경기 시흥안산지역 초등학교 고학년의 스마트폰 과의존 위험 수준에 따른 식태도, 식행동 및 스마트폰 사용관련 식습관 (Dietary Attitudes, Dietary Behaviors, and Smartphone Usage-related Dietary Habits According to Risk Level of Smartphone Overdependence of Elementary School Students in the Siheung and Ansan Areas)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the nutrition knowledge, dietary attitudes, dietary behaviors, smartphone usage-related dietary habits, and health-related lifestyles of higher grade students in elementary school according to risk level of smartphone overdependence. Subjects were 286 fifth and sixth grade students of elementary school in the Siheung and Ansan areas. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS v. 20.0. Based on scores of S-scale (smartphone overdependence scale for adolescents), subjects who used smartphone were classified into an overdependence group (ODG, n=52) and a normal group (NG, n=234). The ODG showed a significantly longer usage time than NG on both weekdays and weekends (p<0.001). There were no significant differences in total scores of nutrition knowledge between the ODG and NG. Average total scores of dietary attitude and dietary behavior in the ODG were significantly lower than in the NG (p<0.001). There were higher risks of ODG for skipping meals (OR=8.3, 95% CI=4.027-17.099), changing eating speed (OR=4.4, 95% CI=2.209-8.822), and changing meal amount due to smartphone usage (OR=2.9 95% CI=1.233-6.623). Therefore, education programs are needed to ensure proper dietary behaviors and habits among smartphone overdependent elementary school students.

중년여성의 갱년기 증상과 식생활 양상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Climacteric Symptoms and Dietary Patterns in Middle-Aged Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate relationship between the climacteric symptoms and the dietary patterns. The study was conducted with 285 middle-aged women(150 premenopause and 135 postmenopause) and the informations were obtained by questionnaires. The menophania of the premenopause and of the postmenopause women began to 15.6 and 16.6 years old, respectively. And it seemed that the middle-aged women had neutral attitude about menopause-related altitude. There was a positive correlation between the nutrition knowledge and the food habit, but these knowledge and habits had a little correlation with the climacteric symptoms.

경기 일부지역 알코올사용장애자와 폭음자의 식습관 (Dietary Habits of Hazardous Drinkers and Heavy Episodic Drinkers in Partial Area of Gyeonggi)

  • The purpose of this study is to assess dietary habits of the hazardous drinkers and the heavy episodic drinkers in Korean adults. The respondents consisted of 814 adults (415 male and 399 female) who are 20~69 years of age by random selection in partial area of Gyeonggi. A self-report questionnaire was used to cover questions regarding dietary habits, drinking behavior and physical activity. Total dietary habit scores in hazardous drinker group (63.25) was significantly lower than normal drinker group (68.61) in male respondents (P<0.001). Male hazardous drinker group less eat fruit (P<0.01), eat more processed food (P<0.01) than male normal drinker group. Female hazardous drinker group doesn't eat 3 meals a day than female normal drinker group. Total dietary habit scores in heavy episodic drinker group [occasional heavy episodic drinker (62.76), frequent heavy episodic drinker (63.77)] were significantly lower than abstainer group (69.16) in male respondents (P<0.001). Male heavy episodic drinker group less eat fruit (P<0.01), eats more processed food (P<0.01), salty food (P<0.001), sugary food (P<0.05), animal fat (P<0.01) and eats out often (P<0.01) than male abstainer group. Male heavy episodic drinker group significantly less apply nutrition knowledge to their life (P<0.05) and less exercise everyday-more than 1 hour (P<0.01) than male abstainer group. In drinking behavior index, AUDIT (alcohol use disorder identification test) score was negatively correlated with age (P<0.01). There was a positive correlation between dietary habits and physical activity (P<0.01) but there was negative correlation between dietary habits and AUDIT score (P<0.01). This study highlights that AUDIT score was negatively influenced dietary habits.

