This paper analyzes user preferences on the basic structure of digital textbook contents based on the PDF and HTML formats. This was conducted by analysing the data from an online survey on user preferences for the representative structures of the PDF- and HTML-based digital textbook contents that are currently used on the Web. Results show that in the PDF format, the structure with TOC(Table Of Contents) links on the left screen and the main content on the right was most preferred by 82% of the respondents. In terms of the viewing method, the one that presents one page of the textbook fitted to the width of the computer screen in a single-page view was regarded as the best. Similarly, in the HTML format, the structure with TOC links on the left frame and the main content on the right using 2-frames was revealed as the most preferred by 84% of the respondents. However, the structures of the PDF- and HTML-based digital textbook contents employed by most existing Web sites go against the users' preferences. Accordingly, for digital textbook development in the future, user preferences must be considered to allow students to read the contents more easily and conveniently.
This paper addresses questions on the marginalized position of youths of 'Gangbuk' and elucidates how they construct their own identities in the individual trajectories of everyday life. Three years of research, including participatory observation and in-depth interviews, was conducted on nine students from Northeastern district of Seoul. The research also adopted reflexive photography interview method in order to encourage the informants to actively participate in the research. The result illustrates the diversity of the everyday life experiences. More 'marginalized' youths from middle to lower class background had to endure the burdens of their daily lives without programs. Still, they were elaborating their own cultural taste and positive self-narratives at the periphery of the mainstream culture, by practicing music, online community activities and bodily performances. They had to negotiate the crucial turn of life after their graduation, when they entered into the harsh social competition with limited resources. We observed how they gradually assimilate the identity of the 'working youth', some of them developing a positive valorization of their experiences labor. Findings underline the active role of the cultural practices in the making of class identity of the youth and the necessity of researches situating the making of class identity and the reproduction of the class for the youth in the larger geography of class culture in the contemporary Korean society. Lastly, it is argued that these youths should not be considered as determined subjects, who reproduce already established class identities, but as active agents of their lives who deserve more respects and attentions from the society.

Opinions regarding interdisciplinary unification of medical laboratory science were analyzed by an online questionnaire distributed to 255 professors and 4,000 hospital practitioners in January of 2018. The recovery rate was 79 (30.9%) for professors and 1,368 (34.2%) for hospital practitioners. In the perception survey on the duality of interdisciplinary, both the professors and the hospital practitioners reported that they felt interdisciplinary integration is necessary. The prerequisite of four-year integration was the establishment of institute of accreditation and standardization of curriculum, and the requirements for the four-year integration were considered important for adjustment of student quota and standardization of curriculum. In the four-year integrated approach, the opinion that only universities that passed the accreditation evaluation should operate a four-year system was highest among professors and hospital practitioners. The optimum capacity of university students was less than 40 in cases of 4-year integration. In conclusion, the above results suggest that the professors and hospital practitioners realize 4-year interdisciplinary integration is necessary to produce a competent medical technologist, and the institute of accreditation, standardization of curriculum, and student quota adjustment should be presupposed for 4-year integration.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of unmarried women's self-efficacy and sex role stereotypes on sexual assertiveness. This study is a descriptive research study. The subjects of this study were unmarried women who had experience of dating. Data collection was conducted by online from July 17th to 19th, 2018. The final 190 subjects were the subject of the study and data analysis was performed using the SPSS 24.0 program. Pearson's correlation was used for correlations between variables, and multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the effect on sexual assertiveness. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the scores of the sexual assertiveness according to the age, having a boyfriend, number of intimate relationship, and sexual intercourse experience. There was a positive correlation between sexual assertiveness and self-efficacy, while there was a negative correlation between sexual assertiveness and sex role stereotypes. Factors influencing sexual assertiveness were sexual intercourse experience and sex role stereotypes, which accounted for 41.7%. This study was meaningful in that it analyzed the factors influencing sexual assertiveness among unmarried women who are not college students. In order to increase the sexual assertiveness of unmarried women, it is necessary to have a program that takes into account stereotypes of sex roles.

