  • The performance of the Type3 hydrogen composite cylinder whose pressure is 70 MPa using hydrostatic cycling test equipment was evaluted in this study. It also includes the finite element method analysis on the performance of the cylinder when the pressure is applied. As a result, cylinder body parts of the Type3 hydrogen composite cylinder, which draws attention with its safe status and the lightness, was ruptured first and the same result has been found out through the finite element method. The dome knuckle and the cylinder body were proved as the weakest parts since the cylinder body parts was expanded under the pressure.

  • Gas hydrate has been paid attention to study for because: 1) it can be considered as a new energy resources; 2) one of reasons causing the instability of sea floor slope and 3) a factor to the climate change. Bottom simulating reflector (BSR) defined as seismic boundary between the gas hydrate and free gas zone has been considered as the most common evidence in the seismic reflection data for the gas hydrate exploration. BSR has several characteristics such as parallel to the sea bottom, high amplitude, reducing interval velocity between above and below BSR and reversing phase to the sea bottom. Moreover, instantaneous attribute properties such as amplitude envelop, instantaneous frequency, phase and first derivative of amplitude of seismic data from the complex analysis could be used to analyze properties of BSR those would be added to the certain properties of BSR in order to effectively find out the existence of BSR of the gas hydrate stability zone. The output of conventional seismic data processing for gas hydrate data set in Ulleung basin in the East sea of Korea will be used for complex analyses to indicate better BSR in the seismic reflection data. This result of this analysis implies that the BSR of the analyzed seismic profile is clearly located at the two ways time (TWT) of around 3.1 seconds.

  • This is a fundamental study to develop a bio-gas utilization technology using livestock manure. Especially, this study was carried out to develop an engine using bio-gas. A bio-gas engine was designed and manufactured by modification of a diesel engine of 3 cylinders powering 13.31 kW/2800 rpm, changing the fuel supplying system fit for bio-gas. The result showed that, when the Air/Fuel ratio was controlled with fixed spark timing, the power of biogas-fueled engine is about $10.6{\~}14.6\%$ lower then that of LNG-fueled engine because of low volumetric efficiency. The engine output and torque was $11.85{\~}13.3$ kW, $39.5{\~}40.8\;N{\cdot}m$, respectively at the engine speed of 2600 rpm. Bio-gas consumption rate was 260.20 g/kW/hr, 315.20 g/kW/hr in engine speed or 1000 rpm, 2800 rpm, respectively.

  • Recently, it has increased that the importance of gas pressure weldment of steel bars in large construction bars. But there has hardly been any studies about it. Therefore we need more research. SD40 steel bar (32mm in diameter) which has been practically used at construction sites are tested about tension, bonding, fatigue, a macro structure and micro structure at foil gitudinal section and hardness to fed out the mechanical property and best welding ranges in some cases of mechanical cut and gas cut before gas pressure welded. It is that a gas-pressure welded zone of steel bar where was cleaned of impurities in way of two-upsetted method is more excellent bending and tension property than the regulation of KD D 0244. Also gas cut bars gained hardness from the heat affected zone so. In conclusion, to improve the weldability of steel bars, it is considered best to clean mechanically cut sutra- faces and then weld them by a method of 2 step upset way.

  • For a hermetic reciprocating compressor, it has been known that the gas pulsation in the suction line affects the compressor performance, and suction muffler design has been focused on both of noise reduction and minimum pressure drop across the muffler. Some studies have been carried out on the mutual interaction between the gas pulsation and the cylinder pressure to investigate some supercharging effects, but their efforts were limited on rather simple geometries. In this paper, interaction of the gas pulsation in the compressor suction line with cylinder pressure via suction valve motion has been calculated; for the gas pulsation analysis, modeling of Helmholtz resonators in series was used, and for cylinder pressure calculation, energy equations was set up for the gas inside the cylinder. For demonstration of this calculation method, four different types of suction line configurations for a hermetic reciprocating compressor were compared in terms of compressor performance and gas pulsation level.

  • This study proposes a method to facilitate the identification of human error in calling out such qualitative risk assessment in Gas plants. The main idea of this method is based on the scheme of existing qualitative risk assesment technique. The guidewords and tabular worksheet are suggested to be compatible in human error analysis. By using this method developed, the maintenance procedure of Governor system in gas valve station was analyzed to discover the human error in maintenance tasks. As a consequence, certain human errors were identified and the suggested approches proved to be adequate technique for the human error analysis.

  • Purpose: Gas firms often fall victim to disregarding the importance of sensitivity, thus leading to many unprecedented repercussions. To ensure that gas firms fully contribute to sustainability and ethical standards, environmental Social Governance (ESG) has been identified as the ideal framework. This study aims to investigate the impact of ESG management for improving gas firm performance. Research design, data and methodology: The prior qualitative literature analysis was to figure out adequate past research for the topic based on the major portal web databased, such as 'Google Scholar' and 'Scopus' to make sure resources' credibility. Results: Gas firms are among the pertinent organizations vis-à-vis environmental destruction issues. Gas firms emit dangerous gases such as ethane, carbon dioxide and methane that are dangerous for the people and the environment. Thus, many pro-environmental conservation stakeholders have had rallying calls for such gas firms to mitigate environmental pollution intentionally. Conclusions: This study may be used to human resources in improving employee results elsewhere. Besides, it can be of the essence in improving the relationship between such firms and society. Therefore, the study findings are of greater significance and implications to multiple parties, users and stakeholders regarding the research topic and beyond the current scope of the study.

  • Small size gas turbine disk requires good mechanical strength and creep properties at high temperature. In this study, Waspaloy was used as a superalloy to satisfy these specifications. The control of microstructure was needed to satisfy material properties at high temperature. In order to do this, we studied forging conditions and material analysis. Therefore die and preform design conducted so that hot forged gas turbine disk could have a good microstructure. The die and preform shapes are designed with consideration of the predefined hydraulic press capacity and the microstructure of forging product. Also we carried out the hot compression test for Waspaloy in various test conditions. From these results, we obtained the forging conditions as material temperature, die velocity etc. To verify these forging conditions, we conducted FE simulations by means of the DEFORM 2D-HT. In this study, the hot closed die and preform designs were completed to offer high temperature material properties of a small size gas turbine.

  • Pipelines have the highest capacity and are the safest and the least environmentally disruptive means for transmitting gas or oil. Recently, failures due to corrosion defects have become a major concern in maintaining pipeline integrity. A number of solutions have been developed for the assessment of remaining strength of corroded pipelines. In this paper, a Fitness-For-Purpose(FFP) type limit load solution for corroded city gas pipelines is proposed. For this purpose, a series of burst tests with various types of machined defects were performed. Finite element simulations were carried out to derive an appropriate failure criterion. Based on such solution along with existing solutions, an integrity evaluation program for corroded city gas pipeline, COPAP-CITY, has been developed.

  • This paper describes a method for steady state hot gas flow analysis considering nozzle ablation for the nozzle of $SF_6$ gas circuit breaker. In order to take account of the effect of ablated nozzle material on the hot gas flow. the PTFE mass concentration equation is added to the established equations for hot gas flow analysis. The steady state simulations were carried out under the condition of DC current flows and the results are presented.
