  • Armed aircraft of a basic trainer class installs external stores under wing box by using pylon and performs an operation such as weapon delivery and jettison, and should be designed to withstand all kinds of loads applied to external stores. The static strength test of pylons and wing box was performed to assess the static strength of pylon and their support structures for substantiation. Based on the test, the structures were verified to fully satisfy a given design requirement. In this paper, methods of test load generation of wing box and pylon, evaluation of test result data and design result of test set-up were presented. Comparing the FEM analysis with the same test data can lead to good match and reasonable deviation between both. Finally, based on the test and the analysis, the static strength of test article was substantiated and the reliability and effectiveness of analysis math model were obtained.

  • Many production methods are tried to enhance the productivity efficiency. Parallel connected floating cranes are one of the examples to lift mega-blocks quickly and efficiently. However, a general operation manual to operate parallel connected floating cranes and a method to consider risks during lifting operation are not confirmed. And if each floating crane is operated by itself, it is very hard to cooperate. Therefore, Synchronized operation system is installed to control parallel connected floating cranes simultaneously and to be informed of each floating cranes data. And weighting factor is calculated by considering all hazards during the operation and the general operation manual is confirmed based on the factor. This paper introduces the procedure for lifting operations by parallel Connected Floating Cranes using synchronized operation system, and its applications to lifting operation of a heavy cargo such as barge lifting test, floating dock installation and 900 ton goliath crane replacement operation, etc.

  • COMS (Communication Ocean Meteorological Satellite) is the geostationary satellite being developed by Korea Aerospace Research Institute for multi-mission: experimental communication, ocean monitoring and meteorological observations. The COMS operation is controlled by the on-board software running on the spacecraft central computer. The software is written in ADA language and developed under the software life cycle: Requirement analysis, Design, Implementation, Component test and Integration test. Most functional requirements are tested at component level on a software component testing tool, ATTOL. ATTOL provides a simple way to define the test cases and automates the test program generation, test execution and test analysis. When two or more verified components are put together, the integration test starts to check the non-functional requirements: real-time aspect, performance, the HW/SW compatibility and etc. This paper introduces the COMS on-board software and explains what to test and how to test the on-board software at component level using ATTOL.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze publicness by the types of childcare centers, and factors related to publicness in the operation of childcare centers. The subjects of this study were 511 childcare centers. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, F-test, Duncan's post hoc test, and regression. The findings of the study were: First, Among childcare centers, Public childcare centers were high in universality, transparency and participation. But family daycare homes and private centers were low in universality, transparency, participation, and openness. Second, public childcare centers, family daycare homes, private childcare centers, major city and medium-sized cities affected universality in the operation of childcare centers. Public childcare centers, social welfare foundation childcare centers, family daycare homes, private childcare centers and proportion of capacity affected transparency in the operation of childcare centers. Public childcare centers, family daycare homes, private childcare centers and proportion of capacity affected participation in the operation of childcare centers. Government able to accomplish publicness in the operation of childcare centers if it would strengthen management process and expanded financial for childcare centers.

  • This paper presents the screw conveyor operation efficiency of shield TBM in soft ground. In order to study the screw conveyor operation efficiency, the experimental and theoretical studies were carried out. In experimental study, the operating amounts of muck were examined and compared due to the screw conveyor operating parameters including types (Shaft and Ribbon screw), angles of screw and conveyor. The results obtained from the laboratory model tests were analysed and evaluated to suggest the most suitable muck operating parameters during the shield TBM tunnelling in soft ground. In conclusion, it is found the operation parameters to increase the screw conveyor efficiency. In addition, the information presented in this paper may be useful for developing the design technology of shield TBM in the future.

  • In this paper, we examined the problems of the flare operation of tactic maneuvering flight of fighter aircraft with 150GL center external fuel tank and proposed the possible solution of it's operation. The damage scope of horizontal fin of fuel tank and flare trajectory when the flare ejected from the maneuvering aircraft were analyzed by the wind tunnel test and the numerical analysis. We investigated the two different option to avoid the damage of fin; i) the adjustment of flare dispenser angle and ii) the change of horizontal fin's shape. For the considering of practical operation of present system, we chose the second option. We estimated the drop safety of external fuel tank with redesigned fin by the wind tunnel experiments.

  • As absorption type heat pump for waste heat recovery is installed in combined cycle power plant for Energy Service Company, performance test is implemented to confirm the operation data on partial load. The operation data changes according to the heat pump operation on partial load are as follows. Total heat output increases, because waste heat of closed cooling water and a portion of LP steam from HRSG is supplied. But electric power output of steam turbine is reduced, because LP steam to steam turbine is reduced. And heat output from HP district heater and LP district heater is reduced, because HP turbine exhaust steam to HP district heater and LP district heater is reduced. On partial load operation, turbine output reduction is higher than the base load operation. Therefore, on partial load, heat pump should be operated in consideration of the heat output increase and electric power output reduction.

  • The major purpose of this study was to compare the state anxiety of surgical patients by sex (male/female), area of operation (sex-organ/non sex-organ), and family planning (having the plan of child-bearing/having no plan of child-bearing). One hundred sixty patients who were to get surgical operation were equally divided into eight groups resulted from combination of variables of sex, area of operation, and family planning, The state anxiety of surgical patients was measured in terms of the discrepancy score between the state anxiety score on the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) administered at a day before operation and the trait anxiety score on it which was administered at a day before discharge. In order to test statistically the differences among meant scores of the state anxiety obtained by eight groups, multiple comparisons were carried out by Scheffe method. The results of this study led to the conclusions that, (1) there was no significant sex difference in the state anxiety of surgical patients, when the area of operation and the family planning variables were disregarded, (2) the state anxiety of patients who were to get operation of their sex-organ was significantly higher than that of patients who were to get operation on the parts other than their sex-organ, when variables of the sex and the family planning were not taken into account, (3) there was no significant sex difference in the state anxiety of patients who were to Bet operation on the parts other than their sex-organ, when the family planning variable was disregarded, (4) the state anxiety of female patients who were to get operation on their sex-organ was significantly higher than the stale anxiety of male patients who were to get operation on their sex-organ, when the family planning variable was not taken into account.

  • Test vector reordering is a very effective way to reduce power consumption during test application. But, it is time-consuming and complicated processes, and it does not consider internal circuit structure, which may limit the effectiveness. In this paper, we order test vectors using fanout count of primary inputs that consider the internal circuit structure, which may reduce the switching activity. Then, we reorder test test vectors again by using Hamming distance between test vectors. We proposed FOVO algorithm to perform these two ideas. FOVO is an effective way to reduce power consumption during test application. The algorithm is applied to benchmark circuits and we get an average of 3.5% or more reduction of the power consumption.
