Main findings are: (a) virtuous cycle of healthcare service innovation and organizational innovation, (b) intensive training and learning, (c) usage of external resources, (d) high commitment HRM system, (e) CEO leadership, and (f) synchronization of planning and execution. Based on these findings, managerial implications are derived and future research directions are proposed.
This review aims to synthesize social network theories by drawing on the importance of social network perspectives in understanding knowledge management with technology in organizations. I provide an overview of prior social network research with the following core ideas: the primacy of relations between organizational actors, the utility of actors' embeddedness in social fields, the social utility of network connections, and the structural patterning of social life. On top of that, I summarize critical social perspectives (the social capital theory, the structural hole theory, the embeddedness perspective, the social exchange theory, the organizational learning theory, and the innovation diffusion theory) to suggest potential research questions for future studies in social network research in the knowledge management discipline.
In today's turbulent business landscape, a firm's ability to explore new IT capabilities and exploit current ones is essential for enabling organizational agility and achieving high organizational performance. We propose IT exploration and exploitation as two critical organizational learning processes that are essential for gaining and sustaining competitive advantages. However, it remains unclear how the emerging cloud-based IT architecture affects an organization's ability to explore and exploit its IT capabilities. We conceptualize modularity and virtuality as two critical dimensions of emerging cloud-based IT architecture and investigate how they affect IT exploration and exploitation. We test our hypotheses using data obtained from our field survey of IT managers. We find that modularity is positively associated with both exploration and exploitation whereas virtuality is positively associated with exploration, but not with exploitation. We also find that the effect of modularity on exploitation is stronger than its effect on exploration.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of self-leadership of Korean aircraft mechanics on organizational effectiveness and to investigate whether safety culture has mediating effect. The theory of leadership, which has emerged since the 1940s, has been an important and key research issue in the social sciences for the last decade and has evolved as a brand-new theory through the theory of characteristics, the theory of behavior, and the theory of situation. The new leadership theory has been extended to charismatic leadership, transformative leadership, empowerment leadership, super leadership, and self-leadership of organizational members as a new flow leadership. On the other hand, there was a precedent study on the relationship between leadership and safety culture, and this study started with interest in the relationship between self-leadership, safety culture and organizational effectiveness. As a result, safety culture has been proved to play an moderating variable in the relationship between self-leadership of Korean aircraft mechanics and organizational effectiveness. Especially, among the sub-factors of the self-leadership, self-goal setting, self-reward, and natural reward have been shown to affect organizational effectiveness in combination with the sub-factors of the safety culture, learning culture and flexible culture.

In an ever-tougher competitive environment caused by globalization, domestic companies are increasingly adopting business strategies aimed at continuously securing competitive advantage by taking advantage of globally-competitive foreign professionals. Despite a persistent rise of such trend, domestic researches regard migrant workers as the socially underprivileged, and delve into the issue of migrant workers from the policy, welfare, and ethical perspectives. With a growing need to deal with migrant professionals from the strategic viewpoint - to acquire professional talent in an era of global competition, it becomes essential to verify the real effectiveness of migrant professionals. Yet, there has been relatively little discussion of it. This study assumes that based on th137e integration-learning perspective on diversity, the greater the number of foreign professionals, the greater the effect on organizational innovative performance. Also could be effective in managing diversity is diversity-friendly HRM which involves eliminating discrimination against migrant professional workers and treating them fairly. Based on the data collected from 72 domestic companies, this study conducted an empirical analysis of the impact of the percentage of foreign professionals in the total workforce on organizational innovative performance and of the moderating role of diversity-friendly HRM. The results show that the proportion of foreign professionals in the entire workforce has had no significant impact on organizational innovative performance, and that the proportion of foreign professionals in the total workforce and diversity-friendly HRM have had a interaction effect on organizational innovative performance. Based on these research results, the study attempted to interpret the significance of the proportion that migrant professionals make up of the total workforce and of diversity-friendly HRM in relation to organizational innovative performance, and their implications for diversity management.
The purpose of this study is to explain the long term growth and development of elementary teachers' Professional Learning Communities(PLC) about mathematics implemented on an institutional basis. Especially, it is meaningful to analyze and present the development process and characteristics of PLC, which was started by the basis on the collaboration of a National University of Education and its affiliated elementary school. In this study, PLC activities during three years were analyzed according to the capacities and dimensions of a professional learning community. The developmental capacity of the PLC analyzed in this study can be summarized as follows. In the first year, development of organizational competence in terms of capacity, resources, structure, and system of exchanges was the main factor in personal competence, and the development of individual competence began to share collective learning and practice. In the second year, personal exchanges were active in all the topics of activities, and personal level competence was activated such that more activities of critical knowledge formation were performed on an individual level. The propose of this study was to analyze the relationships among the levels of training & development evaluation (reaction, learning, transfer). The study has been conducted on 730 trainees who attended in the basic accounting program in L training and development institution through three incidents of tracked research such as reaction survey right after the conclusion of training, learning evaluation through test, and an evaluation of the transferability after 3 months of training. Questionnaires and test papers for analyses were used after their reliability, validity, difficulty, and discrimination have been verified on a pre-test. The research has been conducted for six months from 4 March 1996 to the end of August 1996, and data have been collected through direct research and survey through mail. The collected data have been worked on at SAS program for Windows with a statistical significance level of 5%. Statistical method that had been used was Pearson's correlation coefficient. The result and conclusion acquired from this study were as follows: Between reaction and learning, learning and transfer of training, only a weak positive correlation exists and explanation or prediction variance showing hierarchical relationship was quite weak with 1%. Thus, this research not only does not strongly support Kirkpatrick(1976)'s hierarchical model of $reaction{\rightarrow}learning{\rightarrow}transfer$, but also indicates that the separate measurement on each levels of training evaluation needs to be done. On the other hand, there was a relatively strong positive correlation between reaction and transfer of training. Based on the result, the conclusion, and the restriction perceived through this study, the following suggestions were made. 1. There is a need to empirically analyze and verify the hierarchy of all levels of training evaluation including the evaluation of the fourth level (result) such as organizational productivity, organizational satisfaction, and separation rate. 2. A great deal of efforts will be needed to systematically analyze what the relationships are among the methods measuring the level of evaluation of the training and development, and to apply this result to the training field.
Purpose Recently, many organizations are actively adopting enterprise architecture (EA) as a methodology to manage IT assets and build IT-based business system. This study intended to empirically examine how the role of EA operating unit and utilization capability of organizational members impact on system performance at the post-adoption stage. A balanced score card (BSC) is being used as a framework for a company's key performance indicator (KPI). Design/methodology/approach This study tried to investigate the causal relationship between the four perspectives of the balanced scorecard as an influencing factor of the introduction of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) on the financial value. In particular, the mediating effect between the customer's point of view and the business process point of view was investigated between the learning growth point of view and the financial point of view, and the interaction effect (regulating effect) of strategic linkage in the system introduction process was investigated. Findings The results of the study were first, that the organizational learning and growth perspective had a positive effect on the customer perspective, business process, and financial perspective. In addition, the customer perspective and the process perspective also had a positive influence on the financial perspective. Second, between the learning growth and financial perspectives, the customer perspective and the process perspective showed a partial mediating effect. Third, as for strategic linkage, the interaction effect between the customer perspective, the learning growth perspective, and the process perspective and the financial perspective was not significant. The results of this study are expected to provide a framework for performance evaluation to organizations that have introduced ERP systems.
