Under the paradigm of sustainable green growth at the national level, various researches and applications for energy saving in the construction field has been attempted. As a part of energy saving efforts, lightweight concrete was investigated for thermal insulation concrete with phase change material (PCM) which has high heat storage capacity. As a part of energy saving efforts, thermal insulation concrete was investigated and evaluated with lightweight aggregate impregnated by PCM which has high heat storage capacity. As a result, it is found that concrete with lightweight aggregate impregnated by PCM is effective to prevent its quality deterioration by reducing water absorption rate of lightweight aggregate. In addition, it has shown that concretes using lightweight aggregate and impregnated lightweight aggregate improve heat insulation property 33% and 40~43% compared with using normal aggregate, respectively. It is that the lightweight aggregate concrete with impregnated lightweight aggregate has 12~14% lower thermal conductivity than unimpregnated.

This study is a fundamental research in order to establish the design code of recycled aggregate concrete structure. The structural properties of recycled aggregate concrete such as flexure, shear, fatigue, compression, and bond development are experimentally investigated and confirmed. In this study, laboratory-scale reinforced concrete beam, column, and pull-out test specimens using recycled coarse aggregate are manufactured. Then, the structural performances of recycled aggregate concrete according to replacement ratios of recycled coarse aggregate are evaluated. Also, finite element analysis using commercial code DIANA is carried out to predict the test results and the analysis results are compared with test results in this study. Structural test results showed that the structural performances of recycled aggregate concrete specimens with 60% replacement ratio are reduced by approximately 15-20%. These results indicated that the replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate within 30% is a suitable to use for structural members. The results of finite element analysis showed that the specimens with 30% replacement ratio possessed similar or more excellent structural performance than normal concrete specimens. However, recycled aggregate concrete with 60% replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate must be carefully considered for structural applications due to significant decrease of the failure loads.

Flat-slabs, being a significant structural component, not only reduce the dead load of the structure but also reduce the amount of concrete required for construction. Moreover the use of recycled aggregates lowers the impact of large scale construction to nearby ecosystems. Recycled aggregate based concrete being a quasi-brittle material shows enormous cracking during failure. Crack growth in flat-slabs is mostly in sliding mode (Mode II). Therefore sufficient sections need to be provided for resistance against such failure modes. The main objective of the paper is to numerically determine the ultimate load carrying capacity of two self-similar flat-slab specimens and validate the results experimentally for the natural aggregate as well as recycled aggregate based concrete. Punching shear experiments are carried out on circular flat-slab specimen on a rigid circular knife-edge support built out of both normal (NAC) and recycled aggregate concrete (RAC, with full replacement). Uniaxial compression and bending tests have been conducted on cubes, cylinders and prisms using both types of concrete (NAC and RAC) for its material characterization and use in the numerical scheme. The numerical simulations have been conducted in ABAQUS (a known finite element software package). Eight noded solid elements have been used to model the flat slab and material properties have been considered from experimental tests. The inbuilt Concrete Damaged Plasticity model of ABAQUS has been used to monitor crack propagation in the specimen during numerical simulations.

