  • Internet communities are a typical space for knowledge creation and use on the Internet as people discuss their common interests within the internet communities. When we define 'Knowledge Communities' as internet communities that are related to knowledge creation and use, they are categorized into 4 different types such as 'Search Engine,' 'Open Communities,' 'Specialty Communities,' and 'Activity Communities.' Each type of knowledge community does not remain the same, for example. Rather, it changes with time and is also affected by the external business environment. Therefore, it is critical to develop processes for practical use of such changeable knowledge communities. Yet there is little research regarding a strategic framework for knowledge communities as a source of knowledge creation and use. The purposes of this study are (1) to find factors that can affect knowledge creation and use for each type of knowledge community and (2) to develop a strategic framework for practical use of the knowledge communities. Based on previous research, we found 7 factors that have considerable impacts on knowledge creation and use. They were 'Fitness,' 'Reliability,' 'Systemicity,' 'Richness,' 'Similarity,' 'Feedback,' and 'Understanding.' We created 30 different questions from each type of knowledge community. The questions included common sense, IT, business and hobbies, and were uniformly selected from various knowledge communities. Instead of using survey, we used these questions to ask users of the 4 representative web sites such as Google from Search Engine, NAVER Knowledge iN from Open Communities, SLRClub from Specialty Communities, and Wikipedia from Activity Communities. These 4 representative web sites were selected based on popularity (i.e., the 4 most popular sites in Korea). They were also among the 4 most frequently mentioned sitesin previous research. The answers of the 30 knowledge questions were collected and evaluated by the 11 IT experts who have been working for IT companies more than 3 years. When evaluating, the 11 experts used the above 7 knowledge factors as criteria. Using a stepwise linear regression for the evaluation of the 7 knowledge factors, we found that each factors affects differently knowledge creation and use for each type of knowledge community. The results of the stepwise linear regression analysis showed the relationship between 'Understanding' and other knowledge factors. The relationship was different regarding the type of knowledge community. The results indicated that 'Understanding' was significantly related to 'Reliability' at 'Search Engine type', to 'Fitness' at 'Open Community type', to 'Reliability' and 'Similarity' at 'Specialty Community type', and to 'Richness' and 'Similarity' at 'Activity Community type'. A strategic framework was created from the results of this study and such framework can be useful for knowledge communities that are not stable with time. For the success of knowledge community, the results of this study suggest that it is essential to ensure there are factors that can influence knowledge communities. It is also vital to reinforce each factor has its unique influence on related knowledge community. Thus, these changeable knowledge communities should be transformed into an adequate type with proper business strategies and objectives. They also should be progressed into a type that covers varioustypes of knowledge communities. For example, DCInside started from a small specialty community focusing on digital camera hardware and camerawork and then was transformed to an open community focusing on social issues through well-known photo galleries. NAVER started from a typical search engine and now covers an open community and a special community through additional web services such as NAVER knowledge iN, NAVER Cafe, and NAVER Blog. NAVER is currently competing withan activity community such as Wikipedia through the NAVER encyclopedia that provides similar services with NAVER encyclopedia's users as Wikipedia does. Finally, the results of this study provide meaningfully practical guidance for practitioners in that which type of knowledge community is most appropriate to the fluctuated business environment as knowledge community itself evolves with time.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the recognition of Korean image fashion design by U.K fashion specialists. U.K is one of the important countries in design field including fashion design since 1960. For this purpose, literature research and focus individual interview research were carried. First, through the researches precedent, it was found that a national image is related with it's design industry and what is Korean image fashion design, were studied. Second, for individual interviews to 13 U.K fashion specialists, who are teaching and researching in University that has postgraduate course over M.A and had industrial experiences from 7years to 22years, were progressed using open questions and visual image stimulus. The open questions were consisted with four parts : personal educational and industrial background, recognitions about oriental fashion, recognitions about Korean image and Korean fashion design before seeing the visual stimulus, recognition about Korean image fashion design and the characteristics of Korean after seeing the visual stimulus. The results are as follows; First, the 12 U.K specialists have recognized 'oriental fashion' is one of important fashion trends now a days. Japan and Japanese designers are recognized as a represented nation and designer in oriental fashion by them. Two of the specialists referred to need changing the term 'oriental' because the term has been used in the sights of western from colonial age and Japanese is not included the oriental any more. Secondly, 11 interviews have recognized nothing about the Korean national image some of them has negative image due to political situation in Korean Peninsula. However 2 interviews who had been Korea before has positive image. In the questions about Korean fashion and Korean fashion designers, 10 of 13 interviews have nothing and negative recognitions. So it was founded that Korean fashion design was recognized as a lower level by U. K. fashion specialists. Thirdly, in the questions about Korean fashion image and the design characteristics of Korean fashion after seeing the visual stimulus, the response was represented two directions. One is about over decorative image through ethnic design and the other is about simple image differ from Japanese. The 13 interviews felt the Korean Image fashion design such like traditional, decorative, opulent, flat cutting, fresh proportion, loose, layering, natural, simplicity, complicate, adventure, easy, stylish, soft, feminine, young image, adult sexy image. The images were analyzed five image groups : adult sexy image, adult ethnic image, natural image, young avant-garde image, young simple casual image. No one preferred the adult sexy image, adult ethnic image and natural image. However 10 interviews preferred young avant-garde group and 13 interviews preferred the young simple casual image. So this group can be understanded and useful informed as one of competitive power in global fashion industry.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a Korean version of the acceptance attitude scale and was to verify the reliability and validity of this scale. Study 1 was developed to acceptance attitude scale. First, we extracted the preliminary questions through literature research and previous studies. And the resulting data of to the open-ended questions and in-depth interviews with 324 college students were selected 24 preliminary questions using the content analysis method. Then through a survey of 355 college students conducted a reliability analysis and exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis of the preliminary questions. As a result, 12 item with two sub-factors(externally acceptance, interally acceptance) was extracted. Study 2 was for the validation of the new acceptance attitude scale was conducted online surveys of 328 adults. Conducted a correlation analysis between new acceptance attitude scale and self-esteem, psychological wellbeing, depression, anxiety, fear of negative evaluation were verified for convergent validity. Finally, importance and limitation of this scale development and suggestions for future research are discussed.

