추파(chufa) 괴경 첨가 식이가 흰쥐의 성장 및 혈액학치의 변화에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Feeding of Tubers of Cyperus esculentus on Growth and Hematological Changes in Rats)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the growth rate and hematological changes of the rats when supplemented with the powdered tubers of chufa(Cyperus esculentus) for four weeks. Nutritional composition of the powdered tuber of chufa is crude lipid(22.3%), crude protein(7.0%), crude fiber(8.8%), ash(5.1%), nitrogen free extract(48.9%) and water(7.9%), respectively. Sixteen Sprague-Dawley male $rats(173.1\pm3.8$ g) were randomly divided into two groups, control group and chufa group. Rats in control group were fed with American Institute of Nutrition(AIN)-76 diet and rats in chufa group were fed with modified AIN-76 diet contained the powdered tubers of chufa at the proportion of 26% of total diet in order to substitute the oil content of AIN-76 diet. Final body weight, gain of body weight and feed intake of rats in chufa group were larger than those of rats in control group significantly. But feeding efficiency of rats in chufa group was less than that of rats in control group significantly. All hematological values such as hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit and serological values such as glucose, total protein, albumin, AST, ALT, cholesterol, high density lipoprotein-cholesterol and triglyceride were not significantly different between control and chufa group, respectively. Thus powdered tuber of chufa showed good tastefulness and did not provoke any adverse effect to the health indicators of rats. Therefore tuber of chufa would be used as new adequate feed resource for animals and possibly as suitable food resource for humans.

Thermal Properties of Poly(trimethylene terephthalate)/ Poly(ethylene terephthalate) Melt Blends

  • The thermal behavior, morphology, ester-interchange reaction of Poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT)/poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) melt blends were investigated over the whole composition range(xPTT/(1-x)PET) using a twinscrew Brabender. The melt blends were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy ($^{13}{C-NMR}$), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Single glass transition temperature ($T_g$) and cold crystallization temperature ($T_cc$) were observed in all melt blends. Melt blends were found to be due to the ester-interchange reaction in PTT/PET blend. Also the randomness of copolymer increases because transesterification between PT and PET increases with increasing blending time This reaction increases homogeneity of the blends and decreases the degree of crystallinity of the melt blends. In PTT-rich blends, mechanical properties decrease with increase of PET content compared with that of pure PTT. And, in PET-rich blends, tensile modulus decreases with increase of PTT content, but tensile strength and elongation is similar to that of pure PET.

Chlorella vulgaris May Excrete Dioxin-like PCB-138, -153 via Urine of Rats

  • The effect of Chlorella vulgaris (CV) on the urinary excretion of di-ortho PCB congeners (PCB-138, -153) was investigated. Sprague-Dawley rats (6-weeks-old, n=10 rats/group) were randomly divided into one control (0CV) or 2% CV (2CV) or 5% CV (5CV) or 10% CV (10CV) groups, respectively. Composition of normal and chlorella meal-based diet were made up of 30% casein, 15% cornstarch, 50% sucrose, 5% cellulose, 5% coconut oil, 3.5% mineral mixture, 1 % vitamin mixture. All rats had free access to water and diet for 4 weeks. A significant increase in both PCB 138 and 153 in urinary level was detected in CV fed groups, 540% and 167% for 2CV, 155% and 89% for 5CV, 114% and 144% for 10CV group, respectively, when compared with their controls. These findings suggest that CV may have potential to eliminate body burden levels of dioxin-like PCB compounds.

