공압 제진 시스템의 해석과 설계: I. 모델링과 전달율 계산 알고리즘 (Analysis and Design of a Pneumatic Vibration Isolation System: Part I. Modeling and Algorithm for Transmissibility Calculation)

  • This paper is the first of two companion papers concerning the analysis and design of a pneumatic vibration isolation system. The design optimization of the pneumatic vibration isolation system is required for the reduction of cost, endeavor and time, and it needs modeling and calculation algorithm. The nonlinear models are devised from the fluid mechanical expression for components of the system and the calculation algorithm is derived from the mathematical relationship between the models. It is shown that the orifice makes the nonlinear property of the transmissibility curve that the resonant frequency changes by the amplitude of excited vibration. Linearization of the nonlinear models is tried to reduce elapsed time and truncation error accumulation and to enable the transmissibility calculation of the system with multi damping chambers. The equivalent mechanical models generated by linearization clarify the function of each component of the system and lead to the linearized transfer function that can give forth to the transmissibility exactly close to that of nonlinear models. The modified successive under-relaxation method is developed to calculate the linearized transfer function.

  • 분리 삼중충돌 제트의 액상 혼합에 대한 실험적 연구결과를 통해 분리 삼중충돌 인젝터의 요소설계시 고려해야 할 기하학적 파라메타와 혼합성능을 고려하는 방법을 제시하였다. 실험은 비반응성인 케로신과 물을 사용하여 수행하였으며, 분사공의 기학적 조건과 분사조건(운동량비)에 따른 국소혼합비 분포를 측정하여 혼합효율 및 혼합특성속도를 산출하였다. 분사공의 각종 기하학적 요소와 운동량비에 따른 혼합효율 및 혼합 특성속도를 비교/분석하고 혼합성능과 연소성능과의 상관관계를 규명하였으며, 혼합의 정도를 향상시키는 설계점과 혼합성능 측면에서의 분리 삼중충돌 인젝터의 최적 설계조건에 대하여 고찰하였다.

Experimental research on 2 stage GM-type pulse tube refrigerator for cryopump

  • The experimental results of the 2 stage Gifford-McMahon(GM) type pulse tube refrigerator (PTR) or cryopump are presented in this paper. The objectives of his study are to develop design technology of the integral type 2 stage PTR which rotary valve is directly connected to he hot end of the regenerator and acquire its improved performance. Design of the 2 stage PTR is conducted by FZKPTR(Forschungs Zentrum Karlsruhe Pulse Tube Refrigerator) program for the design of pulse tube refrigerators. The fabricated PTR has U-type configuration and incorporates orifice valve, double-inlet valve and reservoir as phase control mechanism. Rotary valve is used to make pulsating pressure and is directly connected to inlet of $1^{st}$ stage regenerator. From experiments, cooling performance map and pressure waveform at each point were measured for different operating frequencies. Experimental results show the best cooling performance with 2 Hz operation in spite of small pressure amplitude. The lowest temperatures of the 2 stage PTR were 16.9 K at the second stage and 58.0 K at the first stage. The cooling capacities achieved were 14.4 W at 79 K, the first stage and 3.6 W at 29 K, the second stage.

인공심장판막의 개발과 동물실험 -인공심장판막의 2차 동물실험- (The Second Animal Tests of Artificial Heart Valves)

  • A heart supplies blood of about 15, 000 liters to each human organ in a day. A normal function of heart valves is necessary to accomplish these enormous work of heart. The disease of heart valve develops to a narrowness of a closure, resulting in an abnormal circulation of blood. In an attempt to eliminate the affliction of heart valves, the operative method to replace with artificial heart valves has developed and saved numerous patients over past 30 years. This replacement operation has been performed since early 1960`s in Korea, but all the artificial heart valves used are imported from abroad with very high costs until recent years. New artificial heart valves have been developed in Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology since early 1980`s. The first developed valve was designed with a free-floating pyrolytic carbon disk that is suspended in a titanium cage. The design of the valve was tested in vitro, and in animals in 1987. The results from this study was that the eccentrically placed struts creates a major and minor orifice when the disc opens and stagnation of flow in the area of the minor orifice has led to valve thrombosis. In this work, the design of the valve was changed from a single - leaflet valve to double - leaflet one in order to resolve the problems observed in the first - year tests. Morphological and hemodynamic studies were made for the newly designed valves through the in vitro and in vivo tests. The design and partial materials of the artificial heart valve was improved comparing with first - year`s model. The disc in the valve was modified from single - leaflet to bi - leaflet, and the material of the cage was changed from titanium metal to silicon - alloyed pyrolytic carbon. A test was made for the valve in order to examine its mechanical performance and stability. Morphological and hemodynamic studies were made for the valve that had been implanted in tricuspid position of mongrel dogs. All the test animals were observed just before the deaths. A new artificial heart valve was designed and fabricated in order to resolve the problems observed in the old model. The new valve was verified to have good stability and high resistance to wear through the performance tests. The hemodynamic properties of the valve after implantation were also estimated to be good in animal tests. Therefore, the results suggest that the newly designed valve in this work has a good quality in view of the biocompatibility. However, valve thrombosis on valve leaflets and annulus were found. This morphological findings were in accordance with results of surface polishing status studies, indicating that a technique of fine polishing of the surface is necessary to develop a valve with higher quality and performance.

