  • A turnout system which permits trains to pass from one track to another is a combination of the switch, the crossing, lead rails which are necessary to connect the switch and the crossing, two guard rails and a switch machine for operating the switch. A turnout is the sole moving part among the railway components and has complex configuration, so the safety has always been raised an issue. In Korea, it is planned to adopt the high speed tilting train, which operates at the maximum speed of 180km/h, at conventional lines by the year of 2010. However, for the application of the tilting train to conventional lines, it is prerequisite to establish a stable turnout system allowing the tilting train to pass through it without reducing speed. Therefore, the improved turnout system for the speed-up of conventional lines has been developed and the prototype of the turnout system has been constructed. In this study, evaluation of noise characteristics around the improved turnout system was performed through the field measurements. Field measurements of noise around the conventional and the high-speed turnout system were also carried out for the comparison.

Seismic and collapse analysis of a UHV transmission tower-line system under cross-fault ground motions

  • An ultra-high voltage (UHV) transmission system has the advantages of low circuitry loss, high bulk capacity and long-distance transmission capabilities over conventional transmission systems, but it is easier for this system to cross fault rupture zones and become damaged during earthquakes. This paper experimentally and numerically investigates the seismic responses and collapse failure of a UHV transmission tower-line system crossing a fault. A 1:25 reduced-scale model is constructed and tested by using shaking tables to evaluate the influence of the forward-directivity and fling-step effects on the responses of suspension-type towers. Furthermore, the collapse failure tests of the system under specific cross-fault scenarios are carried out. The corresponding finite element (FE) model is established in ABAQUS software and verified based on the Tian-Ma-Qu material model. The results reveal that the seismic responses of the transmission system under the cross-fault scenario are larger than those under the near-fault scenario, and the permanent ground displacements in the fling-step ground motions tend to magnify the seismic responses of the fault-crossing transmission system. The critical collapse peak ground acceleration (PGA), failure mode and weak position determined by the model experiment and numerical simulation are in relatively good agreement. The sequential failure of the members in Segments 4 and 5 leads to the collapse of the entire model, whereas other segments basically remain in the intact state.

조선초 고승 만공(滿空)과 적휴(適休)의 요동(遼東) 월경(越境)과 중국사찰 중창 (The crossing the border into Liadong by Mangong and Jeokhyu, the high priests in the early Joseon Dynasty, and the rebuilding of the Chinese, Buddhist temples)

  • 본고는 한국 불교사에서 거의 주목되지 않은 조선초 요동 월경과 월경승 만공(滿空)과 적휴(適休)의 중국 불교행적에 대해서 살펴보았다. 조선초 태종과 세종대의 대대적인 불교탄압 시책에 대하여 불교계가 속수무책으로 아무런 대응을 하지 않은 것이 아니라 불교계 나름대로 저항을 하였던 것이다. 특히 조계종의 나옹혜근과 태고보우의 문도 계열이 두드러졌다. 보우의 문도들이 주로 신문고를 치거나 불교의 자정을 주창하였으며, 나옹의 문도 계열은 무학을 중심으로 불교계를 재편하거나 탄압에 맞섰으며, 명(明)의 황제의 도움을 받아 불교계를 수호하고자 하거나 아예 요동으로 월경(越境)하기도 하였다. 월경을 시도하다가 해선(海禪)처럼 체포되기도 하였으나 태종대 만공(滿空)과 세종대 적휴(適休)처럼 월경하여 중국 불교계에 뚜렷한 행적을 남기기도 하였다. 만공(滿空)은 태종대 요동으로 월경한 11명 가운데 한 고승으로 홍도(洪道) 홍인(洪因) 등과 함께 하였는데 무학의 문도이자 나옹의 문손인 듯하다. 나옹의 문도인 듯한 만공은 월경후 북경에서 다시 해로로 이동하여 금릉 금릉(金陵) 천계사(天界寺)에 주석하다가 조선과 친근하며 유서가 있는 산동(山東) 태안(泰安)으로 이주하여 죽림사(竹林寺)와 보조선사(普照禪寺)를 중창하면서 불법을 널리 홍포하였다. 적휴(適休)는 세종대에 승려 신내(信乃)와 신휴(信休) 신담(信淡) 혜선(惠禪) 홍적(洪迪) 해비(海丕) 신연(信然) 홍혜(洪惠) 신운(信雲) 등 총 10명과 함께 요동으로 월경하여 북경에서 명 황제의 보호속에 산해관을 거쳐 금릉 천계사(天界寺)에 이주하였다. 그후 그들의 행적은 더 알 수 없으나, 적휴는 북경 곡적산(穀積山)에서 고려 승속이 거주하였던, 특히 나옹과 문도 무학 등이 머물렀던 영암선사(靈巖禪寺) 근처에 반야선사(般若禪寺)를 창건했다. 이와같이 이와같이 조선초 승려들은 국가의 탄압에 저항하거나 월경하였는데 태종과 세종대 만공과 적휴는 중국 불교계를 유력하면서 사찰을 중창하며 중국불교의 발전에 기여하였다.

