LightTools 사용자 고급세미나 교육이 (주)모던하이테크의 주최로 2012년 4월 30일부터 5월 4일까지 5일 동안 연세대학교(신촌캠퍼스)에서 진행되었다. 이번 컨퍼런스는 광학설계 전문인재 양성의 목적을 위해, Synopsys 본사의 LightTools 교육담당엔지니어인 Dr. Jake Jacobsen가 직접 한국을 내방하여 강의를 진행하였다.

Taste sensation is the process of converting chemical identities in food into a neural code of the brain. Taste information is initially formed in the taste buds on the tongue, travels through the afferent gustatory nerves to the sensory ganglion neurons, and finally reaches the multiple taste centers of the brain. In the taste field, optical tools to observe cellularlevel functions play a pivotal role in understanding how taste information is processed along a pathway. In this review, we introduce recent advances in the optical tools used to study the taste transduction pathways.

(주)모던하이테크(대표이사 김명중)는 지난4월 14일(월)부터 4월 16일(수)까지 3일간 'LightTools$^{(R)}$ Advanced Training (특별 조명 광학설계 실습 고급 교육 세미나)'이라는 주제로 세미나를 진행했다. (주)모던하이테크의 LightTools$^{(R)}$ 교육 세미나는 미국 SYNOPSYS 사의 Mary Kate Crawford 기술담당자가 직접 내한하여 Light-Tools$^{(R)}$의 실무기술 이론부터 실습위주의 강의로 진행됐다. 해당 교육은 지난 3월에 진행된 CODE V$^{(R)}$ 교육 참가자들의 높은 만족도로 인해 새로 개설된 교육이다.

광학설계 프로그램 전문업체인 (주)모던하이테크(대표 김영중, www.okmodern.com)는 지난 5월 10일부터 11일까지 양일간 서울 교육문화회관에서 '2010 LED핵심조명기술 및 CODE V & LightTools 컨퍼런스를 개최했다. '광학인의 날'이라는 주제로 한국광학기기협회와 전자신문 등이 후원한 이 행사에는 130여명의 국내 광학인들 외에 미국 Optical Research Associates(이하 ORA)사의 CEO인 Mr.Goerge Baze를 비롯한 임원진들이 함께하여 직접 비전을 소개하고 향후 국내 유저들을 위해 적극적인 서비스 지원을 약속했다.

The investigation of the space environment requires the use of experimental and theoretical tools and resources in order to perform the research task. Understanding of these research tools is imperative for proper interpretation of the results. In this paper, we discuss on research tools that are widely used in the field of aeronomy; Fabry-Perot interferometer and Michelson interferometer. These instruments have been used extensively as passive optical devices, spectrally monitoring the natural atmospheric emissions (airglow). This function has made both instruments valuable tools in upper atmospheric studies since they provide the ability to determine the dynamic and thermodynamic properties of the upper atmosphere by monitoring naturally-occuring emission.
