Under the needs to study the predictors of the frontline employees' service-oriented organizational citizenship behaviors(OCBs) in the hotel industry, this study aimed to the influence of goal orientations on the OCBs. The two factors of performance goal and learning goal orientations were hypothesized to influence each dimension of OCBs(loyalty, service delivery, and participation). The data from 266 five star deluxe hotel employees were analyzed with descriptive statistics, multi-variate analysis of variance, and structural equation modeling conducted using SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 20.0. The results showed learning goal orientation positively influenced all dimensions of the OCBs while performance goal orientation positively influenced all dimensions except loyalty. These results suggest that hotel practitioners need to seek the applicants who are willingly oriented to specific goals at recruiting process. Furthermore, hotel organizations need to utilize the employees' goal approach to motivate their performances.

Recently, numerous government institutions and information service organizations have shown interests in employing ISO 9001 Quality Management System(QMS) to increase their organizational performances. However, due to the gap between the system requirements and the process oriented goals in reality, they have not been able to merit from the ISO 9001 QMS. So, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information(KISTI) has been designed a process oriented system by incorporating the process analysis results into the existing ISO 9001 system requirements for enhancing organizational competitiveness and promoting productivity through a process standardization. As a result, KISTI has been ISO 9001:2000 certificate in November 11, 2003. And we obtain a improvement of customer satisfaction and efficiency of work, reduction of work processing time using KQMS.

This study analyzed the effect of degree of using online trade process services provided by e-Trade companies on the degree of user satisfaction and the online export performance in Korean small and medium-sized exporting firms(SMEs). According to the empirical survey results based on 130 sample firms, there were positive relationship among the frequency of using e-Trade companys' service, the degree of user satisfaction and the online export performance. Furthermore, the results of the moderated regression analysis showed that there were significant moderation effect of the organizational characteristics on the relationships between the degree of user satisfaction and the SMEs' online export performances. This study provides several useful implications to Korean SMEs and e-Trade companies and government policy makers.
Utilizing fit theory in strategic human resource management, this study examines the impact of two HR practices on newcomer turnover rates. While there is a growing body of research identifying the linkage between high-performance work systems(HPWS) and improved organizational performance through higer employee commitment, little research addresses how specific mechanisms among the systems deliver different performances to organizations. Using management by objective(MBO) and job rotation in HPWS, we found a strong main effect of each practice-it decreases newcomer turnover rates. This main effect becomes stronger when one practice combined with another, showing synergy exists. Linking HPWS research to turnover, this study provides insightful evidence of interactions between MBO and job rotation for organizational performance.
The relationship between buyers and sellers is changing into a long-term relationship. A number of distribution channel researchers have determined that the behavior of distribution channel members can be characterized by relational exchanges. The members of relational distribution channels may be perceived as strategic partners; however, even within these arrangements, member asymmetries may exist, which can create unequal distributions of power and dependence. Thus, as all distribution channel members may not be equal in power, it is possible that a less-dependent channel leader may emerge. Therefore, leadership in distribution channels is a very important variable. Distribution channel leadership can be defined as the activities undertaken by the distribution channel leader to influence the marketing programs and strategies of channel members. A distribution channel's performance is influenced by the leadership style of the channel leader. Although research on channel leadership styles can be broadly categorized, many researchers have dealt with analyzing distribution channel leadership by using the power-influence approach, which includes looking at variables, such as power, power base, and influence strategies. Moreover, they have examined the direct relationship between leadership styles and performance. Many distribution channel scholars have attempted to justify the application of leadership styles identified in alternative leadership theories to the inter-organizational context of distribution channels. They have made suggestions regarding how great the usefulness of leadership style as a strategy is to secure the compliance of distribution channel members and have conceptually and empirically linked it to channel-related phenomena, such as manifest conflict, cooperation, channel efficiency, and effectiveness. However, as few empirical studies have examined the antecedents and consequences of leadership styles, research on leadership style can be considered nascent. Thus, it is required to investigate the antecedents and consequences of the leadership style of a distribution channel leader. This study aims to empirically identify whether there are influences of the antecedents of leadership on two different leadership styles, and to reveal whether these leadership styles induce any consequences. The research subjects were 220 franchisees. Research findings are as follows: First, the results show a positive effect of technological capability on transformational relationships. However, it does not have a significant effect on transactional leadership. Second, innovation-oriented organizational culture has negatively influenced both leaderships. However, task-oriented organizational culture positively and significantly influenced both forms of leadership. Third, the ethics of leaders has influenced both leadership styles positively and significantly. Fourth, regarding consequences, transformational leadership strengthens financial performances, whereas it weakens relational citizenship behaviors. However, transactional leadership positively influences relational citizenship behavior whilst negatively affecting financial performance.