역도 인상동작 불안정성 수준에 따른 발바닥 체성감각요인 분석 (Factor Analysis of the Somatosensory for Foot according to the Instability Level of Snatch Lifting)

  • Objective: It is to find factors related to stability through analysis of plantar pressure factors according to the level of instability when performing Snatch. Method: Foot pressure analysis was performed while 10 weightlifters performed 80% of the highest level of Snatch, and motion was classified and analyzed in 3 grades according to the level of instability. Results: First, in Bad Motion, the movement distance of the pressure center in the direction of ML and AP was larger significantly in Phase 2. Second, in Phase 2, the number of zero-crossing in the AP direction was larger statistically significantly in Good Motion. Third, in the bad motion in Phase 3, the number of zero-crossing in the ML direction showed a significantly larger value. Fourth, in Phase 4, it was found that the more stable the lock out motion, the greater the activity of foot controlling in the left and right directions. Fifth, Phase 3, the greater the Maximum/Mean foot pressure value, the more stable the pulling action. Sixth, in Phase 2, the foot pressure was concentrated with a wide distribution in the midfoot and rearfoot. Seventh, the triggering number of the forefoot region was small in the last pull phase. Eighth, the number of triggers in the toe area was significantly higher during Good Motion in Phase 4. Conclusion: Summarizing the factors of instability in Snatch, there was no significant difference in Phase 1 for each condition. In order to enhance the stability in Phase 2, the sensory control ability in the AP direction is required, and focusing the foot pressing motion with a wide distribution in the middle and rear parts increases the instability. In Phase 3, it was found that the more unstable, the more sensory control activity was performed in the ML direction, the stronger the forefoot pressing action should be performed for a stable Snatch. In Phase 4, It is important that the feet sensory control activity in ML directions and the control ability of the toes in order to have stable Lock out motion.

여성복 테일러드 재킷의 칼라제작요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Collar Construction Factors of the Women's Tailored Jacket)

  • The purpose of this research is to find out related factors to obtain the best collar pattern of the women's tailored jacket by analyzing the difference of the shapes between the drafted pattern and that of being stitched. The experimental conditions established are as follows. The position and angle of its break point, the notch and the width of the collar and lapel are kept unchanged. The collar decrease in neckline edge and the top collar larger than the under collar. The crossing point of gorge line is changed to make the collar's roll line straight. When the pattern is changed to make the outline of the lapel straight, the amount of cloth is changed too. According to the experimental conditions, The experimental clothes using muslin were made to. put on the manikin and the suitable methods of making the collar pattern were decided. In order to find out the influence of fabric materials on the jacket' shapes, Three kinds of wool fabrics were used and the results were evaluated. Summary of the research is as follows. When 0.5cm of the neckline edge is shortened, the standing part of the collar has less wrinkles, and its position looks natural and lastly, the material has slightly affected the collar's condition. It is desirable to make the top collar 0.2cm longer than the under collar. But the length should be different according to the fabric material. It it is thick cloth, the length has to be extended. To make the roll line straight, 0.4cm of the crossing point of gorge line should be corrected. The thick cloth needs more correction. To make the lapel's outline straight, it needs outwardly round 0.2cm more and materials make little difference to affect the shape.

