Synthesis of Hybrid Sol Based on ZrO2-SiO2 System and their Coating Properties

  • Organic-inorganic hybrid sol based on ZrO$_2$-SiO$_2$ system was prepared by sol-gel process. Firstly, ZrO$_2$ non-aqueous precursor sol was synthesized and then organosilane compounds which include epoxy silane (GPTS; 3-g1ycidoxypropyl tri-methoxysilane) and acryl silane (ACS; (3-(tri-methoxysilyl)propylmethacrylate)) were added to ZrO$_2$precursor sol for hybridization. Finally, com-mercial silica sol was added to improve the mechanical properties. Synthesized organic-inorganic Zr-hybrid sol was coated on polycarbonate substrate for enhancing it’s mechanical properties, especially hardness. Vicker’s hardness of polycarbonate sub strate was increased from 13.6 to 17.8 MPa and its pencil hardness was increased from 2 to 7 H, respectively, after coating and drying at 10$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 min.

내부식성이 우수한 졸-젤 전구체의 합성 및 이를 함유하는 유무기 하이브리드 코팅재 (Syntheses of Novel Sol-Gel Precursor Containing Anti-corrosive Functional Group and Their Uses in Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Coatings)

  • 내부식성이 우수한 기능기를 함유하는 새로운 졸-젤 전구체를 합성하고 이를 함유하는 유무기 하이브리드 코팅 조성물을 제조하였다. 코팅 조성물에는 통상의 졸-젤 전구체로 tetraethoxysilane을 사용하였고 비스페놀 A 타입의 에폭시를 실란화합물로 개질하였으며, 졸-젤 반응을 위하여 물과 HCl을 촉매로 사용하였다. 각 조성물은 졸-젤 전구체의 종류, 함량 등을 변화하여 다양한 코팅 조성물을 제조하였고 iron 기판위에 딥코팅하여 열경화하였다. 코팅된 iron 기판의 내부식성을 평가하기 위하여 염수분무시험과 전기화학적 임피던스 분광법을 사용하였는데, 내부식성 기능기를 함유한 유무기 하이브리드 코팅재가 일반적인 하이브리드 코팅재에 비해 매우 향상된 내부식성을 나타냄을 확인할 수 있었다. 내부식성 기능기를 함유한 코팅재의 경우, 0.1 M NaCl에서 500시간 이상 초기의 임피던스를 유지하는 반면, 일반적인 코팅재는 24시간 이후에 임피던스가 감소하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다.

Titanium Dioxide Nanofibers Prepared by Using Electrospinning Method

  • The synthesis of titanium dioxide nanofibers with 200-300nm diameter was presented. The new inorganic-organic hybrid nanofibers were prepared by sol-gel processing and electrospinning technique using a viscous solution of titanium isopropoxide (TiP)/poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc). Pure titanium dioxide nanofibers were obtained by high temperature calcination of the inorganic-organic composite fibers. SEM, FT-IR, and WAXD techniques were employed to characterize these nanofibers. The titanium dioxide nanostructured fibers have rougher surface and smaller diameter compare with PVAc/TiP composite nanofibers. The anatase to rutile phase transformation occurred when the calcination temperature was increased from $600^{\circ}C$ to $1000^{\circ}C$.

  • In the area of artificial photosynthesis, particularly for the generation of hydrogen form water, much attention has been paid on organic-inorganic hybrid system. Most of all, a dye/TiO2-combined system has been suggested and its potential utility was well manifested. However, due to its complicated nature of charge interactions in between dye and TiO2 -interface there remains a great challenge to establish the charge-activity relationship, per se light driven charge generation and recombination kinetics with respect to the amount of hydrogen produced. Further complexity of that hybrid system has been witnessed when sacrificial donor and aqueous media are considered. To unveil the operating mechanism on such a dye/TiO2-combined system, we have prepared organic dyes suitable to account for the effect of sacrificial donor as well as water interactions, and prepared the typical dye-grafted TiO2 films to investigate charge-activity relationship. Femtosecond flash photolysis clearly defined the dye effects anchored on to the TiO2 platform. In addition, photodynamic data contemplated well to the dye orientation proposed by the DFT calculations. Recent findings provide fundamental understanding on the dye-grafted TiO2 system and establish a firm background how future dye-sensitized organic-inorganic hybrid system can be designed for the light driven hydrogen generation from water.

