  • In near field optics, optical fiber probe is smaller than the wavelength of light. This small probe makes it possible to overcome the diffraction limit due to wave property of light. In conventional optical systems, the image resolution is governed by wavelength. But in NSOM, it is determined by probe tip size and probe shape. Therefore probe tip size and shape are very important points in near field optics. In this paper, we will suggest the new fabrication methods of optical fiber probe and show that the probe tip size is sub-micrometer using SEM.

  • In this paper, we study the optical characteristics of low iron glass for photovoltaic modules fabrication. Tow types of glasses are examined by optical transmittance and reflection measurement. Also, by making laminated glass, we analyze the difference between glass maker. Mini-PV module is fabricated to compare optical reflectance through lamination process. Anti-reflection and catalyst-coated glasses are suggested for advanced technology to obtain high electrical generation output. The specific analysis is shown in the following paper.

  • Position reading devices such as optical encoders are most essential components in numerical control (NC) machines and robots. Fabrication process of optical NC-scales was developed for domestic production. The whole process using photo-lithographic techniques consists of about 10 steps. The process parameters were to be carefully determined through many trial experiments. The scale marks of metal film was printed on a glass substrate. The optimum values of various process parameters were extrilcted. The quality of scale marks was attributed to the each process parameters.

  • This paper presents fabrication techniques of the optical fiber position sensor (or spindle state monitoring. These include selection of components such as optical fibers, a laser-diode, a photo-diode, and op-amp IC of the signal process circuit. We also describe electric runout problem. The fabricated sensor has a linearity of $1.7\%$ FSO in the air gap range $0.1\~0.6mm$, a resolution of $0.37{\mu}m$ and a bandwidth of 6.3kHz. Finally, we have successfully operated a magnetic bearing spindle system using the sensors.

  • Metal nanoparticle doped glasses have various applications such as use as photochromic media for optical disk data storage, the fabrication of optical waveguides and waveguide lasers, use as all-optical switches due to their nonlinear optical properties, as well as use in the color glass recycling industry. Recently, an ultrashort pulsed laser has been used as a powerful tool to make microscopic modifications to transparent Metal nano particle doped glasses. (omitted)

  • LGP is a key component of LCD back light unit because it determines the brightness and sharpness of display image. Usually, it has optical patterns fabricated on the bottom surface. In the present paper the LiGA-reflow method was applied to fabricate the LGP mold. Furthermore, the optical simulation considering the replication ratio of pattern height was applied to the pattern design. The optical simulation through systematic correction scheme helped find the optimum distribution of pattern density. Finally, the stamper fabricated by this method was installed in the mold and LGP was produced by injection molding. As a result of luminance measurement for the final product, the average luminance and luminance uniformity was measured 3,180 nit and 84%, respectively. Consequently, the mold fabrication method using the LiGA-reflow and optical simulation(CAE) can save the expense and time compared with the existing fabrication methods(laser ablation and chemical etching).
