According to the recent demand for materials for use in various displays and solid state lightings, new phosphors with improved performance have been pursued consistently. Multi objective genetic algorithm assisted combinatorial material search (MOGACMS) strategies have been applied to various multi-compositional inorganic systems to search for new phosphors and to optimize the properties of phosphors.

This paper proposes a new quantitative and objective image quality metric which is essential to verify the performance of block-based DCT image coding. The proposed metric considers not only global distortion of coded image such as spatial frequency sensitivity and channel masking using HVS based multi-channel model, but also structural distortions caused block-based coding. The experimental results show a strong correlation between proposed metric and subjective metric.

In active control of structures the stroke of a Hybrid Mass Damper is the one of he main constraints of the system because there is limited installation space available in the structure. To design an optimal controller for a HMD system control objective are defined considering these constraints and effectiveness of H-infinity control method with bilinear transform that satisfies the defined objective is examined for the optimum efficiency. Numerical results show that the proposed H-infinity controller satisfies the constraints and provides optimal performance.

Corrosion of steam generator tubes is the major issue affecting selection of secondary water chemistry parameters. The objective of secondary side water chemistry control is to minimize corrosion damage and to thereby maximize the reliability and economic performance of the secondary system. To achieve this objective, the water chemistry has to be compatible with all parts of the system including steam generators.(Omitted)

The main objective of this study is to examine the mediating effect of 'international entrepreneurship' on the relationship between the determinants related to export and export performance. Data was collected from a survey of 200 exporting firms in Gwangju, Korea. The results of the study are as follows ; First, 'international entrepreneurship' are produced a mediating effect when the determinants affect export performance. Second, Resource-based factors and Industry organization factors have a positive impacts on export performance. However, relationship factor as a determinant does not have statistically significant correlation to export performance. Accordingly, in orer to enhance export performance, exporting firms in Korea should try more to prepare for resource-based factors and industry organization factors as determinants. In addition to these, if CEOs of exporting firms are equipped with international entrepreneurship spirits, they can increase the performance of their exporting firms. So they have to manage their exporting firms very strategically so that they can make their firms' export performance better and better.

When a manipulator makes contact with an object having position uncertainty, performance measures vary considerably with the control law. To achieve the optimal solution for this problem, an unique objective function that weights time and impact force is suggested and is solved with the help of variational calculus. The resulting optimal velocity profile is then modified to define a sliding mode for the impact and force control. The sliding mode control technique is used to achieve the desired performance. Sets of experiments are performed, which show superior performance compared to any existing controller.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of the repaired structural walls which were severly damaged. After damaging the wall specimens by experimental test, the walls were repaired and retested to destruction. For the repairing the severly damaged walls, new concrete and new reinforcing bar are replaced with cracked concrete and the buckled reinforcing bar, respectively. The performance of repaired wall specimens are compared with that of undamaged walls.

A Performance Based Design procedure for retrofitting the RC frame with friction dampers is described. The Capacity Diagram Method procedure is used to estimate the inelastic response of the example model. The example models were retrofitted using SBC dampers and the retrofitted example models were computation ally modeled. The results show that the performance of the retrofitted frame satisfies the target objective.

The overall objective of this paper is to suggest the research model for measuring the ERP performance in Korean manufacturing firms. To this end, the previous research papers on the ERP measurement were reviewed and the 356 questionnaires are collected. In particular, the effects of mediation variables including a firm size, user satisfaction, and usage will be tested.