  • This study conducted a survey on sexuality for the purpose of substantial verification, focusing on literature reviews of premarital sexuality. The Literature reviews included relevant studies of our society and its cultures such as premarital sexuality and behaviors, expressions of love or intimacy, contraception, abortion, sex education and sexuality in family contexts. The survey was conducted to 355 university students and 200 working premarital adults in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Gangwon areas. It has 21 questions to measure sexuality by sexual altitude sentence completion Scale (composed of 4 categories and options of the other items)which has been widely used by professional counsel institutes. Male and female students complete the sentence of this scale, then similar contents were classified. Love type test was developed by Hendrick & Hendrick (1986) was used to measure love and intimacy. Results from the sentence completion for sexuality attitudes are generally as follows: First of all, there was clear difference in male md female responses about each categories. For example, With regard to the questions on premarital sex with opposite sex friends of long time relationship, more than half of male students said it is all right, whereas more than half of female students answered to the same questions that it can never be possible, with many answering 'I don't know', or leaving them unanswered. The survey result, masturbation answered that Female is needed however many Females actually don't it. But Male is almost necessary and conduct himself. On questions regarding, Homosexuality is both male and Female answered opposed. These results of the study show that premarital adults clearly open to issues on sexuality compared with the past, but they have not established their own sexual identity, which can be seen with big gap between male and female perspectives, due to experiencing confusion under the changing environment of the society.