채소기피 아동에 대한 영양교육 효과 (The Effects of Nutrition Education on Children Who Avoid to eat Vegetables)

  • The present study was designed to observe whether nutritional education on children or mothers of the children who avoid to eat vegetables can improve the preferences for the vegetables of the subjects. The subjects were 45 children who are fourth to sixth grade of primary school in Bibong. They were assigned to one of three groups which are Control, Children Education and Mothers Education groups. Control group was not given any special education, while experimental groups were given nutritional education for 4 weeks. The effects of education was evaluated in the aspects of preference changes for vegetables, nutritional knowledge, attitude and food behavior of the subjects The results are summarized as follows. 1. Preferences to cucumber, lettuce, chinese cabbage and raddish were high in three groups while greenonion, onion, lotus roots and red pepper didn't suit for their taste. 2. Significantly increased scores for the preference to red pepper, pumpkin, Dorajee(root of chinese bell-flower), braken, mushroom was shown only in the children who had nutritional education while the children in the group of Mothers Education improved their preference only cabbage and lotus roots. 3. Nutritional knowledge of the children in Children Education group has improved significantly(p<0.05). While there was no significant difference between control and Mothers Education group. 4. When scores for food habit of mother and children were estimated, there was no significant difference among three groups. However, score of food habit in children was higher than that of mothers. 5. Food habit and nutrition knowledge of mother were not well corelated with dietary attitude and behavior of their children. These results indicate that the program of nutrition education in the present study can improve the food choice of children for vegetable and correct one-sided food habit. The program applied in this study would serve a kind of model for the dietetic teachers to guide the children who mainly dislikes vegetables.

여대생과 그들 어머니의 영양지식 및 식습관이 영양 섭취상태에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Nutrition Knowledge and Food Habits on the Nutrient Intakes in College Women and Their Mothers)

  • This survey was carried out to Investigate the effect of the daily average nutrient intakes, self-consciousness of nutrition knowledge and health on the nutrition knowledge and food habits between college women and their own mothers, Questionnaires were completed by 214 college women who do major in nutrition and by 173 their mothers. The college women scored significantly higher than that of their mothers In the nutrition knowledge. And their mothers scored significantly higher than that of college women in the food habits. Most of the subjects belonged to 'Fair' food habit group, which was considered to be relatively good. The correlation of the scores between nutrition knowledge and food habits of the college women and their mothers was low. The daily average nutrient Intakes of all women were higher than the recommended dietary allowance except for that of Iron. There was a significant and negative correlation between the nutrition knowledge score and daily average nutrient intakes in college women. But there was not a significant correlation in the nutrient intakes in their mothers. And also there was a significant and positive correlation between food habits score in their mothers but there was not a significant correlation score in college women. The higher the women had a self-consciousness of health, the higher their mothers had a food habit score, but they had daily average nutrient intakes were lower than their daughter's(college women), And the women that had a self-consciousness of health were healthier, daily nutrient intakes in their own mothers were higher in the food habits scores than that of the college women. The main curriculum for a good food habits is that it is important that one has a responsible nutrition education. For the improvement of nutrition education program we should transmit the nutritional information through an effective mass media(i. e. Radio, TV, Newspaper).

식품교환법을 활용한 영양교육의 효과: 초등학생의 영양지식, 식생활 태도, 식이섭취 변화 (Effects of Nutrition Education Using Food Exchange System: Changes in Elementary Students' Nutrition Knowledge, Dietary Attitude and Nutrients Intake)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of nutrition education using Food Exchange System on elementary students' nutrition knowledge, dietary attitude and nutrients intake. Nutrition education lessons (40 min /lesson, 4 times), '5 major nutrients and functions', '6 food groups and sources of 6 food groups', 'good choice of snacks and eating out' as class lesson, 'daily needed energy and food exchange units' as individual lesson, were provided to 70 elementary students (4th grade 33 students, 5th grade 37 students) in Jeonbuk Province. We assessed the changes in nutrition knowledge, dietary attitude, food habit using a questionnaire and nutrient intake using 24 hr recall method by nutrition education. In nutrition knowledge, there were significant increases in scores of 'functions of carbohydrate', 'functions of protein', 'functions of lipid', 'foods of carbohydrate', and 'foods of lipid'. In dietary attitude, there were significant increases in scores of 'taking a meal with joy', 'taking a meal at ease', 'taking a meal with sufficient protein intake' and 'taking a meal without spicy foods' by nutrition education. There were significant changes in the type of breakfast and in the frequency of snacks. After education, in type of breakfast, it showed higher number of students ate rice oriented meal than they did before education. and in frequency of snacks, it showed lower number of students ate snacks 'over 3 times' than they did before education. In Carbohydrate : Protein : Fat (CPF) ratio (%), it was significantly changed from 55.8 : 17.7 : 26.6 to 63.6 : 15.3 : 21.1. In evaluation of nutrient intake by Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans (KDRIs), vitamin A, thiamin, niacin, vitamin $B_6$, calcium, phosphate, iron and zinc showed positive changes in distribution of number of children by intake level. That is, there were significant improvements in intakes of vitamin A, thiamin, niacin, vitamin $B_6$, calcium, phosphate, iron and zinc. These results showed that nutrition education using Food Exchange System for elementary students improved nutrition knowledge, dietary attitude and nutrients intake. It suggest that nutrition education using Food Exchange System may improve dietary behaviors and reduce an incidence of obesity in elementary students.

