기상 탑재체의 Star Sensing 기능을 이용한 정지궤도 위성의 궤도결정 기술 연구

  • 정지궤도 위성을 대상으로 각도 정보를 기반으로 하는 궤도결정 기술에 대한 개념 연구를 수행하였다. 정지궤도 위성의 관측 영역에 지구와 부근의 별이 동시에 촬영된다는 가정하에 지구와 별의 시야각 정보가 궤도결정의 입력으로 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 최소자승법 알고리즘과 MATLAB을 사용한 시뮬레이션에서 그 수렴성을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 개념 연구의 대상 위성으로 통신해양기상위성을 가정하였다. 이러한 기술은 지상국의 궤도 결정의 보조 방법 또는 위성운용 자동화의 일부분으로 응용될 수 있을 것이다.

  • In recent years, the switched reluctance motor have been used many industrial application because of its cost advantage. SRM drivers are accomplished by switching the phase currents on and off synchronously with the rotor position which is fed back to the controller by position may deteriorate in harsh environments and increase the size and cost of the SRM drive system. This paper proposes a position sensorless method that is based on impressed pulse voltage using impressed at unenergised phases to estimate the rotor position. The current value by impressed pulse voltage compare with the threshold value. The rotor position can be estimated by observing the current value. Finally, simulation results compare with the sensor type SRM and confirm the proposed method to be useful.

  • A conceptual study about the angle information based orbit determination technique for a geostationary satellite was performed. With an assumption that the simultaneous observing of the earth and nearby stars is possible, we confirmed that the view angles between the earth and stars can be use as inputs for orbit determination process. By the MA TLAB simulation with least square method, the convergence is confirmed. This conceptual study was performed with the COMS for instance. This technique will be able to use as a back-up of ground station's orbit determination or a part of autonomous satellite operation.

Secret Key Generation from Common Randomness over Ultra-wideband Wireless Channels

  • We develop a secret key generation scheme using phase estimation in ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless fading channels. Based on the reciprocity theorem, two terminals extract the phase of the channel as a common random source to generate secret bits. Moreover, we study the secret key rate by a pair of nodes observing correlated sources and communicating to achieve secret key agreement over public communication channels. As our main results, we establish a more practical upper bound from Cramer-Rao bound (CRB) and compare it with a universally theoretical upper bound on the shared maximum key rate from mutual information of correlated random sources. Derivation and numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the bound. Simulation studies are also provided to validate feasibility and efficiency of the proposed scheme.

A modified estimating equation for a binary time varying covariate with an interval censored changing time

  • Interval censored failure time data often occurs in an observational study where a subject is followed periodically. Instead of observing an exact failure time, two inspection times that include it are made available. Several methods have been suggested to analyze interval censored failure time data (Sun, 2006). In this article, we are concerned with a binary time-varying covariate whose changing time is interval censored. A modified estimating equation is proposed by extending the approach suggested in the presence of a missing covariate. Based on simulation results, the proposed method shows a better performance than other simple imputation methods. ACTG 181 dataset were analyzed as a real example.

  • In order to control the flow of traffics in ATM networks and optimize the usage of network resources, an efficient control mechanism is necessary to cope with congestion and prevent the degradation of network performance caused by congestion. This paper proposes a new UPC(Usage Parameter Control) mechanism that varies the token generation rate and the buffer threshold of leaky bucket by using a Neural Network controller observing input buffers and token pools, thus achieving the improvement of performance. Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive algorithm uses of network resources efficiently and satisfies QoS for the various kinds of traffics.

  • Using neural network approach, the diagnosis of faults in industrial process that requires observing multiple data simultaneously are studied in this paper. Two-stage diagnosis is proposed as the basic structure. The first stage detects the dynamic trend of each measurements and the second stage diagnosis the faults. This paper makes up for the disadvantage of neural about unknown faults. The potential of this approach is demonstrated in simulation using a model of tank reactor.

  • This paper proposes a new UPC(usage parameter control) mechanism that varies the token generation rate of leaky bucket by observing virtual buffer, thus achieving an improvement of performance. An acceptance of a call in B-ISDN is determined by call admission control. A UPC that polices the agreed traffic parameters of a call and takes appropriate actions to prevent congestion in networks. The cell loss probability of conventional UPC is far from that of ideal UPC. The proposed mechanism has a better policing ability and response time for nonconforming call. The proposed mechanism uses ON-OFF model as input traffic. The results of simulation show the efficiency of the proposed mechanism.

  • In This Paper, Linearization problem is discussed to reduce distortion of a nonlinear system based on Schetzen's pth-orfer inverse theorem. We propose a nonlinear adaptive prefiltering algorithm which can reduse nonlinear distortion up to pth order by tandemly connecting a pth-order Volterra filter before the nonlinear system under the consideration and by adjusting the filter coefficients adaptively. The feasibility of applying the proposed algorithm to a nonlinear system is conformed via computer simulation by observing significant reduction of total nonlinear distortion for the case of random input and sinusoidal input excitation.

  • This paper proposes the algorithm which estimates moment of the inertia and friction coefficient of friction for high performance speed control of electric motor. The proposed algorithm finds the moment of inertia and friction coefficient of friction by observing the speed error signal generated by the speed observer and using Recursive Least-Mean-Square method(RLS). By feedbacking the estimated inertia and estimated coefficient of friction to speed controller and full order speed observer, then the errors of the inertia and coefficient of friction and speed due to the inaccurate initial value are decreased. Inertia and coefficient of friction converge to the actual value within several times of speed changing. Simulation and actual experiment results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed parameter estimator.
