Micro-factory Evaluation through Digital Assembly Simulation (디지털 조립 시뮬레이션에 의한 초소형 공작기계 평가)

  • In this paper, the digital model of the micro-factory has been established, inspected and evaluated by progress of assembly, manipulation and examination. The new paradigm of the system analysis is realized by digital simulation of the factory. The digital manufacturing system of the micro-factory was simulated through UML(Unified Modeling Language) with the object-oriented logical model analysis method and then the micro lens module assembly system was simulated with MST(Micro System Technology) Application Module.

  • The paper introduces major technical specifications of the Line II railway simulators of Pusan City in Korea. Comparing design specifics of the railway simulators with of the light aircraft Flight Training Device(FTD, the paper reveals commonality of implementation technologies applied to both simulators: Overall configurations and design philosophies are basically the same. In both programs VMEbus computing systems with UNIX are adapted as backbones of the simulators. It is found that the railway simulators are less stringent in real-time requirements than the aircraft FTD, and the railway simulators are designed to be more event-driven and object-oriented. The experiences show that models may be diverse depending on the objects but implementation technologies are about the same. Maximizing portability of implementation technologies is a matter of an organizations strategy of adopting standardized processes and modular technologies available and most economic to them.

  • The widespread of IT technology caused a remarkable change in many industries and the construction industry is also one of them being influenced in the form of CIC(Computer Integrated Construction) and BIM(Building Information Modeling). Construction projects have many participants from various disciplines involved throughout the entire process. Therefore the success of the project greatly depend on the efficiency of decision-making using the information generated from each process stage. Looking from this aspect, the greatest potential value lies in the planning and pre-design stage when considering the construction life cycle. In this paper, we propose a project on developing a 3D object oriented simulation system for supporting the pre design phase. We define the needs for such system through previous case studies and suggest a to be process model. Finally we anticipate the effects that the project will eventually contribute to the construction industry.

  • 본 연구에서는 다 물류센터 문제를 해결하기 위한 통합 차량운송계획모델의 연구로서 다음과 같은 3단계모델을 개발하였다. 첫 번째 단계로서 다 물류센터의 문제를 단일 물류센터 문제로 변환하는 단계로서 물류센터별 공급 가능한 수요지를 선정하기 위한 방법인 구역할당모델(Sector-Clustering Model)을 개발하였으며, 두 번째 단계에서는 구역할당이 이루어진 단일 물류센터별로 차량경로 계획문제를 해결하기 위하여 개선된 Saving 알고리즘을 개발하여 차량종류 및 운송능력 등을 고려한 차량경로계획모델 (VRP)을 개발하였다. 세 번째 단계에서는 차량경로별 차량운송거리 및 시간을 최소화하는 최적차량운송순서계획 모델 GA-TSP을 개발하였다. 또한 객체지향 프로그래밍기법(Object Oriented Programming)을 기반으로 하여 사용자를 위한 GUI-Type 프로그램을 개발하고 다 물류센터의 통합차량운송계획을 위한 실 예를 들어 본 모델의 우수성을 보였다.

  • In order to reduce the cost of software maintenance including software modification, we suggest the object oriented program with checking the version of application program using the Java language and the technique of executing the downloaded application program via network using the application manager. In order to change the traditional scheduler to the application manager we have adopted the Xlet concept in the nuclear fields using the network. In usual Xlet means a Java application that runs on the digital television receiver. The Java TV Application Program Interface(API) defines an application model called the Xlet application lifecycle. Java applications that use this lifecycle model are called Xlets. The Xlet application lifecycle is compatible with the existing application environment and virtual machine technology. The Xlet application lifecycle model defines the dialog(protocol) between an Xlet and its environment

  • In this paper, a simulation system based on X-Plane and MATLAB/Simulink for multiple UAVs is presented. For the conceptual design of this proposed system, a hierarchical system architecture for multiple UAVs is presented. This architecture has object-oriented data structure which consists of three objects (UAV status, mission and task, and environment) and a hierarchy consisting of four layers (decision making layer, task assignment layer, path and motion planning layer, and collision avoidance layer) is also proposed. In addition, this paper shows a implementation of simulation system based on the proposed system architecture using X-Plane and MATLAB/Simulink. The result of simulation from the developed system in this paper validate capability of application for multiple UAVs in real environment.

  • A virtual engine test based on "Numerical test cell" can extremely reduce the time and cost for the development of a hardware by coupling multidisciplinary analysis. This paper introduces the development activities of full engine simulation programs in U.S.A. and Europe, with the their related techniques(the engineering models, the simulation environment and high performance computing) based on the NPSS(Numerical Propulsion System Simulation). NASA Glenn research conte. leads the development efforts of NPSS by assembling the current codes and improving their Auctions. VIVACE(Value Improvement through a Virtual Aeronautical Collaborative Enterprise), a consortium of universities, research centers and companies in Europe, is developing the PROOSIS(PRopulsion Object Oriented Simulation Software). The capability for the domestic development is also estimated by surveying the current status.

  • Object modeling has been cinsidered as an efficient technique for eleciting user requirements and communicat-ing between developers and customers. But model itself is not easy to understand what recult will be after coding and whether it will be meet with the requirements of customers. In this paper, we developed the envuroment for visualization of object model for validating with rewuirnent at the early stage. Therefore, we defined correct and complete rules which can transform the object model.the delierables of Shler/Mellor's method, into a for-mal specification language of VDM(Vienna Development Methods) with a mathematical basis. This basis provides the means of proving that a specification is realizable and proving properties of a system.Therefore.the completeness, preciceness of object model can be verified by proving the transformed VDM specification and prototyping by constructing a visualization supporting enviroment.

A framework for distributed analytical and hybrid simulations

  • A framework for multi-platform analytical and multi-component hybrid (testing-analysis) simulations is described in this paper and illustrated with several application examples. The framework allows the integration of various analytical platforms and geographically distributed experimental facilities into a comprehensive pseudo-dynamic hybrid simulation. The object-oriented architecture of the framework enables easy inclusion of new analysis platforms or experimental models, and the addition of a multitude of auxiliary components, such as data acquisition and camera control. Four application examples are given, namely; (i) multi-platform analysis of a bridge with soil and structural models, (ii) multiplatform, multi-resolution analysis of a high-rise building, (iii) three-site small scale frame hybrid simulation, and (iv) three-site large scale bridge hybrid simulation. These simulations serve as illustrative examples of collaborative research among geographically distributed researchers employing different analysis platforms and testing equipment. The versatility of the framework, ease of including additional modules and the wide application potential demonstrated in the paper provide a rich research environment for structural and geotechnical engineering.

Simulation of Prestressed Steel Fiber Concrete Beams Subjected to Shear

  • This paper developed an analytical software, called Simulation of Concrete Structures (SCS), which is used for numerical analysis of shear-critical prestressed steel fiber concrete structures. Based on the previous research at the University of Houston (UH), SCS has been derived from an object-oriented software framework called Open System for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (OpenSees). OpenSees was originally developed at the University of California, Berkeley. New module has been created for steel fiber concrete under prestress based on the constitutive relationships of this material developed at UH. This new material module has been integrated with the existing material modules in OpenSees. SCS thus developed has been used for predicting the behavior of the prestressed steel fiber concrete I-beams and Box-beams tested earlier in this research. The analysis could well predict the entire behavior of the beams including the elastic stiffness, yield point, post-yield stiffness, and maximum load for both web shear and flexure shear failure modes.