서울 지역 초등학교 학생들의 성별에 따른 식행동 양상 연구 (A Study for Dietary Behaviors of Elementary School Students in Seoul by Gender)

  • 본 연구는 서울 동대문구에 소재한 답십리 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 학생을 표본으로 선정하여 성별에 따른 식생활 양상을 전반적으로 비교하였다. 조사내용은 영양 지식, 식습관, 식생활 양상으로 분류하여 2004년 4월 10일부터 4월 30까지 조사하였다. 첫째, 조사 대상자가 영양 지식을 얻는 곳은 TV/라디오(56.6%)가 가장 많았고, 학교(25.4%), 가정(17.8%)의 순이었으며, 영양 지식 평균 점수는 여학생(7.03점/10점 만점)이 남학생(6.90점/10점 만점)보다 높게 나타나서, 여학생은 아주 좋음군(7.4이상$\sim$10점/10점 만점), 남학생은 좋음군(5.5 이상${\sim}$7.4이하/10점 만점)에 가장 많음으로써 성별에 따른 차이를 보였으나, 통계적 유의성은 없었다. 둘째, 조사 대상자의 식습관 평균 점수는 여학생(4.79점/10점 만점)이 남학생(4.77점/10점 만점)보다 높게 나타났고, 대부분은 보통군(3.5 이상${\sim}$5.4이하/10점 만점)에 속했으며, 아주 좋음군(7.4 이상${\sim}$10점/10점 만점)은 여학생(15.9%)이 남학생(34.2%)보다 많았다. 셋째, 조사 대상자의 식생활 양상을 비교한 결과를 살펴보면, 여학생(68.3%)과 남학생(61.4%) 모두 아침 식사를 가장 규칙적으로 섭취하고 있었지만, 저녁 식사는 여학생(21.7%)이 남학생(15.5%)보다 덜 섭취하는 것으로 조사되어, 성별에 따른 유의성(p<.001)을 보였다. 또한 남학생(40.6%)이 여학생(27.5%)보다 육식을 좋아하는 것으로 나타나 성별에 따른 유의적 상관 관계(p<.01)를 나타내었다. 식사 속도는 15${\sim}$20분이 42.0%로 가장 많았으며, 성별에 따라서는 10${\sim}$15분 동안에 남학생(29.4%)이 여학생(18.7%)보다 빨리 먹어 통계적 차이(p<.05*)를 나타냈고, 대부분이 편식을 하는 것으로 조사되었다. 체중 조절 경험 여부의 결과는 여학생이 체중 조절을 전혀 안하는 경우(35.7%)가 남학생(60.4%)보다 적게 나타남에 따라 성별에 따른 많은 통계적 차이(p<.001***)를 보였다. 이상의 결과를 종합하면, 초등학교 학생들의 식생활 양상은 성별에 따라 많은 차이를 드러내었다. 즉 여학생이 남학생보다 영양 지식도 높구 식습관도 좋고 식생활 전반에 걸친 행동도 보다 좋게 평가됨으로써 초등학교에서는 성별에 따른 차별화된 영양 교육과 식생활에 관한 기초 지식을 강화해야 함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 초등학교 학생들의 올바른 식습관 형성을 위해 보다 효과적인 방법으로는 학교 급식의 질적인 발전이다. 학교 급식의 질적 향상을 위해, 성별에 따른 기호도 조사와 이를 바탕으로한 복수 식단 제공과 함께, 연령에 맞는 기준량과 섭취하는 양을 제시함으로써 바람직한 방향으로 식품을 섭취할 수 있게 지도해야 하며, 자율배식을 도입하여 편식예방과 급식에 대한 만족도를 높여야 할 것이다.