  • In this essay, we problematize the problematics of the KMIS SOLOMO research agenda. We propose that the SOLOMO agenda is a conditioned product of the various assumptions, biases, premises, and presuppositions that the field of IS collectively succumbs to and shares, and thus needs to be problematized to arrive at a new set of research questions for the field. The problematization begins with the ontology that underlies the agenda. We argue that the agenda is largely drawn from a dichotomic, deep ontology of Human vs. Technology. While such ontology is neither right nor wrong in its own right, we suggest it is what underlies and influences the field's whole mode of inquiry including its research agenda. We propose an alternative ontology, the Actor-Network Theory (ANT), which as a flat ontology provides a radically different set of research questions for the field. Next we take issue with the teleology of the SOLOMO agenda, and suggest that the telos of the agenda, and of the field of IS and the whole of Management discipline together, are anchored upon the capitalist episteme so that it creates a significant hole in its teleological scape. While not in any sense calling for an ideological demagogue, we propose that the field of IS should open itself to an alternative teleology including a leftist perspective. We draw upon the Critical Management Studies (CMS) to explore how further problematization can be made on the SOLOMO agenda, generating questions about its performativity, denaturalization, and reflexivity. As a result of the discussions, a list of new problematized research questions for the SOLOMO agenda is generated. In the end we state the motivation of the essay and call for a critical refurbishing of the field of IS.

  • In this paper, some factors such as the perspective of children, instructional materials(especially activities in textbooks for elementary school mathematics), and teacher's questioning styles are discussed as ones influenced on students' immersion in leaner-centered instruction. This discussion is based on the author's two implementations of the kind of two instructions. About the first theme, constructivists assert that even children who are in elementary school can have reflective abstracting ability. Teachers' asking questions with the belief differ from ones with traditional perspective of children, which is relevant the third factor. They value and respect learners' thinking outcomes, even though they are not sometimes wrong and have errors. Also, they have them opportunities to think different from others and to ask how they get their answers. To do these, they frequently ask open-ended questions, not closed. All of them is possible through the activities provided in textbooks. Some characteristics which can prompt such teacher's questions using activities in elementary mathematics textbooks are discussed.

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the factors influencing on self-esteem, major satisfaction, and career identity. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 389 dental hygiene students in three colleges located in Metropolitan area. The questionnaire consisted of 5 questions of general characteristics, 10 questions of self-efficacy, 18 questions of major satisfaction, and 13 questions of career identity by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach's alpha was 0.92 in self-efficacy, 0.90 in major satisfaction, and 0.88 in career identity in the previous studies. Cronbach's alpha in this study was 0.911 in major satisfaction, 0.840 in self-efficacy, and 0.8090 in career identity. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regressions. Results: The score was 3.47 in self-esteem, 3.79 in major satisfaction, and 3.03 in career identity. There were significant differences in self-esteem and major satisfaction based on grade, motivation for entering college, and clinical practice satisfaction. In case of career identity, there were significant differences based on characteristics, motivation for college choice, and clinical practice satisfaction. There was a positive correlation between negative self-esteem, positive self-esteem, general satisfaction, awareness satisfaction, curricula satisfaction, interpersonal relation satisfaction, and career identity. The influencing factors on career identity were aptitude, interest, self-esteem, and major satisfaction in order(p<0.001). Conclusions: The career identity is closely related to self-esteem and major satisfaction. It is desirable to open a variety of education courses and to develop systematic and practical programs to the students in order to improve the career identity.

  • This is the article on the uses, methods of elaboration, qualitative, and quantitative evaluations, of organic and inorganic bismuth trivalent compounds. The obvious accent appears to be on the therapeutic uses. However, their interest will relate to all, for the reader looking beyond that first impression will be treated to an amazingly rich compendium of historical applications that can only prompt new questions and open up unsuspected horizons in seemingly unrelated area.

  • The properties of the nonabelian tensor products are interesting in different contexts of algebraic topology and group theory. We prove two theorems, dealing with the nonabelian tensor products of projective limits of finite groups. The first describes their topology. Then we show a result of embedding in the second homology group of a pro-p-group, via the notion of complete exterior centralizer. We end with some open questions, originating from these two results.
