The fast image encryption algorithm based on substitution and diffusion

  • A fast image encryption system based on substitution and diffusion was proposed, which includes one covering process, one substitution process and two diffusion processes. At first, Chen's chaotic system together with an external 256-bit long secret key was used to generate the key streams for image encryption, in which the initial values of Chen's chaotic system were regarded as the public key. Then the plain image was masked by the covering process. After that the resulting image was substituted with the disturbed S-Box of AES. Finally, the substituted image was diffused twice with the add-modulo operations as the core to obtain the cipher image. Simulation analysis and comparison results with AES and some existing image cryptosystems show that the proposed image cryptosystem possesses the merits of fast encryption/decryption speed, good statistical characteristics, strong sensitivity and etc., and can be used as a candidate system of network security communication.

  • We propose a background subtraction method for moving cameras based on trajectory classification, image segmentation and label inference. In the trajectory classification process, PCA-based outlier detection strategy is used to remove the outliers in the foreground trajectories. Combining optical flow trajectory with watershed algorithm, we propose a trajectory-controlled watershed segmentation algorithm which effectively improves the edge-preserving performance and prevents the over-smooth problem. Finally, label inference based on Markov Random field is conducted for labeling the unlabeled pixels. Experimental results on the motionseg database demonstrate the promising performance of the proposed approach compared with other competing methods.

  • A 3D model based approach for a face representation and recognition algorithm has been investigated as a robust solution for pose and illumination variation. Since a generative 3D face model consists of a large number of vertices, a 3D model based face recognition system is generally inefficient in computation time and complexity. In this paper, we propose a novel 3D face representation algorithm based on a pixel to vertex map (PVM) to optimize the number of vertices. We explore shape and texture coefficient vectors of the 3D model by fitting it to an input face using inverse compositional image alignment (ICIA) to evaluate face recognition performance. Experimental results show that the proposed face representation and recognition algorithm is efficient in computation time while maintaining reasonable accuracy.

  • Machine vision is a technology that helps the computer as if a person recognizes and determines things. In recent years, as advanced technologies such as optical systems, artificial intelligence and big data advanced in conventional machine vision system became more accurate quality inspection and it increases the manufacturing efficiency. In machine vision systems using deep learning, the image quality of the input image is very important. However, most images obtained in the industrial field for quality inspection typically contain noise. This noise is a major factor in the performance of the machine vision system. Therefore, in order to improve the performance of the machine vision system, it is necessary to eliminate the noise of the image. There are lots of research being done to remove noise from the image. In this paper, we propose an autoencoder based machine vision system to eliminate noise in the image. Through experiment proposed model showed better performance compared to the basic autoencoder model in denoising and image reconstruction capability for MNIST and fashion MNIST data sets.

  • 본 고에서는 광인터넷에 대하여 현재까지 IETE, ITU-T 및 OIF(Optical Internet Forum)을 중심으로 최근에 활발하게 추진되고 있는 표준화 동향을 살펴본다. 특히 광을 기반으로 MPLS(Milti-Protocol Label Switching) 기술을 적용하려는 Generalized MPLS 기술을 중심으로 분석한다. 먼저 IETE에서 MPLS 기술을 중심으로 분석하다 먼저 IETF에서 MPLS WG에서 기본 MPLS 기술에 대한 표준을 지속적으로 작업하고 있으며 여기에서의얻은 기술을 바탕으로 IPO Wg과 CCAMP WG 등에서 광 네트워크 구조를 제안하고 있으며 여기에 새로운 시그널링과 계층적 경로 설정 메커니즘 및 신뢰성 있는 보호/복구 등의 부가적이 기능들을 추가하기 위한 작업을 하고 있다 또한 OIF 에서는 UNI 신호 규격을 정하고 있으며 ITU-T에서 광 전달 네트워크 (OTN)와 관련하여 ASTN/ASON(Automatic Switched Transport Network/Automatic Switched Optical Network)을 포함하여 광 네트워크에 대한 구조적 측면뿐만 아니라 전송 및 망 관리 측면에 대학 규격을 제정 중에 있다.

Optical Ozone Monitor Using UV Source

  • Two types of ozone monitors using UV absorption method were tried in consideration of cost of the monitor and precision in measuring. The high concentration ozone monitor for high concentration real time ozone monitoring from ozone generator was composed of a low pressure mercury lamp as UV source, a photo multiplier tube as UV detector and signal processing unit for the most part. This structure could be very useful for low price high concentration ozone monitor due to simple system structure and fairly good monitoring characteristics. The developed system showed good linear output characteristics to ozone in the measuring concentration range of 0.05 and 2 wt.%. For accuracy ambient ozone monitoring in ambient in ppm level, the system composed of a high power pulsed xenon lamp as UV source, an optical spectrometer with a high sensitivity linear CCD array as UV detector and signal processing unit in brief speaking was proposed our study for the first time in the world. The developed system showed good linearity and sensitivity in relative low measuring range between 10ppm and 10,000ppm, and showed some feasibility of high resolution ozone monitor using CCD array as photodetector.

A Weighted Scheduling Mechanism to Reduce Multicast Packet Loss in IPTV Service over EPON

  • This letter proposes a weighted scheduling mechanism for Internet protocol television (IPTV) to improve the loss performance of multicast transmission over an Ethernet passive optical network (EPON). We propose a new weight policy from the number of multicast receivers to proportionally allocate the downstream bandwidth of IPTV traffic. The proposed mechanism is used in an optical line terminal to decrease lost packets of favorite IPTV services because the lost multicast packets are proportional to the number of receivers. The total proportion of lost multicast packets is reduced by up to 73% in an EPON.

  • In this paper, we report the results of the field trial test of 1GbpsX16channels Injection locking FP-LD based WDM-PON system which could guarantee 40Mbps minimum bandwidth per subscriber, We have confirmed the system reliability, also verified that the system could reliably deliver the service such as internet, VoD through the systems during the field trial test.

  • As increasing the Internet traffic, many researches on access network are reported for end-to-end highspeed broadband network, where E-PON (Ethernet-Passive Optical Network) is one of reasonable candidates for the network with respect to cost and bandwidth utilization. For the high-speed access network, E-PON needs an efficient bandwidth allocation method. This paper describes a WFBA (Water-Filling Bandwidth Allocation) algorithm for the efficient bandwidth allocation with various simulation test. Based upon the simulation test, we suggest several ways to improve performance of E-PON.
