  • In this papers, Study on the Bonding property and Strength Evaluation in Bonding interface Joints of Dissimilar material using DOE. We found optimal condition that uses experimental design method (Response Surface Analysis, DOE) used temperature, pressure, time on experiment factor. And we could get bonding condition and strength that break and crack do not happen in mechanical processing about united dissimilar material. And progress 3 point bending tests and verified result.

  • The important problem in high speed spindle is to reduce and minimize the thermal effect by motor and ball bearings. In this study. the effects of bearing preload and cooling for high speed spindle with high frequency motor are investigated. A high speed spindle is composed of angular contact ball bearings, high frequency motor, grease lubrication, oil jacket cooling, and so on. Heat generation of the bearing and the high frequency motor are estimated from the theoretical and experimental data. The thermal analyses of high speed spindle to minimize the thermal effect and maximize the cooling effect are carried out under the various cooling conditions and preload. Method of variable bearing preload and cooling can be useful to design the high speed motor spindle. The results show that the optimal preload and cooling are very effective to minimize the thermal displacement by motor and ball bearing.

  • An adaptive control in the robotic GMA welding is employed to monitor information about weld characteristics and process parameters as well as to modify those parameters to hold weld quality within acceptable limits. Typical characteristics are the bead geometry, composition, microstructure, appearance, and process parameters which govern the quality of the final weld. The main objectives of this thesis are to realize the mapping characteristics of bead width through learning. After learning, the neural estimation can estimate the bead width desired form the learning mapping characteristic. The design parameters of the neural network estimator(the number of hidden layers and the number of nodes in a layer) are chosen from an estimation error analysis. A series of bead of bead-on-plate GMA welding experiments was carried out in order to verify the performance of the neural network estimator. The experimental results show that the proposed neural network estimator can predict the bead width with reasonable accuracy and guarantee the uniform weld quality.

  • This paper is concerned with the vibration control of multi-layer structure for ultra-tall buildings and main tower of large bridge etc. We have modeled the multi-layer structure with the distributed mass system as the lumped mass system of two-degree-of-freedom structure and made experimental equipment. The LQ optimal control theory is applied to the design of the control system. The designed control system is simulated by computer. As a result, the LQ regulator showed good vibration control performance with impact excitation.

  • An analysis method to predict performance of a vehicle cooling system which is composed of radiator, A/C condenser, cooling fan, and etc. is suggested. Air flow through the heat exchanger system and heat rejection rate which dominate the cooling performance are analyzed. Heat transfer with A/C refrigerant phase change is also considered in the analysis. Some predicted results are compared with experimental data for various operating conditions. This evaluation procedure will be useful for the design of optimal vehicle cooling system.

  • We investigate the triboelectrostatic separation of polyvinylchloride (PVC) from mixed plastics in the laboratory scale triboelectrostatic separation system. The flow and electric fields in the precipitator are obtained from the numerical solution of finite volume method. Using these flow and electric fields, we solved the particle motion equation considering the inertia, drag, gravity and electrostatic forces acted on the particles. The particle trajectories are obtained using a Lagrangian method as a function of different important variables such as Reynolds number, Stokes number, electrostatic force, electric charge and electric field distribution, inclined angle of plane electrodes, particle rebounding, particle charge decay rate after impact on the electrode surface, etc., in order to determine the optimal design conditions. The present predicted results for the cumulative yield represent well the experimental ones.

  • Chlorination dosage in water treatment plant of field is determined by chlorination demand experiment through two or three hours after raw water was sampled in inflow. It is impossible to continuously control for real time because the sampled water is adapted chlorination dosage after water treatment process had been proceeded. Therefore in this study, we will design informal chlorination demand system, this designed system will be experimented as to water quality and accuracy of control in various conditions. Throughout these experimental results, we will revise the system and the revised system is enable to optimal control of chlorination dosage. Finally, we have developed chlorination demand system, which can automatically determination of chlorination dosage to be determined according to variety of raw water quality inflow in water treatment plant.

  • In gun stabilization systems, the torque comes from the unbalance mass of gun and the base acceleration is an important source of disturbance which degrades stabilization performance. Fatigue of gear train is another important factor affecting structural safety problems. In this paper, a feedback control gain is designed by optimal control weighting to difference between motor and gun velocity, and a feedforward controller using FXLMS algorithm is adopted to investigate those problems. Experimental results show that the feedforward compensator based on FXLMS can reduce the disturbance effects. The directional convergence property according to initial conditions of the FXLMS is also shown through experiments.

  • Due to its ability in producing a net-shape product to high precision in a very shot cycle time, injection molding has become one of the most important polymer-processings in the industry today. Recently the CAE applications in the field of injection molding have provided significant contributions to the mold design and process optimization. As a part of such an application the packing process has been studied using C-PARK. The prediction of pressure variations during post-filling stage for amorphous material has been compared with an experimental observation for a simple rectangular geometry of uniform thickness. And the optimal packing processes were calculated using the cavity pressure curve near the gate. As a case study, a warpage simulation was carried out for a DY-HOLDER with the variable number of gates.