In these environment, to maintain competitve power, shipping firms process operations by Logistics Information system(LIS), And then, reduce the working processes, working time and its costs. So the LIS has become more important in developing our national logistics system and industry. Therefore, this study purposes on empirically analyzing the activation factors of shipping LIS and the relationship these factors with logistic performances in the shipping industry. Considering environments of Shipping logistics information system, this study sets up the research model and hypothesis to examine the activation factors of shipping LIS and the relationship these factors with logistic performances. We used the field data on the 163 numbers of firms(29 overseas shipping companies and 133 forwarding Agency) to get the empirical evidence. According to the study results, The shipping LIS activation factors which the sample firms recognized as important: were top manager's support, well structured communication channel, strategic plan's connection and inner informationalization level. And IS organization & human resources, IS discipline & training, software development, IS organizational alignment, database management system, information standardization, competitive advantage, financial support and government support represent partially significant. Also, the current shipping LIS's main problems are expensive system cost, standardization of working process's, institution's imperfection and system's interaction defect. So these problems must be improved to activate shipping LIS.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the participation of vocational training program of construction engineers and the impact of workplace learning (formal learning and informal learning) on human resource performances of construction engineers. The data of 306 construction engineers were extracted from 10,069 workers in various industries those were collected by 6th human resource company panel survey done by Korea Research Institute of Vocational Education & Training. This study found that, compared with workers in other industries, participation rate of construction engineers in workplace learning (formal learning, informal learning) was relatively low, and especially the participation rate of informal learning was significantly low. Regression analysis showed that participation in formal learning did not affect positive job performance and job satisfaction. On the other hand, informal learning has a positive effect on job capability, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment.
Few previous researches have been studied in terms of franchisees' perceptions of franchisors' entrepreneurial activities within the boundary of restaurant franchising industry settings. The sampling frame for this study included 605 restaurant franchisees in the business-format franchising system in Korea and data were collected from 1 October 2009 to 28 February 2010. This study, from franchisees' views, investigated the relationship among franchisors' entrepreneurship, external environment, organizational structure(mechanistic-organic) and managerial performance, with structural equation modeling(SEM). The research findings were, firstly, external environment positively affected entrepreneurship which positively affected market orientation and managerial performance, and secondly, market orientation made franchisors select organic structure and heighten managerial performance. Also, external environment led franchisors to adopt organic structure and aggravated their managerial performance. The implications of these findings were as follows. Firstly, the more franchiors had initiatives, innovatedness and risk-taking attitudes, the higher they had managerial performances and market orientation. Secondly, franchisors should keep and heighten market share with keeping in mind with customer orientation, competition orientation, harmony between departments, long-term orientation and profitability. Thirdly, continuous and cautious environmental scanning was necessary because external restaurant environment made organizational structure being changed and managerial performance being aggravated.

Given the large investment and prevalence of knowledge management (KM) in organizations, it has become important to analyze the effects of KM activities on organizational performances. A theoretical framework is proposed to investigate the impact of KM activities on innovation capabilities in the IT service industry. This study considers KM activities as the major determinant that enhances absorptive capacity. KM activities enhance employees'ability to obtain external knowledge, resulting in increasing intellectual capital. Thus, this study proposes that absorptive capacity plays a mediating role between KM activities and innovation capability. Additionally, this study investigates the key antecedents of KM activities that promote employees' knowledge sharing. Based on prior studies on KM, this study posits KM team activities and top manager support as KM activities. The proposed research model was tested by using survey data collected from 556 employees in the IT service industry. PLS (partial least squares) was employed for the analysis of the data. The findings of this study showed that KM activities and absorptive capabilities play a significant role in enhancing service innovation and process innovation in the IT service industry. The results also shed light on the mediating role of absorptive capacity between KM activities and innovation capability. Moreover, both KM team activities and top manager support serve as the salient antecedents of promoting employees' knowledge sharing.