야생동물의 도로 횡단 특성 분석 -도로횡단구조물 상의 눈 위 발자국 조사를 통하여- (Monitoring the Wildlife Use of Culverts and Underpasses Using Snow Tracking in Korea)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 겨울철 눈 위 발자국 조사를 통해서 도로횡단구조물(교량, 박스형 통로, 박스형 수로, 원형 수로)에 대한 야생동물 생태통로로서의 기능과 종별 이동 특성을 파악하는 것이다. 총 86개소의 구조물을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 입구의 면적이 넓을수록 동물들의 이용률이 높아졌다. 둘째, 원형 수로, 박스형 수로, 박스형 통로 등 조사된 모든 구조물 유형이 중소형 식육목에 속하는 너구리 삵 족제비의 생태통로 기능을 하고 있었다. 마지막으로 대형 초식동물인 고라니는 교량 하부로만 이동하는 것이 확인되었다. 따라서 고라니가 안전하게 이용할 수 있는 도로 구조물의 규격에 대한 연구가 향후 진행되어 고라니 의 교통사고와 서식지 파편화에 대한 취약성을 감소시켜야 할 것이다.

Feasibility of Bilateral Crossing C7 Intralaminar Screws : A Cadaveric Study

  • Objective : When the pedicle screw insertion technique is failed or not applicable, C7 intralaminar screw insertion method has been used as an alternative or salvage fixation method recently. However, profound understanding of anatomy is required for safe application of the bilaterally crossing laminar screw at C7 in clinic. In this cadaveric study, we evaluated the anatomic feasibility of the bilateral crossing intralaminar screw insertion and especially focused on determination of proper screw entry point. Methods : The C7 vertebrae from 18 adult specimens were studied. Morphometric measurements of the mid-laminar height, the minimum laminar thickness, the maximal screw length, and spino-laminar angle were performed and cross-sectioned vertically at the screw entry point (spino-laminar junction). The sectioned surface was equally divided into 3 parts and maximal thickness and surface area of the parts were measured. All measurements were obtained bilaterally. Results : The mean mid-laminar height was 13.7 mm, mean minimal laminar thickness was 6.6 mm, mean maximal screw length was 24.6 mm, and mean spinolaminar angle was $50.8{\pm}4.7^{\circ}$. Based on the measured laminar thickness, the feasibility of 3.5 mm diameter intralaminar screw application was 83.3% (30 sides laminae out of total 36) when assuming a tolerance of 1 mm on each side. Cross-sectional measurement results showed that the mean maximal thickness of upper, middle, and lower thirds was 5.0 mm, 7.5 mm, and 7.3 mm, respectively, and mean surface area for each part was $21.2mm^2$, $46.8mm^2$, and $34.7mm^2$, respectively. Fourteen (38.9%) sides of laminae would be feasible for 3.5 mm intralaminar screw insertion when upper thirds of C7 spino-laminar junction is the screw entry point. In case of middle and lower thirds of C7 spino-laminar junction, 32 (88.9%) and 28 (77.8%) sides of laminae were feasible for 3.5 mm screw insertion, respectively. Conclusion : The vertical cross-sectioned area of middle thirds at C7 spinolaminar junction was the largest area and 3.5 mm screw can be accommodated with 77.8 % of feasibility when lower thirds were the screw entry point. Thus, selection of middle and lower thirds for each side of screw entry point in spino-laminar junction would be the safest way to place bilateral crossing laminar screw within the entire lamina. This anatomic study result will help surgeons to place the screw safely and accurately.