미취학아동 대상 영양·식생활교육의 효과 메타분석 (Meta-Analysis of the Effects of Nutrition & Dietary Life Education for Preschoolers)

  • The purpose of this study was to objectively quantify the effects of nutrition and dietary life education on preschoolers through meta-analysis. In addition, it provides basic data for the implementation of nutrition education and development of systematic nutrition and dietary life education programs. In this study, a meta-analysis of 27 papers was conducted that conformed to the selection criteria in the study conducted from January 2012 to August 2019 to derive objective data on the effects of education. As a result of the analysis, the overall effective size of nutrition and dietary life education for preschoolers was 0.829, which indicates a strong effect. According to the education method, the effect size of general education was 0.562, which indicates a medium effect size, the vegetable playing-based experience education was 0.685, which indicates a medium effect size, and cooking activity-based experience education was 1.101, which indicates a large effect size. Judging from this result, experience activity education was more effective than general nutrition education. In addition, the combined size of convergence education conducted through a combination of general and experience education was found to be the most effective at 1.301. In terms of educational effect, it was confirmed that the effect size was 0.898 for improving nutrition knowledge, 0.858 for improving dietary habits, 0.836 for improving unbalanced diet, and 0.756 for improving food preference and intake, and the sizes of effects were all found to be large. As frequency of education increased, the number of education participants decreased and the effect of education increased.

저체중 또는 과체중 청소년에서 캠프 프로그램을 이용한 영양 교육효과에 관한 연구 (The Evaluation of a Nutrition Education Camp Program for Overweight and Underweight Adolescents)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of a nutrition education program developed for nutritionally imbalanced adolescents. A summer nutrition camp was held for 23 overweight and 16 underweight subjects. Its effectiveness with regard to was evaluated at the end of the camp and 6 months later. Nutrition knowledge, nutritional attitude, food behavior, nutrient intake, exercise habit and ideal body figures desired by the subjects. The results showed significantly higher nutrition knowledge scores at the end of the camp as compared to those obtained prior to the camp program, and these scores were maintained for at least six months. Nutrition attitude scores also improved after the education program, and these improved scores also lasted for 6 months. However, the food behavior scores measured 6 months after the education program were not significantly different from those obtained prior to the camp. Also, the exorcist habit, the ideal body figures and the body figures desired by the subjects remained unchanged. When nutrient intakes of subjects were assessed before the program and 6 months later, the mean daily vitamin C intake was significantly increased after the education program. Also, the intake of iron from plant food sources increased in the overweight subjects, while less iron from animal source were consumed by the underweight subjects. Both groups tended to consume more vegetables and fruits 6 months after the education program which may have contribute to the higher vitamin C and plant-based iron intakes. These results indicate that a 4-day nutrition education camp program sustained changes in nutrition knowledge and nutrition attitude for 6 months. The increased intake of vegetables and fruits was also achieved through this education program. However, changes in dietary behavior in adolescents may require repeated education. 영유아의 식행동, 발달 수준 그리고 어머니의 영양 태도 및 영양 지식에 관한 연구 (A Study on Eating Behavior, Developmental Outcomes of Young Children, and Nutritional Attitude and Knowledge Levels of Mothers)

  • The objective of this study was to examine the eating habit characteristic and developmental outcomes of young children (ages 24 months through 42 months) as well as their mothers' nutritional attitudes and maternal levels of nutrition knowledge. The study also analyzed relationships among the children's eating habits and developmental outcomes and the mothers' nutritional attitudes and nutrition knowledge levels. The subjects included 164 young children who were enrolled in early childhood education and care settings in Seoul and Gyunggi province. The main results were as follows. There were significant correlations among the young children's eating habits and developmental outcomes, specifically between their attitudes towards meals and fine motor skills, communication, social-emotional aspects, and cognitive areas (p<0.01). In addition, there were significant correlations among the young children's eating habits, the mothers' nutritional attitudes and their nutrition knowledge levels (p<0.01).
