CMOS 회로의 ESD에대한 신뢰성 문제 및 보호대책 (Reliability Analysis of CMOS Circuits on Electorstatic Discharge)

  • Electrostatic Discharge(ESD) is one of the major reliability, issues for today's VLSI production. Since the gate oxide with a thickness of 100~300$\AA$ is vulnerable to several thousand volt of ESD surge, it is necessary to control the ESD events and design an efficient protection circuit. In this paper, physical mechanism of the catastrophic ESD damage is investigated by transient analysis based upon Human Body Model(HBM). Using two-dimensional electrothermal simulator, we study the failure mechanism of the output protection devices by ESD and discuss the design issues for the optimun protection network.

항만구조물 최적설계 시스템 (Optimum Design System of Port Structures)

  • These days much efforts have made all over the world in order to develop the integrated optimum structural design system that performs automated design process composed of the analysis, optimum design, drafting, and reporting. However, these types of design systems oriented extensively to port structures are rarely found. In this paper, the integrated optimun design system applied to gravity type port structures such as quay walls and breakwaters will be briefly presented. Highly sophiscated facilities necessary in optimum structural design including analysis and optimization are integrated into one system. Several types of gravity type port structures can be designed using this system. The application to the real ports and the efficiency of this system will be finally shown.

Head Slider Designs Using Approximation Methods

  • This paper presents an approach to optimally design the air bearing surface (ABS) of the head slider by using the approximation methods. The reduced basis concept is used to reduce the number of design variables. In the numerical calculation, the progressive quadratic response surface modeling (PQRSM) is used to handle the non-smooth and discontinuous cost function. A multi-criteria optimization problem is formulated to enhance the flying performances over the entire recording band during the steady state and track seek operations. The optimal solutions of the sliders, whose target flying heights are 12 nm and 9 nm, are automatically obtained. The flying heights during the steady state operation become closer to the target values and the flying height variations during the track seek operation are smaller than those for the initial one. The pitch and roll angles are also kept within suitable ranges over the recording band.

전자장 해석을 통한 매트릭스형 한류기용 리액터 설계 및 특성해석 (Design and Characterization of a Reactor for Matrix Type SFCLs Using Electromagnetic Field Analysis)

  • In this paper, we performed the optimum design of reactors for matrix-type superconducting-fault current limiters (SFCLs), using electromagnetic analysis tools. We decided a optimun position within a reactor for superconducting elements of current-limiting parts and trigger parts from the calculation of magnetic flux internsity for reactor structures. Also we decided effective distance length between two reactors through the analysis of the distribution of magnetic field, according to distance lengths between them. We designed and characterized matrix-type SFCLs, based on our optimum design of a reactor. We confirmed uniform distribution of a fault current, resulted from the improvement of simultaneous quench characteristics within our matrix-type SFCL.

  • Detailed estimation of subsurface resistivity distribution and accurate estimation of actual fault current coming into the grounding system are indispensible to optimun grounding system design. Especially, it is essential for efficient grounding design to estimate subsurface resistivity distribution quantitatively and logically. Accurate estimation of subsurface resistivity distribution has an absolute influence on calculating touch voltage, step voltage and ground potential rise (GPR) which are related with grounding design standard for human safety. In this study, thirty-three electrical sounding surveys were made in Yongdam Power Station to obtain detailed subsurface resistivity distribution and the sounding data were interpreted quantitatively using multi-layered model. The results of the quantitative resistivity models were adopted practically to calculate grounding resistance values. Analytical asymptotic equations and CDEGS program were used in grounding resistance calculation and the results were compared and reviewed in the study.

  • 본 연구에서는 초광대역증폭기를 설계하고자 GaAs MESFET 소신호 동가회로에 인덕터 피킹소자를 첨가하여 캐패시턴스의 영향을 감소시키는 주파수 피킹현상에 대하여 분석하였다. GaAs MESFET의 소신호 둥가회로의 전달함수로 부터 인턱터 피킹소자의 최적값을 유도하였으며, 매 우 균일이득을 갖는 귀환증폭모듈을 실현하였다. 실 주파수법에 의하여 입력과 출력단의 엄피던스정합회로를 설계하여 초광대역 마이크로파증폭기를 구현하였으며 컴퓨터 시률레이션에 의하여 셜계된 증폭기의 이득의 오차는 O.lGHz-12GHz에서 O.56dB의 매우 균일한 이득을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • The light weight aluminum subframe for automobile chassis part was developed using hybrid process, i.e. extruforming, press stamping and MIG welding. To achieve a 30 % weight reduction compared with conventional steel subframe keeping satisfactory performance, the design of cross-section of extruforming part was introduced, then forming simulation was performed and the final design was determined. In addition, we tried to estibilish optimun aluminum welding conditions for good penetration depth and few pore defact, finally the prototype of aluminum subframe was assembled using MIG welding method.

수직 층류형 클린룸의 바닥 패널이 실내기류에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Floor Pannel on Flows in a Vertical Laminar Flow Type Clean Room)

  • Uniformity of velocity is quite important design points of a vertical laminar flow type clean room. In the present paper, flows in a room with a bottom pannel are numerically simulated by using a low-Reynolds number $k-{\epsilon}$ model, and a new flow model of the pannel are suggested. Resistance coefficient of the pannel and size of the exhaust channel show considerable effects on flow pattern and uniformity of flow on the bottom. Reflection coefficient also has important roles. A possibility to obtain the uniform and unidirectional flow is tested by adjusting the distribution of resistance coefficient of the pannel. Such a numerical simulation of the flow will be a good method to get optimun design parameters.

The Optimization of Truss Structures with Genetic Algorithms

  • This paper investigated the optimum design of truss structures based on Genetic Algorithms (GA's). With GA's characteristic of running side by side, the overall optimization and feasible operation, the optimum design model of truss structures was established. Elite models were used to assure that the best units of the previous generation had access to the evolution of current generation. Using of non-uniformity mutation brought the obvious mutation at earlier stage and stable mutation in the later stage; this benefited the convergence of units to the best result. In addition, to avoid GA's drawback of converging to local optimization easily, by the limit value of each variable was changed respectively and the genetic operation was performed two times, so the program could work more efficiently and obtained more precise results. Finally, by simulating evolution process of nature biology of a kind self-organize, self-organize, artificial intelligence, this paper established continuous structural optimization model for ten bars cantilever truss, and obtained satisfactory result of optimum design. This paper further explained that structural optimization is practicable with GA's, and provided the theoretic basis for the GA's optimum design of structural engineering.