Glycine max와 Glycine tomentella간 종간교잡 친화성과 정역교잡 효과 (Variation of Cross Affinity and Reciprocal Effect in Interspecific Hybridization between Glycine max and Glycine tomentella)

  • Glycine속의 야생 다년생종인 G. tomentella가 가지고 있는 내병성, 고단백 및 다년생 유전자등 유용형질들을 재배콩(G. max)에 도입하기 위한 종간교잡시 염색체수가 다른 4개의 G. tomentella (2n=38, 40, 78, 80) 계통들과 재배콩과의 교잡친화성 검정, 정역간 교잡효과, 교잡엽의 발육비교, 종간 교배적기 등에 대해 시험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. G. tomentella의 염색체수가 2n=38, 40, 78, 80인 4개 계통과 재배콩인 울산콩, 뱀콩, 단엽콩과의 종간 교잡에서 G. tomentella의 염색체수가 2n=38인 계통과 교배된 것이 교배율 및 교배후 경과일수에 따른 협생존률이 가장 양호하여 2n=38계통이 재배콩과의 교잡친화성이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 2. G. max(cv. Baemkong)와 G. tomentella(2n=38)와 종간교잡에서 정역교잡 효과는 G. max를 모본으로 했을 때가 G. tomentella를모본으로 했을 때보다 교배율이 더 높았고, 엽생존기간도 더 길어 정역교잡의 효과가 인정되었다. 3. G. max(cv. Baemkong)와 G. tomentella(2n=38)와의 종간교잡에서 교잡협의 발육상태를 자가수정된 모본의 협과 비교했을 때 G. max를 모본으로 한 것이 G. tomentella를 모본으로 한 것보다 협당 배주수의 감소율이 적었으나, 교배후 경과일수에 따른 협의 장, 폭 및 무게는 G. max를 모본으로 한 경우가 생육이 저조하였다. 4. 자연조건에서 G. max와 G. tomentella(2n=38)와의 종간 교잡을 할 경우 6월 이나 7월에 하는 것보다 대체로 온도와 습도가 높고 단일조건인 8월 중하구에 하는 것이 교배율이 높았다.

Study on collapse mechanism and treatment measures of portal slope of a high-speed railway tunnel

  • The slope of an open cut tunnel is located above the exit of the Leijia tunnel on the Changgan high-speed railway. During the excavation of the open cut tunnel foundation pit, the slope slipped twice, a large landslide of 92500 m3 formed. The landslide body and unstable slope body not only caused the foundation pit of the open cut tunnel to be buried and the anchor piles to be damaged but also directly threatened the operational safety of the later high-speed railway. Therefore, to study the stability change in the slope of the open cut tunnel under heavy rain and excavation conditions, a 3D numerical calculation model of the slope is carried out by Midas GTS software, the deformation mechanism is analyzed, anti-sliding measures are proposed, and the effectiveness of the anti-sliding measures is analyzed according to the field monitoring results. The results show that when rainfall occurs, rainwater collects in the open cut tunnel area, resulting in a transient saturation zone on the slope on the right side of the open cut tunnel, which reduces the shear strength of the slope soil; the excavation at the slope toe reduces the anti-sliding capacity of the slope toe. Under the combined action of excavation and rainfall, when the soil above the top of the anchor pile is excavated, two potential sliding surfaces are bounded by the top of the excavation area, and the shear outlet is located at the top of the anchor pile. After the excavation of the open cut tunnel, the potential sliding surface is mainly concentrated at the lower part of the downhill area, and the shear outlet moves down to the bottom of the open cut tunnel. Based on the deformation characteristics and the failure mechanism of the landslides, comprehensive control measures, including interim emergency mitigation measures and long-term mitigation measures, are proposed. The field monitoring results further verify the accuracy of the anti-sliding mechanism analysis and the effectiveness of anti-sliding measures.