세척란의 저장성에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting Shelf-life of Washed Shell Eggs)

  • 세척란의 저장성에 영향을 주는 여러 가지 요인 중에서 저장중의 온도 및 습도는 계란의 품질에 가장 큰 영향을 주는 요소로서 낮은 온도와 높은 습도에서 저장하는 것이 품질의 변화를 최소화할 수 있겠다. 또한 계란의 세척 시 사용하는 세척수의 온도, 이물질의 혼합 정도 그리고 세척방법도 계란의 저장성에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 지적되었다. 세척 시 소독제를 처리한 시험구는 물만으로 세척한 처리구가 세척하지 않은 처리구에 비해 계란의 부패율을 떨어뜨리는 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며 난각의 표면에 도포제 처리를 한 경우에는 계란 내부의 수분증발을 억제하고 외부로부터 미생물의 침투 등을 방지하는 효과를 가져 와 세척란 또는 미세척란보다 저 장성이 연장되는 결과를 나타내었다. 따라서 세척란의 경우에도 난각의 미생물 오염도를 줄이고 적절한 처리를 할 경우 장기저 장이 가능한 것으로 사료된다.

Preparation of Buccal Patch Composed of Carbopol, Poloxamer and Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose

  • A polymeric film composed of Carbopol, Poloxamer and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose was prepared to develop a buccal patch and the effects of composition of the film on adhesion time, swelling ratio, and dissolution of the film were studied. The effects of plasticizers or penetration enhancers on the release of triamcinolone acetonide (TAA) were also studied. The hydrogen bonding between Carbopol and Poloxamer played important role in reducing swelling ratio and dissolution rate of polymer film and increasing adhesion time. The swelling ratio of the composite film was significantly reduced and the adhesion time was increased when compared with Carbopol film. As the ratio of Poloxamer to hydroxypropyl methylcellulose increased from 0/66 to 33/33, the release rate of TAA decreased. However, no further significant decrease of release rate was observed beyond the ratio of 33/33. The release rate of TAA in the polymeric film containing polyethylene glycol 400, a plasticizer, showed the highest release rate followed by triethyl citrate, and castor oil. The release rate of TAA from the polymeric film containing permeation enhancers was slower than that from the control without enhancers. Therefore, these observations indicated that a preparation of a buccal patch is feasible with the polymeric film composed of Cabopol, Poloxamer and hydropropyl methylcellulose.

  • The essential oils of stems, roots, fruits and leaves of Lindera obtusiloba BL. were collected in the winter and summer extracted by simultaneous distillation extraction (SDE) apparatus and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). In present study, 58 kinds of volatile components in the winter stems (WS), 70 in the winter roots (WR), 77 in the summer stems (SS), 78 in the summer roots (SR), 70 in the summer fruits (SF) and 76 in the summer leaves (SL) were identified. The results showed that, the major components were monoterpenes including ${\alpha}$-thujene (1.22~13.80%) camphene (1.56~18.40%), ${\beta}$-mycrene (1.75~9.27%), limonene (5.57~12.83%), ${\beta}$-phellandrene (3.03~7.72%), linalyl acetate (2.29~12.55%), dihydromycrene (0~11.15%), germacrene B (0~7.54%) of which the contents had major fluctuations in different seasons and parts. In general, monoterpenes were the major constituent of SF in L. obtusiloba BL. that have presented possibilities for industrial applications.

식물성 유지를 첨가한 가공치즈의 지방산 조성에 관한연구 (Studies on the Fatty Acid Composition of the Processed Chesse Substituted with Vegetable Oils)

