수간호사의 리더쉽에 대한 수간호사와 일반간호사의 지각정도와 간호업무성과간의 관계 연구 (A Correlation Study on the Relationship between Nursing Performance and Leadership Style as perceived by Head Nurses and Staff Nurses)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify relationships between the nursing performance of staff nurses and the leadership styles of head as perceived by the head nurses and the staff nurses. The subject consisted of 33 head nurses and 200 staff nurses who were working at SNUH between July 1, and July 31, 1991. Leadership styles as perceived by head nurses and staff nurses were measured using an instrument adapted by Park (1988) . Evaluations of the nursing performance of staff nurses were done by head nurses utilizing a questionnaire adopted by Park(1988). Data were analysed using percentage distribution, ANOVA, Scheffe test and Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The results are summarized as follows : 1. The majority of the head nurses and staff nurses perceived the head nurse as having a tendency to exercise high level authority and benevolence oriented leadership. 2. The majority of the staff nurses carried out their nursing performance in a highly skilled manner. 3. There were significant differences in perceptions of leadership style between head nurses and staff nurses. 4. “Authority” and “Benevolence” in leadership style as perceived by the head nurses were related very weakly to the nursing performance of the staff nurse. 5. “Benevolence” of leadership style as perceived by the staff nurses was related very weakly to the nursing performance of the staff nurse. 6. Group comparisons of nursing performance and leadership style found that high nursing performance by the staff nurse was related in the group with high “Authority” as perceived by the head nurse and low “Authority” as perceived by the staff nurse. From the above findings, this study suggests the following : 1) Further studies are needed to control extraneous variables. 2) Efforts in leadership development are needed to enhance nursing performance. 3) Factor exploration study are needed to seek factors that contribute to the perception gap between the head nurse and the staff nurse.

2차 병원 신규간호사의 직무스트레스와 자아탄력성이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Job Stress and Ego-Resilience on Nursing Performance New Nurse In Secondary Hospitals)

  • 2차 병원 신규간호사의 직무스트레스와 자아탄력성이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향을 규명하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구대상은 일 지역 6개의 2차 병원에 재직 중인 6개월 이상의 신규간호사 198명으로 편의표집하였고 2016년 2월 10일부터 4월 30일까지 자료수집을 하였다. 연구 결과 대상자의 간호업무성과정도는 높게 나타났고, 직무스트레스 정도와 자아탄력성 정도는 중간 정도로 나타났다. 대상자의 직무스트레스와 간호업무성과는 음의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 대상자의 자아탄력성과 간호업무성과는 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대상자의 간호업무성과 정도에 가장 영향을 미치는 요인은 자아탄력성 정도, 직무스트레스 정도, 간호학을 택한 동기 순이었으며, 전체 설명력은 33.6%이었다. 따라서 2차 병원 신규간호사의 간호업무성과를 향상시키기 위해서는 2차 병원 신규간호사의 직무스트레스를 줄이고 자아탄력성을 증진시키는 프로그램의 개발과 적용이 필요하다고 사료된다.

병원 간호사의 임파워먼트가 간호업무성과, 직무만족, 조직몰입, 이직의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Empowerment on Nursing Performance, Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment, and Turnover Intention in Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of empowerment on nursing performance, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention in hospital nurses. Method: The subjects were 345 nurses at a general hospital in D city. Data were collected by structured questionnaire from January 10 to February 15, 2009. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and Pearson correlation coefficient, multiple regression by SPSS win 17.0 program. Results: The mean scores were 3.60(${\pm}.43$) of empowerment, 3.80(${\pm}.38$) of nursing performance, 3.49(${\pm}.55$) of job satisfaction, 4.70(${\pm}.74$) of organizational commitment, and 2.34(${\pm}.84$) of turnover intention. Empowerment was correlated with nursing performance, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment positively, but correlated with turnover intention negatively. As a result of multiple regression, empowerment has 34.3% of the explanatory power on nursing performance, 24.0% on job satisfaction, 30.7% on organizational commitment, and 15.6% on turnover intention. Conclusion: Empowerment was a critical variable affecting nursing job performance, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover. Also, if various variable - active and adequate child-care support system, provided conditions continue to study, and adequate and appropriate compensation for nursing performance - affecting empowerment are managed, nurses' empowerment level will rise at the same time.