Structural light weight aggregate concrete are made with both coarse and fine light weight aggregates, but it is common with the high strength concrete to replace all or part with normal weight sand be called class 1 structural light weight aggregate concrete. Fire resistance of structural light weight aggregate concrete are determined by properties of high water content ratio and explosive spalling. Especially, structural light weight aggregate concrete is occurred serious fire performance deterioration by explosive spalling stem from thermal stress and water vapor pressure. This study is concerned with experimentally investigating fire resistance of class 1 structural light weight concrete. From the test result, class 1 structural light weight concrete is happened explosive spalling. The decrease of cross section caused by explosive spalling made sharp increasing gradient of inner temperature.
This study aimed at exploring the effect of presoaking degree of lightweight aggregate (LWA) on the fresh and hardened properties of concrete. Two series (i.e., Series A and Series B) of concrete mixes that were made of LWA with different moisture states were prepared. The presoaking degree of LWA was divided into three types: oven dry state, 1 hour prewetted and 24 hours prewetted. For the Series A, the water content of the lightweight aggregate concrete (LWAC) mixes was adjusted in accordance with the moisture condition of the LWA. Whereas the amount of water added in the Series B mixes was deliberately not adjusted for the moisture condition of the LWA. Slump test, mechanical tests, interfacial transition zone microscopical tests and thermal conductivity test were carried out on the specimens of different concretes and compared with control normal-weight aggregate concretes. The test results showed that the effect of mixing water absorption by LWA with different moisture states was reflected in the fresh concrete as the loss of mixture workability, while in the hardened concrete as the increase of its strength. With the use of oven-dried LWA, the effect of reduction of water-cement ratio was more significant, and thus the microstructure of the ITZ was more compact.
This study uses recycled green building materials based on a Taiwan-made recycled mineral admixture (including fly ash, slag, glass sand and rubber powder) as replacements for fine aggregates in concrete and tests the properties of the resulting mixtures. Fine aggregate contents of 5% and 10% were replaced by waste LCD glass sand and waste tire rubber powder, respectively. According to ACI concrete-mixture design, the above materials were mixed into lightweight aggregate concrete at a constant water-to-binder ratio (W/B = 0.4). Hardening (mechanical), non-destructive and durability tests were then performed at curing ages of 7, 28, 56 and 91 days and the engineering properties were studied. The results of these experiments showed that, although they vary with the type of recycling green building material added, the slumps of these admixtures meet design requirements. Lightweight aggregate yields better hardened properties than normal-weight concrete, indicating that green building materials can be successfully applied in lightweight aggregate concrete, enabling an increase in the use of green building materials, the improved utilization of waste resources, and environmental protection. In addition to representing an important part of a "sustainable cycle of development", green building materials represent a beneficial reutilization of waste resources.

In this study, the characteristics of recycled aggregate concrete according to the mixing ratio of recycled fine aggregate were analyzed by design strength to explore its use in the production of ready-mixed concrete. The results show that, depending on the ratio of recycled aggregate, the compressive strength is similar to that of normal concrete and does not deteriorate. Therefore, it is possible to achieve a strength similar to the target design strength. Furthermore, if the ratio of recycled fine aggregate for concrete is up to 25 % of the total aggregate amount (50 % of the to-tal fine aggregate), slump does not cause problems. Our findings show that the higher the de-sign standard strength, the greater the amount of powder, and management of slump reduction, unit quantity, and performance system is necessary. The obtained results show that recycled ag-gregate can be used for the production of ready-mixed concrete after adjusting its mixing ratio and concrete mix proportions.
Regenerative endodontic procedure (REP) is a treatment option to replace damaged pulp tissue with the viable tissue which restores the normal function of the pulp-dentin complex. Possible reason for doing REP is not clearly known, however, clinicians perform REP in order to recover the histological structure as well as function of the traumatized and diseased tooth so that this tooth can restore its original root shape and thickness. This REP can be explained by the concept of revascularization or revitalization after induction of blood clot formation in the canal space. For this purpose, several treatment strategies have been suggested. In this regard, the rationale for the application of triantibiotics, calcium hydroxide or mineral trioxide aggregate is discussed in this paper. As a result, we will try to find the best method for REP by reviewing each available technique and their advantages and disadvantages.

Due to recent demolition works of aged concrete bridges and buildings, a considerable amount of waste concrete material have been reclaimed without crushing works. It is well believed that waste concrete could be used for recycling good coarse aggregate, which could contribute to partly reduce environmental pollutions due to noise and dust by demolition works, and also to solve the shortage of natural aggregate for new concrete works. This experimental study is to investigate the flexural and shear behaviour of recycling RC beams with pertinent amount of recycling coarse aggregate, such as 30%, 50% and 100% of total aggregate volume. It is concluded from the test that structural behaviour of recycled concrete is determined to have similar behaviour of normal concrete.