  • 본 연구는 식물성 유지를 첨가하여 유지방이 함유된 가공치즈와 가장 유사한 기호도를 가지며 불포화지방산의 조성을 증가시켜 영양학적으로 우수한 가공치즈를 제조하기 위해 실시하였다. 제조된 시료의 단백질 함량, 지방함ㄹ야, T,S 함량, SNF함량, FDM함량, MaCl 함량은 각 시료간 차이가 나지 않았으며 pH는 버터를 첨가한 시료가 약간 높게 나타났다. 측정된 TBA가는모든 시료에서 제조 초기 제품의 품질에 영향을 주지 않은 범위에서 측정되었다. 시료의 지방산 조성은 버터를 첨가하여 제조한 시료가 C4:0부터 C16:0까지 포화지방산을 가장 많이 함유하였다. Oleic acid는 올리브류를 첨가하여 제조한 시료가 가장 많았으며 linolenic acid와 linoleic acid는 홍화유를 첨가한 시료가 가장 함량이 많았고 버터를 첨가한 시료가 가장 적은 함량을 나타냈다. Off- flavor 점수는 버터를 첨가하여 제조한 시료가 가장 높은 점수를 보였으며, 올리브류를 첨가한 시료가 가장 낮은점수를 나타냈다. UFA/SFA 비율과 linolenic acid와 linoleic acid 함량을 고려할 경우 홍화유를 첨가한 시료가 우수한 지방산 조성을 갖고 있는 것으로 생각되며, 선호도 검사결과를 토대로 판단할 때 옥수수 유를 첨가한 시료가 버터를 첨가한 시료와 유사한 풍미를 갖고 있는 것으로 생각되었다.

  • 화염분무열분해(FSP) 공정을 이용하여 결정질의 좁은 입도분포를 가지는 $\alpha$-알루미나 나노입자를 제조하였다. 초미분의 액적을 형성시키기 위해 전구체 용액으로서 연료인 등유를 연속상으로 하고 산화제인 알루미늄 질산염 수용액을 분산상으로 하는 유중수적(W/O)형의 마이크로에멀전을 제조하였다 0.5M 농도의 알루미늄 질산염 수용액을 10vol%, 등유 80vol%, 그리고 유용성 유화제 10vol%를 혼합하여 안정한 분산상태를 가지는 마이크로에멀전을 제조한 후, 이류체 노즐 분무기를 사용하여 0.03㎫의 공기 압력으로 분무하여 화염에 직접 노출시켰다. 제조된 생성물은 20에서 30 나노미터의 균일한 크기를 가지는 $\alpha$-알루미나 상으로 확인되었다.

CCSEM을 이용한 대기 중 개별분진의 분류에 관한 연구 (Classification of Individual Ambient Particles by CCSEM)

  • The purpose of the study was to stastically classify individual PM-10 measured by SEM/EDX (scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive x-ray analyzer). The SEM/EDX provided various physical parameters like optical diameter, as well as major 18 chemical information (Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Br, Pb) for a particle-by-particle basis. The total of 1,419 particles were analyzed for the study. Thus density and mass of each particle can be estimated based on its chemical composition. Further the study developed 4 semisource profiles including highway, oil boiler, incinerator, and soil emissions, where each sample was collected near the source in the ambient air The profiles developed were consisted of mass fractions and their uncertainties based on a particle class concept. To obtain mass fraction of each particle class, an agglomerative hierarchical cluster analysis was initially applied to create particle classes for each sample. Then uncertainties were calculated for each class based on the jacknife method. The 1,258 particles out of 1,419 (88.7%) were assorted in newly generated particle classes. The study provides opportunities to identify particle's source quantitatively and to develope various receptor models.

고추씨 함량이 고추장 성분에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Red Pepper Seed Contents on the Chemical Composition of Kochujang)

  • 고추씨와 고추피의 비율(A=0 : 10, B=1 : 9, C=2 : 8, D=4 : 6, E=5 : 5)을 달리하여 담금한 고추장의 성분과 품질은 다음과 같다. 1. 아미노질소, 환원당, ethyl alcohol함량은 B와 A고추장이 높았고 고추씨의 함량이 높은 C, D, E 고추장은 낮았다. 2. 수분. 조단백. 조섬유, 식염은 각 시험구 간에 큰 차이가 없었으나 pH와 조지방은 D와 E고추장이 높았다. 3. 산성 protease와 당화 amylase역가는 B와 A 고추장이 높았다. 4. 3개월 숙성 고추장의 맛, 향, 색은 전반적으로 A와 B의 고추장이 좋았고 D와 E고추장은 나빴다. 특히 D와 E고추장은 색이 불량하였다.