간호사의 조직공정성, 임파워먼트가 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향: 직무만족과 조직몰입의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Impact of Organizational Justice, Empowerment on the Nursing Task Performance of Nurses: Focused on the Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural model on the Nursing Task Performance of Hospital Nurses. Methods: Data collection was done by the 200 hospital nurses from May 1st to May 20th, 2013 in Seoul city. The sample variance-covariance matrix was analyzed using AMOS 19.0 and the maximum likelihood minimization function. The goodness of fit was evaluated using the SRMR, RMSEA and its 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. Results: First, hospital nurses' organizational justice and empowerment was not found to have a significant direct effect on nursing task performance. Second, organizational justice and empowerment had a direct effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Third, organizational commitment was found to have a significant direct effect on nursing task performance. Forth, hospital nurses' empowerment was found to have a significant direct effect on nursing task performance. Conclusion: Nurses' nursing task performance was influenced by organizational justice, empowerment, and organizational commitment. In order to increase the degree of nursing task performance in hospital nurse, it is necessary to develop the nursing program and its application considering hospital nurses' organizational justice and empowerment and organizational commitment.

임상간호사의 전문 간호업무 수행도와 필요도 분석 - 강원도 상급병원 신경외과 영역을 중심으로 (Analysis of the Performance and Need of Professional Nursing Care in Nurses: Focusing on the Department of Neurosurgery in a Tertiary Hospital in Gangwon Province)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the performance and need of professional nursing care among nurses in a neurosurgery department at a tertiary hospital. Methods: This study used a descriptive design using a questionnaire with 77-item. The participants were 58 nurses with more than 3 years of clinical experience in both the neurosurgery intensive care unit and ward at a tertiary hospital in Gangwon province. Data collection was conducted from January to February of 2021. The performance and need for each workforce were analyzed with the mean and standard deviation, and the effectiveness of the difference between the performance and the need were analyzed with a paired t-test using SAS 9.4. Results: The recognition for work performance level was in order of direct nursing activities (3.20±.54), consultation and coordination (3.18±1.15), education (2.55±.85), administration (1.92±.86), and research (1.57±.89). The recognition for need level was in order of consultation and coordination (3.95±.83), education (3.91±.87), direct nursing practice (3.83±.55), research (3.49±.87), and administration (3.45±.54). The results showed a statistically significant differences between work performance and need (p<.001). Conclusion: It is required to hire professional nursing personnel who can bridge the gap between the performance and need of professional nursing workforce in a neurosurgery department at a tertiary hospital. A professional nurse may be a good alternative.

Bayesian Belief Network 활용한 균형성과표 기반 가정간호사업 성과예측모델 구축 및 적용 (Development and Application of a Performance Prediction Model for Home Care Nursing Based on a Balanced Scorecard using the Bayesian Belief Network)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for home care nursing (HCN) based on a balanced scorecard, and to construct a performance prediction model of strategic objectives using the Bayesian Belief Network (BBN). Methods: This methodological study included four steps: establishment of KPIs, performance prediction modeling, development of a performance prediction model using BBN, and simulation of a suggested nursing management strategy. An HCN expert group and a staff group participated. The content validity index was analyzed using STATA 13.0, and BBN was analyzed using HUGIN 8.0. Results: We generated a list of KPIs composed of 4 perspectives, 10 strategic objectives, and 31 KPIs. In the validity test of the performance prediction model, the factor with the greatest variance for increasing profit was maximum cost reduction of HCN services. The factor with the smallest variance for increasing profit was a minimum image improvement for HCN. During sensitivity analysis, the probability of the expert group did not affect the sensitivity. Furthermore, simulation of a 10% image improvement predicted the most effective way to increase profit. Conclusion: KPIs of HCN can estimate financial and non-financial performance. The performance prediction model for HCN will be useful to improve performance.

간호관리학 임상실습에서 과제수행방식이 간호대학생의 의사소통능력에 따라 문제해결능력과 간호역량에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Task Performance Style in Nursing Management Practicum on Problem-Solving and Nursing Competency according to Communication Ability of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine effects of task performance style, communication ability and their interaction on problem-solving ability and nursing competency of nursing students participating in a nursing management practicum. Methods: The study was a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. Participants were 56 fourth year nursing students (25 in the cooperative task group and 31 in the individual task group) and data were collected from March to September 2010. Additionally, two groups were classified based on communication ability of students and four groups were classified by their task performance style and communication ability. Problem-solving ability and nursing competency were measured pre- and post-test and compared between groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS Windows 17.0 program. Results: Neither problem-solving ability and nursing competency were statistically significantly different according to task performance style. Nursing competency was statistically significantly higher in the high communication group compared to the low communication group. Problem-solving ability was significantly different among the four groups classified by task performance style and communication ability. Conclusion: Nursing educators may need to improve students' communication ability to improve nursing competency and also assign different tasks based on communication ability of nursing students to improve problem-solving ability.

