A Plate type pipe is used for heat exchange in radiator of a vehicle. The pipe has several rooms through which water flows and heat is dissipated into outside . In the case that there are small holes, cracks or some scratches on the plate, the radiators lost their functions due to Leakage. This may result in overheating of engine in a car. Thus, we need to perform the entire inspection of the plate type pipe in advance before assembling the radiator. In manufacturing process of the plate type pipe, the productive speed is very high and that may be performed continuously. So, there is no room to perform the outlook inspection by typical image processing techniques. This paper proposes a new method to inspect the outlook surface of the plate type pipe automatically with high speed. Especially, the sequential processing technique of an algorithm which detects defects on the surfaces of the plate type pipe is proposed for line scan camera which captures line image. To evaluate the inspection performance, a series of experiments is performed.

Ladies and gentlemen, dear friends and colleagues, it is an honour and a pleasure for me to introduce this event dedicated to the world energy outlook. For a Group like EDF, decisions taken today will have a very long range impact, well into the century (2060-2100). Thinking about the future is therefore a truly useful exercise in the decision-making process. We are at a crossroads. It has been somewhat perplexing to see how widely future scenarios have tended to diverge. So, which path should be taken if all seem equally viable? Thankfully, it seems to me that we are in fact moving towards greater convergence on core issues. I ’m going to attempt to draw out the main points as to why this may be the case. I will first discuss the various scenarios, then the time, technological and political dimensions of the energy outlook.

Low temperature polysilicon (LTPS) TFT LCOs are in production today at sizes ranging from 0.33" for Viewfinders to 17" for LCD TVs with 21.3" recently demonstrated. Because of their form factor, resolution, brightness and other benefits, LTPS TFT LCD unit shipments, revenues and capacity are expected to grow rapidly, particularly for mobile applications. However, despite the strong outlook, LTPS TFT LCOs are still faced with numerous challenges from a market and technology perspective. LTPS TFT LCD producers were surveyed on which of the current challenges were the most problematic among other questions.

Refractory industry in technologically advanced countries has long been on gradual decline due to leveled-off steel production and decreasing unit consumption of refractories for steel. Notable technological achievements by refractory industry that contributed significantly to steel production are briefly reviewed covering from blast furnace, basic oxygen furnace to continuous casting. Future possibility to revitalize the refractory industry is discussed on the basis of the review, taking into account opportunities available in environment and energy related sector of industries.
