  • The current national pension system tends to be sexually discriminatory in that it excludes elderly women. It is because the system is based on family incomes usually earned by men. Considering structural changes in a family - for example, a growing divorce rate, an increasing number of unmarried couples living together, and broken families - and socio-economic changes - such as an improved level of women's education and more female participation in economic activities, this paper will make some suggestions as follows: 1) to introduce basic pension system which guarantees incomes for the elderly with "one pension per person" policy; 2) to enlarge voluntary enrollment; 3) to implement pension credit system which pays women allowances for childbirth and upbringing; 4) to improve ways of allotting retirement pension of a husband; also to provide for an elderly woman both divided pension that derives from her husband's pension and an old-age pension of her own.

  • This study was conducted to characterize the gait of a person climbing or descending the stairs. Using our motion analysis system (Vicon 370), gait patterns of ten healthy females (18.8 - 19.6 yrs. old) were measured 1) when a subject tip-toed the stairs, 2) when a subject climbs the stairs with the whole foot, and 3) when a subject went down the stair, respectively. The results of each cases were compared with the data for the level walking collected from 21 healthy females in the previous studies. The stairway gait data can be used as a useful reference in the design of artificial limbs for the lower-limb amputee.

So This research establishes sustainable strategies for Korean agricultural produce. This investigation used market-basket analysis techniques and panel data for its research. Market-basket analysis is a technique which attempts to find groups of items that are commonly found together. The results show that, for one year, processed food using wheat, processed marine products, and pork are commonly bought together and that yogurt and milk also are bought together. • This study explored the relationship of behavioral inhibition to narrative representations. Narratives of 96 four-year-old children were recorded and analyzed by the scoring system of Robinson, Holmberg and Klute(in press). Six clusters were found : Constrained(47.9%), Anxious/Restricted(23.9%), Emotional Integrated/Empathic(12.5%), Empathic/Avoidant(6.3%), Dysregulated(5.2%) and Anxious/Avoidant(4.2%) clusters. Behavioral inhibition was determined by observations using "Play with Unfamiliar Peers(Rubin et al., 2002)". Behavioral inhibition differences corresponded to the children's narrative representation clusters; The Anxious/Restricted Cluster was related to more and the Emotional Integrated/Empathic Cluster to less inhibited behavior. In context-specific differences, more inhibited behavior was related to Anxious/Avoidant Clusters during show-and-tess and to Empathic/Avoidant Clusters during card-sorting activities, respectively.

The prevalence of traumatized anterior teeth was $10.3{\pm}0.6%$. 2. The prevalence of traumatized anterior teeth of male was $12.2{\pm}0.9%$, and that of female was $8.4{\pm}0.8%$. The prevalence of male was higher than that of female. 3. The distribution of traumatized teeth by severity was as follows: Class I-65.3%, Class II-20.7%, Class III-8.2%, Missing teeth-5.4%, Others-0.4%. 4. Maxillary central incisors had the highest trauma frequence. 5. Single fractures were found to occur more commonly than multiple fractures. 6. The percentage of treated person was 5.1%. 7. 72.3% of the sample was not affected by the traumatized anterior teeth, and 27.7% of the sample thought the traumatized anterior teeth ugly.

  • In this paper, we present a wireless RFID glove in emotional learning method. The proposed wireless RFID glove consists of three parts: RF wireless module, RFID reader, and RFID tags. Objects tagged with a small passive RFID tag, can be sensed at short ranges by using wireless RFID glove. We describe the wireless RFID glove prototype, and present some interactive learning programs and games. The proposed system can be utilized to analyze user activities and train the brain of old person.

  • The zygomaticomaxillary complex (ZMC) functions as a buttress for the face and is the cornerstone to a person's aesthetic appearance, by both setting the midfacial width and providing prominence to the cheek. Malar deficiency is often acquired by blunt injury incurred in a traumatic accident, resulting in ZMC fracture. A 48-year-old male patient presented a right ZMC fracture after contusion injury by a baseball. He only received conservative management and later he suffered discomfort during mouth opening at the moment of mastication, due to trismus involving the temporomandibular joint. In the current case, we describe a surgical technique, by which the malar body is shifted anteriorly and laterally after combined oblique-vertical osteotomy. The technique presented, eventually restored the former aesthetic position of the malar complex and symmetry, and, moreover, improved mastication function.

  • During the 8 months from October 1985 to May 1986, the survey was performed on 211 leprosy patients over fifty years old, settled in the four villages of Iksan county, North of Chulla province. In that obserbation, we investigated the frequency and the degree of impairments according to sex, age, and anatomical location by the 'guides to the evaluation of permanent impairment'. The noticeable findings were made as follows: 1) Frequency of impairment by anatomical location was significantly higher in hand than eye and foot (p<0.01). 2) Frequency of impairment was significantly increased in eye according as age increase (p<0.01). 3) The degree of impairments of all patients was the highest in hand as 28.7%. 4) By the kinds of impairment, the flextion and the amputation were most common in hand and foot, and loss of central vision was common symptom in eye. 5) The degree of impairments of 211 leprosy patients was shown as 44.1% and increased according as age increase.

  • Changes in a person's health affect one's lifestyle and work activities. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), abnormal activity is growing faster in people aged 60 or more than any other age group in almost every country. This trend steadily continues and expected to increase further in the near future. Abnormal activity put these people at high risk of expected incidents since most of these people live alone. Human abnormal activity analysis is a challenging, useful and interesting problem among the researchers and its particularly crucial task in life and health care areas. In this paper, we discuss the problem of abnormal activities of old people lives alone at home. We propose Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based model to detect the abnormal behaviors of elderlies by utilizing six simulated action data from daily life actions.
