  • A metal diaphragm compressor has been widely used for supplying a high pressures gas. This compressor mainly consists of gas oil space and metal diaphragm. Gas sucked in the gas space is compressed by an oscillating metal diaphragm existed between the gas and oil space. A non-return discharge and suction check-valve are components of the compressor that draw off the compressed oil and gas. Those components are self-actuated by differential pressures. Therefore, the rapid response and stable operating conditions are required. In the present study, to find out the dynamic behavior of the suction, discharge valve and diaphragm compressor, the unsteady flow field has been investigated numerically by using the unsteady two-way FSI (Fluid Structure Interaction) simulation method, $k-{\omega}$ turbulent model and mesh deformation.

  • IGCC(Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) power plant are becoming more attractive because of fuel flexibility and low emission. In this study, performances are evaluated when the low caloric value syngas fuels producted in gasification process is used a gas turbine originally designed naturel gas fuel. Using GateCycle computational thermal analysis model, performances of GE 7FA gas turbine are predicted for using four types of syngas. Also, off design performance is presented for firing syngas fuel in the gas turbine.

  • The objective of this study is to find out the design data for gas burner with an axal and radial type nozzles. The design parameters are chosen as the stabilizer type, the jet hole size of gas nozzle, the distance between gas nozzle and stabilizer, the size of stabilizer and the hole size of stabilizer, the stabilizer type with or without air swirler, the angle of swirler. For the experimental test combustor sizing ${\phi}1.3m{\times}L4.5m$ is designed and manufactured, in which the set up of power diagram, the exhaust gas analysis, blow-off test, the flame temperature and the direct photography are performed.

  • Carboxy-guns are used for rapid and precise injection of $CO_2$ gas to the target skin area using external power source. In the design of carboxy-gun, the most important thing is how to precisely control injection volume of $CO_2$ gas. This paper deals with the control scheme of injection volume of carboxy-gun using solenoid valve. First the amount of volume that passes through the solenoid valve under on-off time ratio control is estimated based on the assumption of compressible gas flow. The flow rate of gas is experimentally measured under the varying pressure of the gas reservoir. Two results showed good correlation to each other, thus demonstrating the validity of the volume control strategy.

탄소 코일 생성에 대한 C2H2/SF6 기체유량의 싸이클릭 변조 효과 (Effect of Gas Phase Cycling Modulation of C2H2/SF6 Flows on the Formation of Carbon Coils)

  • 니켈촉매 막을 증착시킨 산화규산 기판 위에 아세틸렌기체와 수소기체를 원료기체로 육불화황기체를 첨가기체로 사용하여 열화학기상증착 방법으로 탄소코일을 합성하였다. 첨가기체의 유량과 아세틸렌/육불화황 기체들의 싸이클릭 on/off 유량 변조에 따라 성장된 탄소코일의 특성(형성 밀도, 형상)을 조사하였다. 육불화황의 기체 유량이 가장 낮은 경우(5 sccm)에서, 2분동안 육불화황을 주입하여 아세틸렌/육불화황 기체를 싸이클릭 on/off 유량 변조시킴에 따라 탄소코일을 형성시켰다. 반면 육불화황을 5분 동안 연속적으로 주입한 경우에서는 탄소나노필라멘트 형상이 나타나지 않았다. 육불화황의 유량이 5 sccm에서 30 sccm으로 증가함에 따라 아세틸렌/육불화황 기체들의 싸이클릭 on/off 유량 변조는 탄소코일의 형상을 나노크기의 형태로만 제한시켰다. 육불화황 기체의 플로린 종에 의한 에칭 특성이 이러한 효과를 주게 하는 것으로 이해되었다.

가스터빈 발전기 고정자 권선의 절연상태 평가 (Assessment of Insulation Condition in Gas Turbine Generator Stator Windings)

  • The results of off-line and on-line diagnostic tests performed on the stator winding of an air-cooled gas turbine(G/T) generator are reported in this paper. Off-line diagnostic tests included measurements of the ac current, dissipation factor(tan${\delta}$), and partial discharge(PD). Six epoxy-mica capacitors were installed in the three phases of G/T generator for performing on-line diagnostic testing with the turbine generator analyzer(TGA). The TGA showed that the normalized quantity number(NQN) and the PD magnitude($Q_m$) were high in phase A of the stator winding. Internal discharges were generated in phases B and C, and slot discharge occurred in phase A. According to the trend analyses of the NQN and $Q_m$ values available for insulation condition assessment for G/T generator stator windings, it was concluded that phases B and C were in good condition, whereas phase A has been significantly deteriorated.

  • This study was carried out to develop an engine for off-road vehicles especially for farm tractors using the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) which is known as a source of energy having good potential of substitute fuel for diesel engine because of its economical advantage and low pollutant materials after combustion. The study was focused on develop an engine of high in specific power output, low in specific fuel consumption and emission of pollutants. A series of teat was dope on the engine - various laboratory tests to analyze performance of the engine and actual field tests with the engine installed on a farm tractor as a power source.

  • The LNG carriers have been propelled by steam turbines and the LNG boil-off(BOG) has been used as fuel or vented. However, as the alternative propulsion systems such as diesel engines are being equipped on the LNG carriers for better fuel efficiency, a need for the LNG BOG re-liquefaction system that liquefies the BOG and sends the liquid BOG back to the LNG cargo has arisen in recent years. This study investigates the design of the BOG re-liquefaction system based on the reverse Brayton refrigeration cycle. The thermodynamic and heat exchanger analysis are carried out and the limitations to the system performance are discussed.

Cycle Analysis on LNG Boil-off Gas Re-Liquefaction Plant

  • Cycle analysis was performed in order to find the optimum design point of the LNG Boil-off gas re-liquefaction system. Thermodynamic analysis revealed the system could be defined by three state variables. Thus the system performance could be described by the three cold endpoint temperatures of the three-pass heat exchanger. This enabled us to investigate the cycle performance in terms of the heat exchanger parameters. To get access to the cycle states of higher system performances, larger heat exchangers were found necessary. Also the thermal pinch in cryogenic heat exchangers was found to act as a limiting factor to the system performance.
