Performance Test of 5MW Gas Turbine Engine Combustor (5MW 발전용 가스터빈 엔진 연소기 성능시험)

  • Performance test of 5MW class gasturbine combustor was carried out at combustor test facility of KARI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute). The combustor is dry low NOx type premixed combustor and fuel is natural gas. The characteristics of combustor were measured including emission, pressure pulsation and exit temperature distribution. Optimum operation point of combustor was found by changing parameters like fuel ratio between pilot and main burner. The test result showed that the combustor performance is sufficient to satisfy the gasturbine system requirement.

  • In this paper, material handing cleanroom stocker system for thin film solar cell line of photovoltaic industry and liquid crystal display line of flat panel display industry was selected for the study. Optimum solution for stocker system's CPS(Contactless Power Supply) is approached by changing the motion pattern, optimizing design & production, and analyzing characteristics of the power system. As a result, acceleration time of X-Axis changed from 3 sec to 4 sec, changed the input characteristic of CPS within approximately 11[kW]. This result shows that extending acceleration time of the X-Axis in Stocker Crane's motion pattern can reduce the capacity of the CPS, thus saving the manufacturing cost.

  • Physical, electrical and optical properties of Aluminum(Al) thin films were investigated in order to establish the optimum sputtering parameters in mirror reflection films. Al. thin films deposited on corning glass substrate by DC magnetron sputtering were grown as a variation of the input power, operation pressure and deposition time. The properties of the Al thin films have been discussed by deposition rate, SEM, XRD, sheet resistivity, resistivity and reflectance. Al thin films were obtained at the deposition conditions as follows: operating pressure, 3 mtorr; DC input power desnsitiy, 3W/$\textrm{cm}^2$.

  • The Tidal Power Plant Management is defined to devise the optimum operating plan and control generating output automatically to obtain maximum production by using adaptive control method. The method to use tidal level observation results is suggested as two(2) kinds of manner, that is the two(2) layer design method by power model simulation and power automatic control.

  • 최근 디지털기기의 개발 및 활발한 보급으로 전력산업에서도 운영시스템이나 설비들이 통합, 소형화되거나 다양한 기능을 보유하는 등 많은 변화가 진행되고 있다. 보호계전기 분야도 예외가 아니어서 우리나라의 많은 154kV배전변전소에는 기존의 유도원판형(Induction disc type) 보호계전기가 점차 철거되고 기계적인 동작시간을 고려하지 않아도 되는 디지털보호계전기의 설치비중이 급속히 확대되고 있는 중이다. 하지만 아직까지 우리회사의 배전선로 보호협조 운영기준은 아날로그 유도 원판형 보호계전기를 고려하여 제정되어 있기 때문에 합리적인 배전계통운영을 위하여 보호협조 운영기준도 디지털 환경에 알맞도록 개선되어야 할 것이다. 이 논문에서는 배전변전소에서 사용 중인 아날로그와 디지털보호계전기의 특성 및 차이를 비교 검토하고, 디지털 환경에 적합한 배전선로 보호협조 방안도출을 위해 "디지털계전기 기반의 배전선로 보호협조 최적운용방안"을 제시하여 보고자 한다.

  • A proportional intergral (PI) control strategy is commonly used for constant current and extinction angle control in a HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) system. A PI control strategy is based on a stactic design where the gains of a PI controller are fixed. Since the response of a HVDC plant dynamically changes with variations in the operation point a PI controller performance is far from optimum. The contribution of this paper is the presentation of the design of a rough set based, fuzzy adaptive control scheme. Experimental results that compare the performance of the adaptive control and PI control schemes are also given.

  • Recently, to solve the urban transportation problem, the introduction of Light Rail Transit system has been proceeded positively. therefore, development of the Korean standard LRT system in which safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness are emphasized. The Korea Railroad Research institute study on Rubber Tired AGT system of Light Rail Transit to obtain the essential technology and engineering know-how, which leads lower LRT construction cost. In the development procedure, SE(system Engineering) is needed for combination of subsystem and optimum operation effect. This study is focused on the interface of LRT subsystem(Development of the rubber tired LRT, Power supply system, signalling and train control system, Elevated track structure for the rubber tired LRT), a important part of SE, to develop of the driverless LRT system and establish the test and evaluation.

A Generalized Correlation and Rating Charts for Mass Flow Rate through Capillary Tubes with Several Alternative Refrigerants

  • A capillary tube, which is a common expansion device in small sized refrig-eration and air-conditioning systems, should be redesigned properly to establish an optimum operation cycle of a refrigerating system with alternative refrigerants. Based on experimental data for R-22, R-290, and R-407C, an empirical correlation is developed to predict mass flow rate through capillary tubes. Dimensionless parameters are derived from the Buckingham Pi theorem, considering the effects of operating conditions and capillary tube geometry on mass flow rate. Approximately $97\%$ of the present data are correlated within a relative deviation of $\pm\;10\%.$ The present correlation also predicts the data obtained from open literature within $\pm\;15\%.$ In addition, rating charts of refrigerant flow rate for R-12, R-22, R-134a, R-152a, R-407C, R-410A, R-290, and R-600a are developed.

  • The press formability analysis of welding parts was studied in the current work by the tailor welded blank. The press formability was tested by means of the flash weldability and the formability for two kinds of materials (SPCC & S35C). The results indicate that SPCC & S35C steel sheets showed good weldability and formability after an optimum welding conditions. The independent operation variables were characterized by strength of welding parts, deformation after the welding, press formability of welding parts and productibility of welding. The weldability and the quality of welding parts of the flashed SPCC steel sheet was superior to those of the S35C steel sheet, since a higher carbon content in steel sheet led to a higher hardness. The experimental results were discussed by the evaluation of the results obtained from tensile test, hardness test, micro-structure and V bending test.

Analysis of the battery charging and discharging system for spacecrafts (인공위성용 총방전 시스템의 해석)

  • A spacecraft power system can be divided into two types : DET system(Direct Energy Transfer system) and PPT system(Peak Power Tracking system). In a DET system employing the regulated bus voltage control method, the battery charger and discharger are widely used for the bus voltage regulation. The battery charger has two different modes of operation. One is the bus voltage regulation mode and the other is the charge current regulation mode. The battery discharger is employed to provide the power when the spacecraft is in the earth's shadow or the sun is eclipsed. The operating mode, charging or discharging, is selected by a power control circuit. In this paper, small-signal dynamic characteristics of battery charging and discharging system are analyzed to facilitate design of control loop for optimum performance. Control loop designs in various operating modes are discussed. Anaylses are verified through experiments.
