lack of sensitivity to environmental changes. This paper presents the application of modal filters for the detection of stiffness changes. Two experiments were conducted: the first one using the simulation data obtained from the numerical 7DOF model, and the second one on the experimental data from a laboratory stand in 4 states of damage.

  • The adaptive filter is proposed for removing EOG from measured EEG on the frontal lobe. The proposed adaptive filter has been implemented and the feedback output control algorithm has been employed to control the alpha wave ratio on the basis of TMS320C31 DSP board with the on-line and real time performance. The feedback algorithm controls the input voltage of stimulating devices on the portable bio-feedback system. The EEG data are acquired at the $F_{p1}$ and $F_{p2}$ localization and are processed by the proposed adaptive filter. We demonstrated that the proposed adaptive filter could effectively remove EOG from the measured EEG on the frontal lobe and the feedback algorithm is proper to control the output voltage of DSP board using the ratio of the alpha wave.

  • A high efficiency ZVS PWM asymmetrical half bridge converter for a plasma display panel (PDP) sustaining power modules is proposed in this paper. To achieve the ZVS of power switches for the wide load range, a small additional inductor L/sub 1kg/, which also acts as an output filter inductor, is serially inserted into the transformer's primary side. At that point, to solve the problem of ringing in the secondary rectifier caused by L/sub 1kg/, the proposed circuit employs a structure without the output filter inductor, which helps the voltages across rectifier diodes to be clamped at the output voltage. Therefore, no dissipative RC (resistor capacitor) snubber for rectifier diodes is needed and a high efficiency as well as low noise output voltage can be realized. In addition, since it has no large output inductor filter, the asymmetrical half bridge converter features a simpler structure, lower cost, less mass, and lighter weight. In addition, since all energy stored in L/sub 1kg/ is transferred to the output side, the circulating energy problem can be effectively solved. The operational principle, theoretical analysis, and design considerations are presented. To confirm the operation, validity, and features of the proposed circuit, experimental results from a 425W, 385Vdc/170Vdc prototype are presented.

  • A high efficiency ZVS PWM asymmetrical half bridge converter for a plasma display panel (PDP) sustaining power module is proposed in this paper. To achieve the ZVS of power switches for the wide fond range, n small additional inductor $L_{lkg}$, which also acts as an output filter inductor, is serially inserted to the transformer primary side. Then, to solve the problem related to ringing in the secondary rectifier caused by $L_{lkg}$, the proposed circuit employs a structure without the output filter inductor, which helps the voltages across rectifier diodes to be clamped at the output voltage. Therefore, no dissipative RC (resistor capacitor) snubber for rectifier diodes is needed and n high efficiency as well as low noise output voltage can be realized. In addition, since it has no large output inductor filter, it features a simpler structure, lower cost, less mass, and lighter weight. • In this paper, a modified-SOYA (soft output viterbi algorithm) of turbo codes is proposed for quantized channel receiver filter outputs. We derive optimum branch values for the Viterbi algorithm. Here we assume that received filter outputs are quantized and the channel is additive white Gaussian noise. The optimum non-uniform quantizer is used to quantize channel receiver filter outputs. To compare the BER (bit error rate) performance we perform simulations for the modified SOYA algorithm and the general SOYA

  • This paper describes an optimal design method of VSI output filter for CVCF system. The cost function is used for design, and all parameters are described in p.u(per unit) so that can be adapted to the change of CVCF rating. The capacitor current feedback scheme is proposed to control the damping ratio of the filter plant to meet the system more stable. This means that the LC resonance can be suppressed well in transient condition and can use the same control gains under the change of system capacity. The validity of the proposed method is well verified with the theoretical analysis and simulation results.

  • An electronically tunable current-mode second-order multifunctional filter is described in this paper. The proposed filter consists of two four-terminal floating nullors (FTFNs), two dual-output OTAs and two grounded capacitors. The circuit can simultaneously realize the lowpass, bandpass and highpass current transfer functions from the same configuration without changing the circuit configuration and elements. The natural angular frequency we and the parameter wo/Q can be orthogonally controlled through adjusting the transconductance gain of OTA. PSPICE simulation results are employed to confirm the circuit performance.
