Hysterectomy can lead to various symptoms threatening decent quality of life. As the frequency of hysterectomy increases, there are many patients who want to take oriental medicine treatments for complications. Several clinical studies have reported the effectiveness of oriental medicine treatment for post-hysterectomy complications. Out of these symptoms, postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV, hereafter) are indicated at about 20-40% of frequency within patients with general anesthesia, and they may occur not only during recovery from operation, but also after discharge. Although the incidence of PONV has decreased now thanks to the usage of antiemetics, PONV still causes some difficulties for patients returning to daily life. This study reports two cases of post-hysterectomy complications such as nausea, dizziness, vomiting, general weakness, and coldness of the limbs, which had good responses to herbal medication and acupuncture.

The biological effects of NADPH-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDPc) inhibitor, DA-11004, was investigated in obese diabetic (ob/ ob) mice. DA-11004, metformin, and oxalomalate were daily injected (ip) for 8 weeks and after completing an 8-week period of experiment, mice were sacrificed at 1 hr after the last drugs treatment to collect their blood, liver, and adipose tissues(epididymal and retroperitoneal fat). This study was designed to evaluate the effect of oriental medicine therapy on a adenomyosis. The patient was admitted to the OBGY department of Wonkwang university in Gwang-Ju, from 20th August 2004 to 7th September 2004, from 20th September 2004 to 1 st October 2004, from 20th October 2004 to 27th October 2004. She was treated with herbal medication, herbal acupunture etc. After this treatment, improvement was seen in dysmenorrhea (low abdomen pain, low back pain), profuse menstruation, the amount of black blood clots. The study suggests that oriental medicine therapy is significantly effective in the treatment of adenomyosis.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to identify the clinical effects of auricular acupuncture in the treatment of dysmenorrhea. Methods : Auricular acupuncture treatments were prescribed to 29 dysmenorrhea patients 1 time a week for 13 weeks. Results : After the treatment, numerical index for the pain was obviously reduced 'tot' point 2.61. It means that pain index as the patient has difficulty in daily life was reduced to 2 grades enough to do ordinary experience. Conclusions : This study shows that auricular acupuncture treatment has remarkable effects on dysmenorrhea.

As the demand for high frequency(bandwidth) optical module of reduced cost is increased, there are considerable needs for low cost／ high reliable optical packaging method. In order to meet these requirements, the researches using silicon optical bench(SiOB) technology have been developed as one of the leading technology. In this paper, we discuss optical package using one aspherical lens mounted on SiOB by passive alignment, and present the reliability data for the optical module, which are temperature cycling between 40C and +85C, and high temperature storage 85C(unbiased), 2000hour.

With the radical change of business environment, all service companies' employees are forced to provide many customers with high service quality every day, and the extra role(or organizational citizenship behavior) is more imperative than other industry. The purpose of this paper is to introduce Luthans & Kreitner's Organizational Behavior Modification(OB Mod) model to improve organizational citizenship behavior and service quality. With analyzing the relationships among target behavior(service quality), antecedents(OCB), and consequences(customer satisfaction), this paper reviewed OB Mod's 5 stages; identifying, measuring, functional analysis of the behavior, development of an intervention strategy, evaluation. This model has found to be useful in finding and improving troublesome employee behaviors in USA, but not been verified in Korea. Thus it is recommended to review the difference of organizational culture and practices before introducing the model.
