  • In this paper, the Interior Permanent Magnet Generator utilizing the power of the robot engine was designed. We designed considering the required power of the auxiliary power to be also used in robot. The rotor which is suitable for the high speed operation was designed. And the generator which utilized this finite element method (FEM) and can deliver the optimum output to the auxiliary power was designed.

  • This paper describes the design of the Ka-band Antenna/RF system, which was developed for the experiment of the high-speed satellite communications with geostationary satellite. The design issues described here are the ka-band characteristics for having an optimum performance. and the system characteristic for having a reliable and an extensional operation.

  • We've been investegated to find the optimum operation condition of electrlysis which have an influance on disposal efficiency of heavy metals. When we electrolyzed the testing wastewaters containing each 250mg/L of Cr and Zn ions, we exerimented with using variables like as pH, NaCl, electrode gap, electric current strength, the number of electrodes, after fastening positive electrode plate with Al, Fe, Ti and negative electrode plate with Stainless Steel Plate.

  • A digital logic demodulator for binary FSK signals is presented. The operation is based on the quadricorrelator which is known as an ideal frequency detector. The demodulator is especially suitable for high-speed application, and it can be easily implemented in integrated circuit. Computer simulation results show that the performance of the receiver with digital demodulator converges to that of analog quadricorrelator receiver as the number of mixing axes is increased and the optimum bandwidth depending on a modulation index is slightly wider than that of analog demodulator.

Evaluating the performance of direct manipulation input devices (직접조작방식 입력장치의 성능비교)

  • Direct manipulations are composed of pointing operations and dragging operations. In order to find the optimum design parameters (such as C/D ratio, moving direction) for the direct manipulation of a GUI(Graphical User Interface), an ergonomic experiment was devised (2*4*3*8 design) to measure the performance of a mouse (Microsoft) and a trackball (Logitech). The results showed that the mouse was more suitable for the direct manipulation (expecially for the dragging operation) than the trackball, and the suitable C/D ratio was 10 (for the mouse) and 16 (for the trackball). Also the movement direction was a determinant factor in trackball performance.

  • A multifunctional sensor is designed to measure viscosity, cleanness, temperature and capacitance of engine oil to make a clear decision on its condition. The simple structure helps easy fabrication and low cost while measuring four parameters by one sensor. The operation is described theoretically and is supported by experimental data. A fuzzy based algorithm to fuse the four kinds of data from multi-functional sensor in order to make a decision on the best time to change the oil is proposed.

  • In sawing operation of cubic zirconia, the performance of diamond cutter blade is very dependent on the blade variables. This investigation presents experimental results which show the effects of the blade variables such as concentration, grain size of diamond, types of diamond abrasives, and bond materials on the behavior of the blades. Based on the experimental results an optimum blade condition for the sawing of cubic zirconia was recommended.
