The paper presents a new global maximum search method for multimodal unknown functions of two variables. The search method is composed of two stages and sequentially samples the candidate point in a subdomain selected using a priority function in each stage. The search domain is auto-similarly divided into triangular subdomains, or cells, during the search process. A measure of accuracy of local maximum search is introduced to check if a local search has converged to a specified accuracy or the maximum of a local peak cannot be the global maximum. A criterion for switching from the first to the second stage, is proposed using a ratio of the observed peak width to the largest cell in the domain. By numerical simulations, the required number of trials is evaluated for some function models with different peak parameters, and the switching criterion is optimally determined. The results show that the proposed method obtains global maximum points with certainty and saves largely computation time even for functions with extremely steep peaks.

This study intends to investigate the optimal switching modes of a double-capacitive thermal system under different constraints on the state and the control variable, by the application of the Pontryagin's Minimum Principle. Throughout the development, the control effort is assumed to have two modes of state: M or zero and the terminal times being fixed. In the first part of this study, the Principle is discussed under various conditions for this particular problem, with different criterion functions and in the same time imposing a certain constraints; i) on the terminal states, ii) on functions of the terminal states. Depending upon the upper bound value of the control vector, possible driving modes of the states are studied from which particular optimal driving modes are extracted so as to meet the specified constraints and boundary conditions imposed in the problem. Numerical solutions are evaluated for an over0damped, double-capacitive thermal plant and the optimal solutions: the switching mode, the optimal switching time, and the control effort are compared with the analytical results, in the second part of this work, to confirm the development.

본 논문에서는 패킷 데이터 서비스를 지원하는 DS/CDMA 시스템에서 역방향 링크의 대기 패킷 버스트들이 겪는 평균 전송 시간을 최소화하기 위한 여러 가지 패킷 스캐줄링 방식을 비교 분석하였다. 모든 활성화된 데이터 사용자들이 동시에 전송을 하는 경우의 최적의 스케줄링 방식에 대하여 논하고 기존의 여러 가지 다른 전송률 스케줄링 방식들과의 수학적인 비교 분석을 통하여 평균 전송 지연을 고려한 전송률 스케줄링 방식의 효율적인 지표를 제시하였다.

유선 통신환경과 비교해서 무선 자원이 부족한 무선 환경에서는 매우 효율적인 패킷 전송 방식이 필요하다. 일반적으로는 이중 모드 패킷 전송 방식이 널리 사용된다. 스위칭 기준에 따라서, 패킷은 전용채널이 할당되거나 또는 공통의 채널을 통해서 전송된다. 일반적인 기준은 패킷의 길이와 생성 주파수이다. 즉 크고 발생 빈도가 높은 패킷은 전용 채널을 통해서 전송되고 작고 발생빈도가 낮은 패킷은 공통 채널을 통해서 전송된다. 이중 모드 패킷 전송 방식의 성능은 스위칭 기준과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 그렇지만 최적의 스위칭 포인트를 찾는 것은 매우 힘드는데 스위칭 포인트가 고정되어 있는 것이 아니라 트래픽 부하와 생성된 패킷의 길이와 채널의 수와 같은 환경에 따라 변동하기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 동적 스위칭 임계점(dynamic switching threshold)을 이용하는 이중 모드 패킷 전송 방식을 위한 새로운 기법을 제안한다. 이 방식에서는 스위칭 임계값이 네트워크 환경에 따라서 변동한다. 제안한 방식의 성능은 시뮬레이션을 통해 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 기존의 이중 모드 패킷 전송 방식과는 달리 제안한 방식의 성능이 네트워크 환경의 영향을 그다지 받지 않음을 보여준다.

시장구조 분석에서 흔히 사용되는 상표전환 자료는 비내구재 분석에 적절한 방법이 될 수 있으나 자동차 같이 사용연한이 장시간인 내구재의 경우에는 소비자의 상표에 대한 선호도가 변할 수 있어 상표전환 자료의 사용에 문제가 있다. 따라서 경쟁을 잘 포착할 수 있는 다른 접근이 필요하다. 본 연구는 이에 대한 대안으로 상표간 경쟁 자료로써 고려상표군을 이용하여 자동차 시장의 구조를 Latent Class 군집분석을 활용한 탐색적 검증방법으로 분석하였다. 또한 소비자 행동분석에 근거하여 상표간 경쟁의 근간을 이루는 고려상표군 형성에 영향을 미치는 인자들을 밝히는데 중점을 두었다. 미국 자동차 시장을 대상으로 분석한 결과, 시장은 상표 원산지 효과에 의해 구분되었다. 즉, 미국 상표, 유럽 상표, 그리고 아시아 상표 등으로 시장이 구분되었다. 또한 각 시장구조 내 소비자들의 고려상표군 형성에 신뢰성/안전, 이미지/즐거움, 경제성 등의 편익과 성별, 소득 등 개인적 요인이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
