A Study on Properties of PVA/$SiO_2$ Organic-inorganic Hybrid Materials Barrier Layer Coated on Flexible Substrate (PEN)

  • Barrier coating properties of PVA/$SiO_2$ on the flexible substrates (PEN) have been investigated. Thin layer of PVA/$SiO_2$ organic-inorganic hybrid materials were deposited on PEN substrate by the spin-coating. The optical properties and surface roughness of barrier layer on flexible substrate were characterized by AFM, UV-Vis and WVTR/ OTR.

광촉매 코팅 광섬유의 IPA 분해 특성 연구 (A Study on the Degradation of Isopropyl Alcohol with $TiO_2-Coated$ Plastic Optic Fibers)

  • 본 연구에서는 광촉매 $TiO_2/P-25$를 POF에 코팅하여 IPA 분해 활성을 고찰한 결과, 코팅 시 용매의 조건은 에탄올에서 IPA의 분해효율이 가장 우수하였고 무기바인더(KR-400), 유기바인더(A-9540) 및 무$\cdot$유기 복합바인더(GPTMS, TMOS)중에서 유기 바인더인 A-9540을 사용했을 때 효율이 가장 우수한 것으로 나왔다. 유기 바인더는 광 분해반응에 의하여 바인더 자체가 분해되고 무기 바인더는 부착성이 떨어졌다. 유$\cdot$무기 복합 바인더 중에서 광분해 효율이 뛰어난 TMOS를 바인더로 선정하여 TMOS/P-25의 비율을 0.05부터 1로 바꾸어 광분해 실험을 수행한 결과, 바인더로써 TMOS의 첨가는 IPA분해 효율을 낮게 하였다.

  • 광 변색 물질로 1,2-bis(2,4-dimethyl-5-phenyl-3-thienyl)-3,3,4,4,5,5-hexafluoro-1-cyclopentene(BTHFC)를 사용하는 유-무기 혼성 코팅막이 금속 알콕사이드인 tetramethoxysilane(TMOS), 다양한 실란 커플링제, 그리고 용매와 같은 다양한 반응 조건하에서 제조되었다. 제조된 코팅 막 중에서 상대적으로 비극성인 실린 커플링제를 사용한 경우, 광 변색 유기물인 BTHFC는 우수한 흡광도 및 소색속도를 나타내었다. 더욱이 용매 THF 존재 하에서 TMOS와 methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPTMS)의 몰 비가 1:1로 하여 제조되었을 때 흡광도와 소색속도는 크고 빠른 것을 알 수 있었다. 연필강도는 TMOS의 함량이 증가할수록 증가한 반면, 투과도는 상대적으로 감소하였다.

Synthesis of Hybrid Sol Based on ZrO2-SiO2 System and their Coating Properties

  • Organic-inorganic hybrid sol based on ZrO$_2$-SiO$_2$ system was prepared by sol-gel process. Firstly, ZrO$_2$ non-aqueous precursor sol was synthesized and then organosilane compounds which include epoxy silane (GPTS; 3-g1ycidoxypropyl tri-methoxysilane) and acryl silane (ACS; (3-(tri-methoxysilyl)propylmethacrylate)) were added to ZrO$_2$precursor sol for hybridization. Finally, com-mercial silica sol was added to improve the mechanical properties. Synthesized organic-inorganic Zr-hybrid sol was coated on polycarbonate substrate for enhancing it’s mechanical properties, especially hardness. Vicker’s hardness of polycarbonate sub strate was increased from 13.6 to 17.8 MPa and its pencil hardness was increased from 2 to 7 H, respectively, after coating and drying at 10$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 min.

  • Transparent organic-inorganic hybrid hard coating films were prepared by the addition of $SiO_2$ or $ZrO_2$, as an inorganic filler to improve the hardness property, filler was highly dispersed in the acrylic resin. To improve the compatibility in the acrylic resin, $SiO_2$ or $ZrO_2$ is surface-modified using various silanes with variation of the modification time and silane content. Depending on the content and kind of the modified inorganic oxide, transparent modified inorganic sols were formulated in acryl resin. Then, the sols were bar coated and cured on PET films to investigate the optical and mechanical properties. The optimized film, which has a modified $ZrO_2$ content of 4 wt% markedly improved in terms of the hardness, haze, and transparency as compared to neat acrylate resin and acrylate resin containing modified $SiO_2$ content of 8 wt%. Meanwhile, the low transparency and high haze of these films slowly appeared at $SiO_2$ content above 10 wt% and $ZrO_2$ content of 5 wt%, but the hardness values were maintained at 2H and 3H, respectively, in comparison with the HB of neat acrylate resin.