간호대학생의 문제해결능력, 자기주도학습능력 및 핵심기본간호술 수행자신감 (Problem-Solving Ability, Self-Directed Learning Ability and Confidence of Core Fundamental Nursing Skill Performance of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was to conducted to search for factors influencing the confidence of core fundamental nursing skill performance (CC) based on comparative analysis, of the relationship between problem solving ability (PS), self-directed learning ability (SL) and CC of nursing students. Methods: This study was conducted based on questionnaires (208) given to senior nursing students. Data were analyzed by the t-test, ANNOVA and Scheffe's test. Moreover, Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical regression were conducted to determine the relationship between items. Results: Proving Solving ability differed significantly in SC. In addition, satisfaction with core fundamental nursing skills (SL) differed significantly by gender, academic performance of last semester, support for nursing, and SC. Moreover, PS was found to have a normal relationship with SL and CC, and SL was found to have a normal relationship with CC. Conclusion: Education strategy should include methods of increasing the PS of student to improve CC in nursing education. Moreover, SL education should be used to increase nursing tasks and effective adaptation to their circumstances as a clinical nurse after graduation.

일반간호사의 조직 내 의사소통 유형과 직무만족 및 간호업무성과의 관계 (Relations Between the Types of Communication and, Job Satisfaction and Nursing Performance in Staff Nurses)

  • This study attempts to investigate the relations between the types of communication, the job satisfaction. and the nursing performance of the staff nurses. The subjects of this study were the 114 nurses working in general wards, intensive care units, and the emergency rooms of the general hospital in Kyongbuk province. They were asked to answer the questionnaires as regards the types of communication and job satisfaction, and their performance of nursing, and these were evaluated by the head nurses, and their direct seniors. The data were collected for 10 days from the September 17 to 26, 2002. According to the purpose of the study, descriptive analysis, ANOVA. Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were applied for the data analysis using SPSS 10.0. The results are as follows : 1. The types of communication of staff nurses showed that the upward communication was $3.12\pm0.56$. the downward communication was $3.56\pm0.42$. the horizontal communication was $2.98\pm0.44$. and the informal communication was $2.59\pm0.49$. It showed that the most frequent communication was the downward communication. 2. In terms of the job satisfaction, there was significant difference according to the length of the period working for one ward (F=5.95, p=0.003), 3. The performance of nursing was significantly different according to the age (F=23.52, p=0.000), the working duration as a nurses (F=21.9, p=0.000), the types of nursing unit (F=5.33, p=0.002), and the working duration in present nursing unit (F=15.87, p=0.000). 4. In terms of communication type, the job satisfaction was associated with quality of the upward communication (F=6.23, p=0.003), the downward communication (F=5.78, p=0.004), and the horizontal communication (F=11.73, p=0.000) There were no association between the types of communication and the performance of nursing. 5. There was a positive correlation between the communication and the job satisfaction. And the downward communication (r=0.398) showed the greatest correlation with the job satisfaction. There was no statistically significant correlation between the communication and the performance of nursing. And the upward communication (r=-0.058) showed a negative, though not significant correlation with performance of nursing. 5. There was a positive correlation between the communication and the job satisfaction. And the downward communication (r=0.398) showed the greatest correlation with the job satisfaction. 대학병원 병동간호사의 노인섬망 간호수행에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing the Nursing Performance of Delirium in Elderly Patients among Ward Nurses at a University Hospital)

  • Purpose: This research aims to identify the relationship between the knowledge of delirium in elderly patients, nursing stress of delirium in elderly patients, emotional intelligence, and nursing performance of delirium in elderly patients among word nurses at a university hospital. Method: Data were collected from September 28 to October 13, 2020, by distributing questionnaires to 185 ward nurses at a university hospital located in city D. A data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, a t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficients, and a multiple regression analysis. Results: Nursing performance of delirium in elderly patients showed statistically significant differences according to nursing experience with these patients. Nurses' knowledge of delirium in elderly patients had a statistically significant positive correlation with emotional intelligence and nursing performance of delirium in elderly patients. Also, nurses' emotional intelligence had a statistically positive correlation with nursing performance of delirium in elderly patients. The factors that significantly affected nursing performance delirium in elderly patients were emotional intelligence and knowledge of delirium in elderly patients. The total explanatory power of the regression model was 12.5%. Conclusion: For nursing performance of delirium in elderly patients by ward nurses, it is necessary to develop a geriatric delirium nursing education program that can improve the knowledge of delirium in elderly patients. In addition, guidelines in consideration of the emotional intelligence of nurses should be included in the development of educational programs.
