  • Environmental conservation is becoming the major conversation topic in the 21st century, the era of environment. In the Law for the Preservation of Water Quality, article 53 states "A business unit which is doing business causing pollution caused by non-point pollutant or builds waste water discharge facilities, should report the installation of the non-point pollutant and install the required pollution control facilities". Environmental pollution caused by oil leaks during operation or maintenance has been found in the railway sector. Especially, rolling stock depot is most likely to be affected by environmental pollution. Therefore, in this paper We have investigated non-point pollutant in the rolling stock depot area and have studied adequate disposal method to minimize the effect of the non-point pollutant, hoping to supply the preliminary data for building an environment-friendly rolling stock depot.

  • As conservation of global environment has becoming a major outstanding issue of the world, the International Maritime Organization(IMO) has been legislation a convention for prevention of air pollution from ships. By the new convention, use of air pollutants such SOx, NOx, Freon and Halin Gas shall be restricted. In this regards, analysing these requirements of the convention is required as the cinvention will also be applied in restriction of descharging exhaust gases from ships by estsblishing a requirement of Sox and NOx discharged. The purpose of this study is as follows; 1) Introdcuing of the backgrounds of legislating the convention for prevention of air pollution from ships and major contents of the convention and a countermeasuures in the convention by Korea 2) Reviewing by analyzing the influence in domestic industries concernd by restriction of SOx, NOx in exhaust gases and sulpher content of fuel oil 3) Preparing a countermeasure in the convention properly.

  • The water pollution such as oil spill from stream and river because of car accidents have been frequent cases in the watershed of Dam. However we don't have any simulation methods about flow modeling on the watershed and stream tree. In this study aims to analyze water pollution accidents area on impact range for ANDONG-Dam. The focused watershed and the risk range of path analysis model was designed by GIS database. The frequency of transportation accidents which may occur from road accidents in the level of quantitative and qualitative analysis to map flow analysis using ArcHydro Model and Open Geospatial Consortium(OGC) API. and the path way from the accident point to the reservoir stayed on the path was simulated. The area of risk accessment index was displayed with cell and grid of dam area.

  • The economy of I.R.Iran is so related to oil that has had many environmental problems especially air pollution in urban areas in recent years. Statistics show that most of the time, the condition of air quality is in crisis level especially during fall and winter seasons. Rapid and high population growth has had large amount of fossil fuels consumption in all sectors including transportation, industry, agriculture, residential and commercial and public services and air pollution and healthy problems. Iran's abundance of fossil fuel resources has tended to discourage the country's incentive to shift to cleaner alternative energy sources for its energy needs that must be considered in future programming. These are discussed in this paper.

  • Commercially available fuel oil for power plant contains relatively much sulphur, which means accordingly high content sulphur deoxide in exhaust gas. Sulphur deoxide has been identified as the worst-pollutant caused by thermal power generation. This paper primarily deals with the stack gas diffusion effects of various parameters, namely vertical stability, wind velocity, exhaust gas velocity, stack height, etc., on the ground concentration. thereof the relation between stack height and maximum plant capacity is analyzed from the standpoint of air pollution prevention. The limit capacity is calculated by means of mean concentration introducing Mead and Lowry coefficient respectively.

  • In manufacturing operations, oil plays a crucial role in reducing friction and wear among interacting surfaces at varying velocities, loads, and temperature. Hydrocarbon oil is considered the origin of lubrication oils. However, this base oil has been limited in its use as it is a principal cause of pollution. This research focuses on identifying a biodegradable base oil lubricant that possesses a stable coefficient of friction and viscosity with temperature. Friction analysis is conducted by employing a pin on a disk tribotester with a fixed load of 10 N at varying sliding speeds ranging from 0.06 m/s to 0.34 m/s. Oil viscosity analysis is perfomed at room temperature by using a rotary viscometer. Tests are performed using canola oil and paraffin oil as lubricants. The results indicate that the viscosity of canola oil is more efficient than paraffin oil. The non-dimensional characteristic number according to the Stribeck curve reveals an elastohydrodynamic lubrication regime with canola oil lubrication. A comparison of both lubricants reveals that, the friction efficiency of canola oil and paraffin oil does not differ considerably. However, the friction in canola oil is observed to decrease more than that in paraffin oil at an elevated sliding speed. The tests confirm that canola oil is potent in minimizing the friction coefficient of SCM440 bodies interacting with one another as well as acted upon by load.

  • This study was initiated in order to find alternative fuel substituting for light oil the most common fuel for heating greenhouse. The tire oil used in this research was produced by pyrolysis process, one of the final products besides steel string and carbon black in which waste tires as a form of chopped pieces broken by shredding machine are heated up to 200~30$0^{\circ}C$ with maximum restraining of oxygen supply. In order to justify light oil equivalent qualities in tire oil combustion characteristics were defined in the way of comparing kinetic viscosities in the wide range of temperature flame sizes and exhaust gas components in the various combustion conditions. We found that kinetic viscosity of tire oil was lower than light oil by 1 to 2 cSt in the temperature range showing better flowing mobility in the fuel line of the burner and no significant difference in flame size between the two oils in the all combustion treatments. However much more NO and SO$_2$ were detected from the exhaust gases of tire oil than light oil combustions. In fact tire oil contains more nitrogen and total sulfur, by 25 times and 40 times respectively than light oil according to the composition analysis. Tolerable limit for SO$_2$discharge amount defined by the national air pollution standards is under 540ppm so tire oil combustion satisfies the requirement though. It is desirable if sulfur and nitrogen filtering process shall be added in the tire oil production line. Except the exhaust gas components all greenhouse heating qualities of tire oil including hot air temperature are very identical to those of light oil.

  • The latest date, No. 1 YouII was grounded and sunk into the sea at MAMHYUNGJEDO ( South brother Island) in Sep. 21. 1995, and M.V. Sea Prince of V.L.C.C also made a big oil poullution accident owing to Typhoon "Paei" at front sea of Yeu Choun on Jul. 25. 1995. The large or small scall scale of oil poullution accident frequently was occurred about 300-350 cases per ine(1) year. The countries advanced in marine relations like as, nited Kingdom and Japan, have perfect system The country of expert education, training and oil recovery equipments in oil poullution accidents. The large quantity oil skimming ship's basic condition need general skimming ship which was high speed and large quantity skimming ability , and hve to store the recovered oil into tanks This oil skimming shop are composit the skimmer whuch move up and down according to the wace movements, storage tank which storage the recovered oil in after side, transfer pump which transformed from flooding tank to separating tank and separating tank which separated the oil mixtures, Also there are cylindrical floated which keep the auto positing, gate which keep the auto positing, gate which protect and guide the recovering oil from sea and balance weight for skimmer balance. Also there are cylindrical floated which keep the auto positing, gate which protect and guide the recovering oil from sea and balance weight for skimmer balance. The important arrangement is twin arm which moved by two hinge and move te skimming unit by wave movement. In gate of inside, made long wear in the gate bellow position, there are also connected the flexible hose for oil mixtures drop. The separating tank composited with multi-divided bulkhead for ffective oil and sea water separating by settling and flotation principle. As use the above natural princile and equipment, we can remove the large quantity oil by developed oil skimming ship.ming ship.