자외선 경화형 유기/무기 복합코팅에 의한 폴리카보네이트의 내마모성 향상 연구 (Study on the Improved Abrasion Resistance of Polycarbonate Substrate by UV-curable Organic/Inorganic Hybrid Coatings)

  • 폴리카보네이트 표면에 spin-coating한 유/무기 복합 코팅막을 자외선 경화와 가열(12$0^{\circ}C$, 12시간)처리함으로써 약 4~13 $\mu\textrm{m}$ 두께의 투명한 내마모성 유/무기 복합코팅막을 제조하였다. 코팅용액은 무기상과 유기상을 각각 0 : 100, 20 : 80, 30 : 70, 50 : 50, 80 : 20 중량비로 혼합한 다음 광개시제, 증감제 및 계면활성제를 첨가하여 제조하였다. 무기상은 TEOS와 실란커플링제 MPTMS을 1 : 2 혹은 2 : 1몰비로 흔합하여 졸ㆍ겔 반응으로 제조하였으며, 유기상은 2관능형 urethane acrylate 올리고머, 다관능형 TMPTA와 HDDA를 4:3:3 wt% 비율로 흔합하여 제조하였다. 유/무기복합상의 화학적 변화는 FT-IR, $^{29}$ Si-NMR로 분석하였으며, 열분석과 코팅층 표면 형상은 TGA/DSC, SEM, AFM으로 분석하였다. 무기물의 함량과 실란커플링제의 첨가량이 증가 할수록 분자수준의 흔화도가 개선되고 표면 평활도와 내마모성도 향상되었다. 즉 약 10 $\AA$ 이하의 표면 거칠기와 약 15$0^{\circ}C$의 T$_{g}$를 나타내는 시료는 500회 마모시험 전후 단지 16%의 광투과도 감소만을 보인 반면에, 무코팅 폴리카보네이트를 46%의 광투과율 감소를 나타내었다..

열화한 STS316L에 대한 Cr-free 코팅액의 내식특성 (Corrosion Resistance Characteristics of Cr-free Coating Solution for Degraded STS316L)

  • In this study, we developed a Cr-free organic/inorganic hybrid solution and investigated its coating properties on degraded STS316L. Both the OIBD-1 solution and OIBD-2 solution had excellent corrosion resistance and adhesion ability. However, the solution had some problems in a boiling water environment. In addition, the flexibility was excellent, and the scratch resistance was relatively good.

  • The cold-rolled steel sheet for automobile is liable to corrosion, and will be painting in a variety of ways for the anticorrosive. This paper was coated on cold rolled steel (SPCC and SPFC590) for automobiles using five kinds of organic/inorganic hybrid solution. This was evaluated corrosion resistance and so on by the salt spray. Corrosion area was less according to increasing of curing time in 2 types of steel plate with 5 types of the coating solution. No.1 solution was showed the best corrosion resistance regardless of the kinds of the steel sheet. It is judged that the melamin hardner had the role of bridge between $SiO_2$ polysilicate and urethan resin. Other properties were excellent in all solution.

  • This study has developed an organic/inorganic hybrid solution according to amount of $SiO_2$ polysilicate, and the amount of melamine is constant. The three types of cold rolled steel were evaluated a corrosion resistance properties by using these solutions. $US_3M_3$ and $US_{11}M_3$ solutions were generate a lot of corrosion. $US_7M_3$ solution was excellent in corrosion resistance, regardless of the steel type. The appearance of coating by $US_3M_3$ and $US_{11}M_3$ solutions were bumpy surface, and were a lot of fine defects. $US_7M_3$ solution was made a sophisticated molecular cross-linking structure inside the coating, it was a slick surface. Other characteristics are exhibited the excellent property for all solutions.