While depressives tend to be preoccupied with their own grief and the negative aspects, they might lack the capacity to interact with outside world. With the intention to determine whether depressives might have certain characteristics regarding empathic behavior, as behavior is highly based on responsiveness to others, we examined the relationship between emotional empathy and depression. In addition, we examined the mediating effect of self-criticism on the relationship between emotional empathy and depression. Data was collected from 146 online university students and analyzed using the correlation and multiple regression model. Results showed that perspective taking, which is the cognitive aspect of empathy, was negatively correlated with depression. Concerning the emotional aspects of empathy, both empathic responding and empathic concern were negatively correlated with depression, while personal distress was positively correlated with depression. Regression results, which set the empathy related variables as predicting variables, found perspective taking decreased depression, and personal distress enhanced depression. In addition, personal distress showed significant enhancing effect on depression and was completely mediated by self-criticism. With the result, implications and limitations of this study were discussed.
Amid the rapid growth in use of portal news, this study examined whether portal news would substitute traditional news media, in particular newspapers and television news. To answer the research question, this study attempted to investigate how the decrease in use of traditional news media was associated with online news use, reliance on, and motivations for portal news. First, this study found that there was a negative and significant relationship between the Internet use and television news viewing, suggesting that those who are more likely to use the Internet are less likely to watch television news programs. Also, portal news was negatively associated with time spent with newspaper reading, while it was not related to television news viewing. Second, this study found that convenience/information-seeking needs appeared as the major motivations for using portal news, which were negatively and significantly associated with the decreased time spent with watching television news programs. In other words, those who used portal news for convenience/information-seeking needs are less likely to watch television news programs, which may indicate that portal news could be a substitute for television news in terms of convenience/information-seeking motivations. In addition, the result of this study showed that there was a complementary relationship between portal news and newspapers in terms of surveillance needs. Those findings could be explained by the concept of "functional similarity" in the process of media substitution. Based on the findings, implications of this study were discussed.

This study aims at investigating the perceptions of science teachers about the role of visual representations in the teaching of electromagnetism, and finding out how science teachers use visual representations in their teaching of electromagnetism and the difficulties they experience in dealing with those representations. A total of 121 science teachers responded to the online survey. The results showed that most of the teachers agreed to the significance of using visual representations in the classroom but regarded their role as means of simply delivering science knowledge rather than constructing or generating knowledge. For the three visual representations widely used in teaching of electromagnetism in secondary schools (electrostatic induction on electroscope, magnetic field around current carrying wire, structure and principle of electric motor), the teachers preferred teacher-centered use of visual representations rather than student-centered and teacher's construction of representations were the most frequent among four types of use; interpretation, construction, application, and evaluation. The difficulties of teaching with these three visual representations were categorized into several factors; teachers, students, the characteristics of the representations, and lack of resources and classroom environment. Teachers' limited perceptions about the role of visual representations were associated with the ways of using visual representations in their teaching. Implications for the effective use of visual representations for science learning and teaching were discussed.
Recently, the widespread usage of 3D-Printing has grown rapidly in popularity and development of a high level technology for 3D-Printing has become more necessary. Given these circumstances, effectively using mathematical knowledge is required. So, we have developed free web tools for 3D-Printing with Sage, for mathematical 3D modeling and have utilized them in college education, and everybody may access and utilize online anywhere at any time. In this paper, we introduce the development of our innovative 3D-Printing environment based on Calculus, Linear Algebra, which form the basis for mathematical modeling, and various 3D objects representing mathematical concept. By this process, our tools show the potential of solving real world problems using what students learn in university mathematics courses.

Many universities are offering some of their offline courses for anyone to learn free online as an MOOC format. University libraries In response to changing university conditions, foreign university libraries are struggling to redefine their roles and provide new services. This study aimed to find the trends and models to support MOOCs in foreign libraries and Library and information science domain by conducting a systematic review of studies on foreign library and information journals which have been published from 2012 to 2015. A total of 34 out of 348 studies were included in the final analysis. This study also aimed to present the limits and the future models of MOOC support direction. The relevant articles could be identified, two criteria: 24 MOOCs studies relating to Libraries and 10 MOOCs studies related to LIS. The selected articles were summarized and analyzed yearly. The study identifies elements of library MOOC support models in 5 areas including MOOC design (copyright clearance and consulting, content licensing, open content), production support (course production, video editing, librarian MOOC production), management support (instructional design and content creation, students support), evaluation (MOOC data collection, analysis), reuse (MOOC metadata management, archive structure). Based on these findings, this study suggested the models of library MOOC support and set the theoretical fundamentals.
Consumers tend to perceive the shoes as just their footwear to protect and comfort foot and fashion products to decorate and express their self-images. Even though online market research analysis indicated shoes consumption is important in daily life of consumers, there is limited research that was conducted specifically on shoes e-market. The research investigates the process of shoes' e-impulse buying focusing on the effects of shopping orientation, marketing stimulus and consumers' perceived risk in shoes market at Internet. A total of 408 self-administered questionnaires were obtained from universities students, who had experienced the e-impulse buying of shoes at least once for the last six months. Results confirmed that consumers who had higher hedonic shopping orientation or brand shopping orientation were more likely to consider the marketing stimuli (e.g., promotion stimuli and product stimuli), whereas consumers who had higher economic shopping orientation were consider the lower marketing stimuli and the more perceived functional risk in the e-shopping context of shoes. For shoes, marketing stimulus had directly positive effects on e-impulse buying, while consumers' perceived risk had no significant effects on e-impulse buying. The findings suggest that the market stimulus, which is affected by consumers' shopping orientation, is an important factor in triggering e-impulse buying of shoes.
