  • A theoretical heat-flow model incorporating with a constant moving CO$_{2}$ laser beam has been analyzed to predict depth and the shape of bead section during last beam welding. The laser beam is exponentially attenuated with an abosrption coefficient in the material. The solution can be expressed in terms of normalized variables. The experimental data were generated by usint CW 2 CO$_{2}$ laser with multi beam mode and CW 3 kW CO$_{2}$laser with Gaussian mode. The specimens were made as bead-on-plate welds for SM 10C, STS 304, STS 316, STS 420 and pure Nickel. The maximum possible penetration depth and the shape of beas section for given sources of laser power, travel speed and beam spot size can be prdicted with this model in a given material.

  • The acoustical performance of porous materials is determined by their seven or more macroscopic physical properties. However, it is not easy to measure all these properties in many cases. Furthermore, the measurement is compels engineers to spend much times. The effect of each property on the normal incidence absorption coefficient and normalized surface impedance was studied to estimate the properties of porous materials by numerical method. According to the investigation, Properties of porous materials are divided into several groups and estimated by each group. This paper is focused on the estimation procedure of porous materials by the numerical method.

  • The main object of this paper is to introduce and investigate new subclasses of normalized analytic functions in the open unit disc $\mathbb{U}$, which generalize the familiar class of k-starlike functions. The various properties and characteristics for functions belonging to these classes derived here include (for example) coefficient inequalities, distortion theorems involving fractional calculus, extreme points, integral operators and integral means inequalities.

  • In this paper, the output error variance due to the differential vcariation of the state-space coefficient [ABCD], which is the coefficient quentization error, is normalized on the variance for cases that infinite wordlength state-space digital filter is realized by the finite one. That is, defining S as the statistical sensitivity and extending controllability gramian, observability gramian, and 2nd order mode analysis method to the state space digital filter, we synthesize the realization structure with the minimum statistical sensitivity and prove the effecency of the minimum statistical sensitivity structure synthesis by the simulation.

  • In order to investigate the characteristics of flow around the intake around the intake valve exit, discharge coefficient and the velocity near the valve exit in steady state were measured using X-type hot-wire. Valve and valve seat insert used in experiment were constructed as the same shape of production engine and the flow characteristics at various flow rates and valve lifts were investigated. From the results of discharge coefficient measurements, it is observed that there exists a similarity between the flow characteristics around the production engine valve and the typical poppet valve. Measurement of the velocity at the valve exit shows that the normalized radial velocity between the primary direction of flow and the valve angle is large, but the difference becomes smaller as the flow rate increases.

  • Under the condition of a common narrowband target signal and interference signals from several directions, the linearly constrained minimum variance (LCMV) method using the generalized sidelobe canceller (GSC) for adaptive beamforming has been exploited successfully However, in the case of wideband signals, the length of the adaptive filter must be extended. As a result, the complexity of the beamformer increases, which makes real-time implementation difficult. In this paper, we improve the convergence characteristics of the adaptive filter using the transform domain normalized least mean square (NLMS) approach based on the subband GSC structure without the increase of complexity. Besides, the M-MAX algorithm, which is one of various selective coefficient updating methods, is employed in order to remarkably reduce the computational cost without decreasing the convergence quality. With the combination of these methods, we propose a computationally efficient wideband adaptive beamformer and verify its efficiency through a series of simulations.

  • In this paper, the condensation method which is based on the Rayleigh-Ritz method, is described for the free vibration analysis of axially loaded slightly curved beams subject to partial axial restraints. If the longitudinal inertia is neglected, some of the Rayleigh-Ritz minimization equations are independent of the frequency. These equations can be used to formulate a relationship between the weighting coefficients associated with the lateral and longitudinal displacements, which leads to "connection coefficient matrix". Once this matrix is formed, it is then substituted into the remaining Rayleigh-Ritz equations to obtain an eigenvalue equation with a reduced matrix size. This method has been applied to simply supported and partially clamped beams with three different shapes of imperfection. The results indicate that for small imperfections resembling the fundamental vibration mode, the sum of the square of the fundamental natural and a non-dimensional axial load ratio normalized with respect to the fundamental critical load is approximately proportional to the square of the central displacement.

  • In the present paper, we introduce and investigate two new subclasses, namely; the class of strongly ${\alpha}$-bi-spirallike functions of order ${\beta}$ and ${\alpha}$-bi-spirallike functions of order ${\rho}$, of the function class ${\Sigma};$ of normalized analytic and bi-univalent functions in the open unit disk $$U=\{z:z{\in}C\;and\;{\mid}z{\mid}<1\}$$. We find estimates on the coefficients ${\mid}a_2{\mid}$, ${\mid}a_3{\mid}$ and ${\mid}a_4{\mid}$ for functions in these two subclasses.

  • In this paper, we have introduced a generalized class SiH (m, n, 𝛾, 𝜙, 𝜓; 𝛼), i ∈ {0, 1} of harmonic univalent functions in unit disc 𝕌, a sufficient coefficient condition for the normalized harmonic function in this class is obtained. It is also shown that this coefficient condition is necessary for its subclass 𝒯 SiH (m, n, 𝛾, 𝜙, 𝜓; 𝛼). We further obtained extreme points, bounds and a covering result for the class 𝒯 SiH (m, n, 𝛾, 𝜙, 𝜓; 𝛼). Also, show that this class is closed under convolution and convex combination. While proving our results, certain conditions related to the coefficients of 𝜙 and 𝜓 are considered, which lead to various well-known results.

  • In this article, by making use of the λ-pseudo-starlike functions, we introduce a certain family of normalized analytic functions in the open unit disk U and we establish coefficient estimates for the first four determinants of the Toeplitz matrices T2(2), T2(3), T3(2) and T3(1) for the functions belonging to this family. Further, some known and new results which follow as special cases of our results are also mentioned.
