  • We propose a cost-efficient hybrid algorithm for online location updates that efficiently combines feature point detection with the online trajectory-based sampling algorithm. Our algorithm is designed to minimize the average trajectory error with the minimal number of sample points. The algorithm is composed of 3 steps. First, we choose corner points from the map as sample points because they will most likely cause fewer trajectory errors. By employing the online trajectory sampling algorithm as the second step, our algorithm detects several missing and important sample points to prevent unwanted trajectory errors. The final step improves cost efficiency by eliminating redundant sample points on straight paths. We evaluate the proposed algorithm with real GPS trajectory data for various bus routes and compare our algorithm with the existing one. Simulation results show that our algorithm decreases the average trajectory error 28% compared to the existing one. In terms of cost efficiency, simulation results show that our algorithm is 29% more cost efficient than the existing one with real GPS trajectory data.

  • The authors map some of the current Business Models in the Massively Multiplayer Online Player scenario. These maps represent Value Creation Systems by resorting to Value Net constructs and notations, and are offered here as a proof of concept and utility. The authors claim that these mappings can enable readers, managers and IT experts, to build new insights onto such Business Models and develop requirements for Information System infrastructure. When approaching the Value Creation System as a Value Net the goal is to think outside the conceptual box of Value Chains and understand how the different activities interact, by exposing the multiplicity of value types and flows. In doing this study the authors are attempting to synthesize a new Business Model proposal that could underlie the development of an infrastructure for the collaborative creation, distribution and exploration of online massively multiplayer games, beyond the traditional producer-consumer roles.

  • This paper proposes a new method to generate inverse reachability maps that are more efficient for mobile manipulators than the previous algorithms. The base positioning is important to perform the given tasks. Using the inverse reachability method, we can know where to place the robot's base for given tasks. For example, the robot successfully performed the task with relocation, even when the target is initially in a low manipulability area or outside the workspace. However, there are some inefficiencies in the online process of the classical inverse reachability method. We describe what inefficiencies appear in the online phase and how to change the offline process to make the online efficient. Moreover, we demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves better performance than usual inverse reachability approaches for mobile manipulation. Finally, we discuss the limitations and advantages of the proposed method.

  • The dynamic nature of Online Social Networks (OSNs), especially on platforms like Twitter, presents challenges in identifying and responding to community attacks, particularly within Arabic content. The proposed integrated system addresses these challenges by achieving 91% accuracy in detecting real-time community event attacks while efficiently managing computational costs. This is accomplished through the use of specialized integrated approach clustering to detect both major and minor attacks. Additionally, the system leverages clustering algorithms, temporal modules, and social network graphs to identify events, map communities, and analyze online dynamics. An extensive parameter sensitivity analysis was conducted to fine-tune the algorithm, and the system's effectiveness was validated using a benchmark dataset, demonstrating substantial improvements in event detection.

  • Over recent decades, concept mapping has been used as a valuable Learning and Teaching tool. A number of studies have shown a positive impact on student learning. One of the disadvantages of this technique has been that assessing them or providing feedback to students is time consuming. We aim here to introduce ways of reducing the complexity of using concept map techniques in online activities. Several types of scoring methods for the concept map based assessment have been developed. In this paper, we describe the development of an automatic assessment system that implements those techniques. We contribute a design that uses semantic web technologies for both the management and the scoring of the concept maps.

  • Through text mining, sentiment analysis, and semiotics analysis, this study aims to reinterpret the meaning of user emotional words and related words to derive strategic elements of brand and design. After selecting a local car manufacturer whose user opinion on the brand is a clear topic, web-crawl the car comments of the manufacturer directly created by the users online. Then, analyze the extracted morphology and its associated words and convert them to fit the marketing mix theory. Through this process, propose a methodology that allows consumers to supplement and improve brand elements with negative sensibilities, and to inherit elements with positive sensibilities and manage brands reasonably. In particular, the Map presented in this study are considered to be fully utilized as information for overall brand management.

  • Recently, quantitative and repetitive inspections of the old urban area were conducted because many structures exceed their designed lifetime. The health of a building can be validated from the condition of the outer wall, while the slant angle of the wall widely serves as an indicator of urban regeneration projects. Mostly, the inspector directly measures the inclination of the wall or partially uses 3D point measurements using a static light detection and ranging (LiDAR). These approaches are costly, time-consuming, and only limited space can be measured. Therefore, we propose a mobile mapping system and automatic slant map generation algorithm, configured to capture urban environments online. Additionally, we use the LiDAR-inertial mapping algorithm to construct raw point clouds with gravity information. The proposed method extracts walls from raw point clouds and measures the slant angle of walls accurately. The generated slant angle map is evaluated in indoor and outdoor environments, and the accuracy is compared with real tiltmeter measurements.