$CO_2$ 흡수용 $100Nm^3$/hr급 Vortex Tube의 에너지분리 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Energy Separation of the $100Nm^3$/hr Vortex Tube for $CO_2$ Absorption)

  • 볼텍스튜브는 고압의 가스를 이용하여 고온 가스와 저온 가스를 분리하거나 입자상 물질의 분리에 사용할 수 있는 장치이다. 이러한 볼텍스튜브의 에너지분리 특성과 물질분리 특성을 활용하여, 연소가스로부터 $CO_2$를 흡수하는 장치의 핵심부품으로 적용할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 $CO_2$ 흡수용 볼텍스튜브의 기본설계 자료를 구축하기 위하여 에너지분리 성능실험을 수행하였다. 설계를 위한 기초 자료를 확보하기 위하여, 볼텍스 발생기의 오리피스 직경, 노즐면적비 및 튜브의 길이가 에너지분리 특성에 미치는 영향력을 실험을 통하여 분석하였다. 결과적으로 오리피스 직경이 볼텍스튜브의 성능에 지배적인 설계인자임을 확인하였으며, 노즐면적비와 튜브길이의 영향력은 미미하였다. 오리피스 직경이 작고(Dc=0.6D), 노즐면적비가 중간 이상(AR=0.14~0.16)이며, 튜브 길이가 긴 모델(L=16D)이 저온 출구 측과 고온 출구 측의 열전달에서 가장 우수한 성능을 나타내었다. 본 연구의 결과는 $CO_2$흡수용 $100Nm^3$/hr급 볼텍스튜브의 기본설계 자료로 활용될 예정이다. 볼텍스튜브를 적용한 $CO_2$흡수 공정을 적용하면 기존의 대형 흡수탑 대비 상당한 공간과 에너지의 절감 효과가 기대된다.

ADAMS를 이용한 항공기 전륜착륙장치의 동적거동해석 및 최적설계 (Dynamic Behaviors and Optimal Design of an Aircraft Nose Landing Gear using ADAMS)

  • 본 연구에서는 KT-1 계열 항공기 전륜착륙장치의 동적거동을 분석하고 충격흡수효율을 향상시키기 위한 완충기의 최적설계가 수행되었다. 전륜착륙장치는 ADAMS를 이용하여 2자유도계로 모델링하였으며 운영/환경 조건을 고려한 해석결과는 낙하실험결과와 잘 일치하였다. 또한 최적설계변수를 선정하기 위해 오일밀도, 오리피스 단면적과 같은 완충기 파라미터를 변화시켜 동적거동 및 충격흡수효율에 미치는 영향을 분석하였으며, 해석 결과 완충기 파라미터가 다른 파라미터들보다 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 유용방향탐색법을 사용하여 최적설계를 진행하였고, 최대효율을 나타낼 때 설계변수의 값을 산출하였다. 이러한 방법으로 전륜착륙장치의 최적설계를 통해 충격흡수효율과 동적거동능력을 향상시킬 수 있었다.

  • Response time of actuator in a hydraulic system may be important and necessary to avoid failures and to improve the efficiency of operation. Flow restricting devices can result in a decrease in the peak pressure, but may change the response time. The response time has an important effect on both operator and operator perceived smoothness. The response time should correspond to how fast a system responds to a given disturbance at the system boundary, Occasionally the appropriate response time is not easily determined. This study is on the characteristics of response time in the hydraulic system.

  • In the pneumatic system, pneumatic cylinder is wildly used to factory automation. In general, Pneumatic cylinder problems are occured with colliding to stroke end part at which piston collide to end-cap, head cap and tube when piston is loading. This appearances have a short life of cylinder and is due to system destruction. This study examines the dynamic characteristics of pneumatic cushioning cylinder and cushion sleeve design. At head part cushion chamber for the vertical experimental, The decisions of cushioning effect and the results of the experimental research are obtained to the followings: i) The cushioning effects could acqure to the reserch, if the compressible energy is more than kinetic ones. ii) The collision of piston and head cover could acqure to the research, if the kinetic energy is more than compressible iii) If the load increase to the rolling car, the cushion region pressures would increase and the dynamic force.

  • This paper refers to the results of a study on the usefulness of simulation techniques based on both modeling and experiments of KICK DOWN pressure control circuit using an duty solenoid valve controlled by pulse width modulation for an automatic transmission. In this study, dynamic characteristics of solenoid valve plunger and first pressure are verified. Besides, this paper shows the design data for improvement of feeling in changing of gear by means of simulation according to varying the size of jet orifice and temperature of automatic transmission fluid, which are the important variables of the first pressure.

  • The results of previous works on the wave energy conversion do not seem to be satisfactory due to irregularity, and the non-linear hydrodynamic effect which is inevitably featured due to the structural complexity of the ocean wave energy conversion device. These may cause the difficulty estimating the extracted wave power. In this paper a study on estimating the extracted wave power and its ratio. The present authors have developed another method estimating the extracted wave power using the three dimensional source distribution method, which was turned out to be an improved one. It has been observed that the present results may be used for the control of the wave energy conversion device and the optimal design has been derived from the several case studies.
