조선시대 유학자였던 여헌 장현광은 '노인' 혹은 '노년의 삶'을 학술적 영역으로 끌어들여 '주제화'화고, 그러한 노년시기에 노인은 자신이 수행해야 할 사업이 있다고 본다. 그것이 '노인사업'이다. 노인이 삶에 대한 주체적 자각을 통해 자신의 책무를 수행해 가는 과정은 '삶으로서 자기완성의 시간'이라고 할 수 있다. 그 시기가 바로 노년의 시기이다. 필자는 장현광이 제안하고 있는 것처럼 노인이 자신의 직분을 수행해 가는 노년을 '삶으로서의 자기완성의 시기'로 보며, 이 과정적 시간을 '웰에이징'으로 파악한다. '웰에이징'은 '자기완성을 위한 존엄한 노년'인 것이다. 웰에이징은 단순히 안티웨이징(anti-aging)과 같이 육체적 노화 혹은 늙어감에 대한 거부가 아니라 늙어가는 것 그 자체를 수용하면서 노년의 시기를 긍정적인 자기 변화의 시간으로 받아들이려는 삶의 양식과 태도이다. 장현광의 물음은 한 마디로 압축된다. 곧 "노년의 시기에 인간으로서의 '노인'은 무엇을 할 수 있을 것인가?"이다. 장현광은 노년기는 생물학적으로 '황혼기'에 들어섰지만, 그러나 '의지적인 존재로서 인간의 사명'이 아직은 남아 있다고 본다. 그것을 장현광은 노인사업이라 하고, 그 사업을 통해 '도를 보존할 것(存道)'을 제안한다. 장현광이 제기하는 것처럼 노년기는 담담히 자신을 완성해가는 과정이자, '노인으로서의 개인'이 '자기 존재감'을 유지해야 한다. '활동적인 노년'(active aging)을 통해 '누적된 경험적 지혜'를 활용함으로써 '노인에 의한 사회적 기여'도 가능하게 된다. 이러할 때, '노인'은 '고령화시대의 노년기'를 보내는 존재가 아니라 '인간으로서의 노년기'를 보낼 수 있게 된다. 자신을 완성해 나아가는 존엄한 인간으로서 노인의 시간을 맞이하게 된다. 장현광이 '노인사업'이라고 하는 철학적 성찰을 통해 우리에게 제시하고 있는 것은 바로 노년이란 '존엄한 존재'로서의 자신에 대한 재발견이자 자기 실현의 시기라는 점을 재확인해주고 있다는 점이다.

Objectives: The aim of the present investigation was to determine whether the finger photoplethysmographic waveform of a healthy young man will become analogous to those of healthy old men when the photoplethysmographic harmonic components in the young man decrease. Methods and Results: The finger photoplethysgmoraphy was measured in 21 old men over the age of 60 years and a young men. We acquired the representative pulse waveform of old man by averaging the finger photoplethysmographic waveforms measured in the old men. after the photoplethysmographic harmonic components in the young man were diminished with notch filtering, we compared the representative pulse waveform of old man and the pulse waveforms of which the harmonic components decreased in the young man. The finger photoplethysmographic waveform of the young man became analogous to those of the old men as the photoplethysmographic harmonic components in the young man were diminished with notch filtering. Conclusions: Decrease of the second harmonic component may be a precondition of typical age-related change of the pulse waveform.

Background : The purpose of this study was to investigate on the ankle pain, Range of Motion(ROM) and balance ability with old man have fall down experience used to ankle strengthening exercise for 6 weeks. We introduced ankle strengthening exercise in this study in order to recover the pain, ankle ROM and balance ability. Methods : Twenty-four old mans have fall down experience were included for the study. Among them, twelve old mans(experimental group) were ankle strengthening exercise and physical science methods(H/P, TENS, U/S), another twelve old mans(control group) were treated by physical science methods(H/P, TENS, U/S). Each group made use of Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) to pain and goniometer to ankle ROM and Berg Balance Test(BBS) to balance ability to compare the possible changes of pain, ROM and balance ability in two groups after treatment. Results : In experimental group, pain reduced, ankle ROM has increased in dorsi-flexion, plantar-flexion and balance ability has increased for 6 weeks. In control group, pain reduced, ankle ROM has not changed in dorsi-flextion, plantar-flextion and balance ability has not changed for 6 weeks. Conclusion : According to the results, we concluded that ankle strengthening exercise for 6 weeks is effective for reducing pain and increasing ankle ROM and balance ability. Therefore, we thought the old man have fall dawn experience need ankle strengthening exercise for prevention repeatedly fall down.