  • In this study, we have been synthesized the dielectric layer using pure organic and organic-inorganic hybrid precursor on flexible substrate for improving of the organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) and, design and fabrication of organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) using small-molecule organic semiconductors with pentacene as the active layer with record device performance. In this work OTFT test structures fabricated on polymerized substrates were utilized to provide a convenient substrate, gate contact, and gate insulator for the processing and characterization of organic materials and their transistors. By an adhesion development between gate metal and PI substrate, a PI film was treated using $O_2$ and $N_2$ gas. The best peel strength of PI film is 109.07 gf/mm. Also, we have studied the electric characteristics of pentacene field-effect transistors with the polymer gate-dielectrics such as cyclohexane and hybrid (cyclohexane+TEOS). The transistors with cyclohexane gate-dielectric has higher field-effect mobility, $\mu_{FET}=0.84\;cm^2/v_s$, and smaller threshold voltage, $V_T=-6.8\;V$, compared with the transistor with hybrid gate-dielectric.

자동차용 냉연강판 SPCC와 냉연고장력강판 SPCF590의 유/무기 하이브리드 용액에 의한 내식특성 (Corrosion Resistance by Organic/Inorganic Hybrid Solution for Cold Rolled Steel of SPCC and SPFC590 for Automobile)

  • The cold-rolled steel sheet for automobile is liable to corrosion, and will be painting in a variety of ways for the anticorrosive. This paper was coated on cold rolled steel (SPCC and SPFC590) for automobiles using five kinds of organic/inorganic hybrid solution. This was evaluated corrosion resistance and so on by the salt spray. Corrosion area was less according to increasing of curing time in 2 types of steel plate with 5 types of the coating solution. No.1 solution was showed the best corrosion resistance regardless of the kinds of the steel sheet. It is judged that the melamin hardner had the role of bridge between $SiO_2$ polysilicate and urethan resin. Other properties were excellent in all solution.

  • Austenitic stainless steels generally experience the occurrence of chromium-depleted zones at the boundaries, known as sensitization, caused by the carbide precipitation that takes place due to a welding process or heat treatment. Normally, the depleted zones become the focus of the intense corrosion. In this study, the Cr-free organic/inorganic hybrid solution was developed, and the artificially degraded STS316S and STS347H with the solution-coating investigated the corrosion resistance by salt spray test. Both the OIBD-1 and OIBD-2 solutions improved the corrosion resistance of STS310S and STS347H. The corrosion resistance with the OIBD-1 solution was better than that of OIBD-2 solution. Additionally, Both solutions have been proven excellence in adhesion ability, boiling water resistance and flexibility. However, a problem of rubbing after the boiling was found out to be overcome.

스핀코팅 하드마스크용 유-무기 하이브리드 소재에 관한 연구 (Organic-inorganic Hybrid Materials for Spin Coating Hardmask)

  • 반도체산업은 고집적화된 회로를 요구하면서 미세 패턴을 형성하기 위해 계속해서 발전해가고 있다. 이에 반도체 산업에서 미세 패턴을 형성하기 위하여 하드마스크를 도입하여 사용되고 있다. 일반적으로 하드마스크는 화학증기증착법(CVD) 공정을 이용하여 다층구조로 제작된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 스핀공정이 가능하고 단층의 하드마스크용 조성물을 제조하기 위하여 유-무기 하이브리드 중합체를 이용하여 그 특성에 대하여 연구하였다. Silanol로 처리된 siloxane 화합물과 acetonide 그룹을 가지는 propionic acid를 에스터화 반응을 통하여 얻은 유-무기 하이브리드 중합체에 가교제 및 첨가제들의 첨가로 광학적, 열적, 그리고 표면 특성이 조절된 하드마스크 막을 제조하였다. 또한 하드마스크 막과 감광층의 식각비를 비교하여 유-무기 소재의 하이브리드 중합체에 대해 미세패턴을 형성시킬 수 있는 하드마스크 막으로써의 유용성을 확인하였다.

  • Barrier coating properties of PVA/$SiO_2$ on the flexible substrates (PEN) have been investigated. Thin layer of PVA/$SiO_2$ organic-inorganic hybrid materials were deposited on PEN substrate by the spin-coating. The optical properties and surface roughness of barrier layer on flexible substrate were characterized by AFM, UV-Vis and WVTR/ OTR.