An Old document(Diploma) is a historical and unique record, so it must be collected, arranged, and preserved for research as soon as possible. Especially, for the effective use of the Old Document(Diploma), it is needed to arrange and describe the material systematically on the ground of modern archival theory. The Kyujanggak Archives in the Seoul National University has published 23 volumes of Old document(Diploma) material Old Document(Diploma). But they seem to cause the readers inconvenience, because the materials are classified and gathered only by genre, the titles or the orders of the materials are not standardized, and there is no description about the content of each Old document(Diploma). Jangseo-gak Library in The Academy of Korean Studies has also published the series of Old document(Diploma) material Old Document(Diploma) Collection. However the case is not different, since they are all mixed up with materials classified and gathered by genre, family, academy, or local school. And a great part of the materials have no titles and no description about the content of each Old document(Diploma), either. About the arrangement and description of the records, European and American archival science has established the theory of l)the principle of provenance, 2)the principle of original order, 3)levels of control, 4)collective description. These theories are valuable for the effective use of Old document(Diploma). On the viewpoint of the principle of provenance, Old document(Diploma) materials should not be classified by subject and genre, but by family and person. Then, the Old document(Diploma) materials, after collected by the unit of family or person on the viewpoint of the principle of provenance, should be arranged in their original order for more detailed arrangement and furthermore, for the work to find their relationship. This is so called the principle of original order. The hierarchical management of the Old document(Diploma) materials, for example, classifying by record group, sub-group, series, item and so on, is the concept of the levels of control, and comprehensive description of the each hierarchical structure is the concept of the collective description. Let's apply these archival theories to 34 pieces of the Chung, Man-Seok's material in the series of Old document(Diploma) material Old Document(Diploma). First, collect the Old document(Diploma) materials into Chung, Man-Seok's collection(the principle of provenance), which were scattered in the series classified by genre. Secondly, rearrange them chronologically(the principle of original order), and then we can find the comprehensive information about Chung, Man-Seok. For the hierarchical management of the Old document(Diploma) materials, we should establish a few concepts from the general, large group to specific, small item. The concepts can be organized as following; l)record group(Chung, Man-Seok record group) - 2)sub-group(personnel document, property document, family document, social activity document, political activity document, etc) - 3)series(gyoji-series, gyoseo-series, yuji-series etc. in the personnel document) - 4)folder(document with additions) - 5)item(one document). According to the the theory of the collective description, in the level of record group, there should be a collective description of Chung, Man-Seok's biography or a summary of record group. Similarly, there should be a collective description of a summary of sub-group in the level of sub-group and a summary of series in the level of series.

In this paper, we examine the roles, mutual relationships, and guidelines for a healthy life as exemplified by the characters Santiago and Manolin in Ernest Hemingway's novel "The Old Man and the Sea" and use this content to compare the happy home life of elderly couples in Korea. Through a metaphorical exploration of the lives of elderly husbands and wives in Korean society, the study examines their significance as the core of the family, particularly during their senior years. Ernest Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea" portrays Santiago as a unique embodiment of virtue and humanity. As an elderly male fisherman, he symbolizes a profound connection with the sea, as well as qualities such as courage, patience, and unwavering passion. His story underscores the importance of pursuing new goals and maintaining hope even in old age. The relationship between Santiago and Manolin provides insights into the dynamics of elderly husbands and wives in their domestic lives. Manolin's unwavering support for Santiago and his understanding of Santiago's dreams exemplify the significance of mutual support and the establishment of common goals for elderly couples. These characters serve as exemplary models for understanding and supporting one another within a family setting. Within the context of family life, applying these exemplary models and relationship dynamics fosters mutual respect, collaboration, emotional expression, and effective communication. Supporting each other and working towards common goals can enhance the family atmosphere, resolve conflicts, and enrich domestic life. Furthermore, when elderly couples share common goals and enjoy activities together, they strengthen their bond and create a more fulfilling family life. These shared activities deepen the affection between elderly husbands and wives and contribute to a thriving household. Through the characters of Santiago and Manolin in "The Old Man and the Sea," we present in this study a deeper understanding of the values and roles within the domestic lives and affection of elderly husbands and wives. Mutual respect, collaboration, emotional expression, communication, mutual support, common goals, hope, and shared domestic activities all play pivotal roles in maintaining a healthy family life and establishing happiness and well-being within the family. We expect this study to offer valuable insights into the fields of family studies, elderly welfare, and sociology.

Four patients with shoulder problems that were traumatic in etiology presented to us with delays in seeking care ranging from 6 to 12 weeks due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) lockdown. The care of three cases (a 3-month-old neglected anterior shoulder dislocation with a greater tuberosity fracture in a 30-year old man, a 3-month-old neglected anterior shoulder dislocation in a 17-year old boy, and a 2-month-old neglected greater tuberosity fracture in a 31-year old man) was delayed due to the lockdown and the ensuing travel restrictions, while that of one case (a 6-week-old fracture-dislocation of the proximal humerus in a 55-year-old woman) was delayed because the patient was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at the time of injury. This report intends to present the exceptional circumstances around these cases. The unique treatment challenges and their outcomes are also described to advise the surgeons of the nuances and difficulties in treating these injuries.

The ratio of the Korean old aged man increase $4\%$ in 2030. As the growth of the old man over sixty-five years old, there needs a care Health specialist, care worker who helps different people in daily life. The old man welfare facilities are a medical doctor, nurse, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutritionist, social worker, and care worker. They constitute teamwork and effort activities of daily living and rehabilitation. According to Japanese care worker low; a research worker makes the care welfare programs from Article 1 to 26 that agree with the real state of Korea.

울산 태화강변 십리대숲의 가운데에 위치하였던 '만회정'은 울산 출신의 무관인 박취문이 조성한 정자였다. 울산읍지와 고문헌 및 고지도를 참고해 보면, 조선후기 당시 만회정의 모습을 어느 정도 유추해 볼 수 있는데, 만회정의 규모는 정면 3~4칸, 측면 1.5칸 정도로 추정되며, 전면부에 누마루(테라스)를 둔 것을 알 수 있다.공간의 구성은 양쪽에 방 한 칸씩을 두고, 가운데에 마루 한 칸을 둔 중당협실형인데, 이와 같은 형식은 정자의 뒤에서 진입하게 하여 전면의 경관을 극적으로 보게 한 구성으로 이해된다. 따라서 만회정은 태화강과 십리대숲을 충분히 이해하여 구성된 정자라고 할 수 있으며, 문화콘텐츠 요소로 활용하기에 손색 없음을 알 수 있다.

Four patients with funnel chest deformity corrected in the Department of Thoracic Surgery, Seoul National University Hospital are presented. The first case was a 21-year old female with cyanosis, clubbed fingers and systolic murmur on the left infrascapular region on physical examination associated with agenesis of the right lung. The deformity was of asymmetrical funnel chest, in which the left hemithorax was more sunken. She was corrected by the method of Funnel Costoplasty of Wada. The second case was a three years old boy whose anterior chest wall was symmetrically deformed, and he was corrected by the method of Ravitch using Adkins strut under the sternum. The third was a 22-year old man with symmetrical deformity, and was corrected by the method described by Shannon in 1973. The last patient was a 22-year old man and he had dyspnea on exertion, palpitation and apical systolic murmur with symmetrical funnel chest deformity. He was also corrected by Ravitch operation, All of them has excellent result.

The increase of the aged according to the prolongation of the average life and the phenomenon of the nuclear familization according to civilization or industrialization is being problem for not Japan but also our nation. Nevertheless, the authorities were not interesting to an old impidement man. But nowdays, our goverement intends to deal with demertia patient or old man such a problem by the foundation of rementia center over the country. Even though having many problem to have to check the problems, the preparation of legal and systematic equipment etc., for our goverment will have to prepare all measures for unmovable man to live leisurly in their home by analysing the management of social welfare system of the advanced country or Japan.
