Nonparametric Tests for Grouped K-Sample Problem

  • We propose a nonparametric test procedure for the K-sample problem with grouped data. We construct the test statistics using the scores derived for the linear model based on likelihood ratio principle and obtain asymptotic distribution. Also we illustrate our procedure with an example. Finally we discuss some concluding remarks.

  • We consider a nonparametric test procedure for the multi-sample problem with grouped data. We construct the test statistics based on the scores obtained from the likelihood ratio principle and derive the limiting distribution under the null hypothesis. Also we illustrate our procedure with an example and obtain the asymptotic properties under the Pitman translation alternatives. Also we discuss some concluding remarks. Finally we derive the covariance between components in the Appendix.

  • In this paper, we formulate multivariate one-sided alternatives and propose a class of nonparametric tests for possibly right censored data. We obtain the asymptotic tail probability (or p-value) by showing that our proposed test statistics have asymptotically multivariate normal distributions. Also, we illustrate our procedure with an example and compare it with other procedures in terms of empirical powers for the bivariate case. Finally, we discuss some properties of our test.

  • One proposal is made to construct a nonparametric estimator of slope parameters in a regression model under symmetric error distributions. This estimator is based on the use of the idea of minimizing approximate variance of a proposed estimator using regression quantiles. This nonparametric estimator and some other L-estimators are studied and compared with well known M-estimators through a simulation study.

  • In this paper, we propose some nonparametric subset selection procedures for scale parameters based on rank-likes. The proposed procedures are compared to the Gupta-Sobel's parametric prcedure through a small-sample Monte Carlo study. The results show that the nonparametric procedures are quite robust for heavy-tailed distributions, but they have somewhat low efficiencies.

  • 지역 또는 도메인에 작은 크기의 표본이 배정되어 추정의 정도가 나쁜 경우에 사용되는 준모수적 또는 비모수적 소지역 추정법은 최근 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 커널을 이용한 국소다항 혼합모형 소지역 추정법과 벌점 스플라인을 이용한 혼합모형 소지역 추정법이 연구되었다. 이 두 방법과 소지역추정에 흔히 사용되고 있는 선형 혼합모형을 모의실험을 통해 그 우수성을 비교하였다.

  • It is demonstrated that many standard nonparametric test such as the Mann-Whitney-Wilcoxon test, the Fisher-Yates test, the Savage test and the median test are admissible for a two-sample nonparametric testing problem. The admissibility of the Kruskal-Wallis test is demonstrated for a nonparametric one-way layout testing problem.

  • A nonparametric test for testing the parallelism of regression lines against ordered alternatives is proposed. The proposed test statistic is based on a linear combination of robust slope estimators. It is a modified version of the Adichie's test statistics based on scores. A snail-sample Monte Carlo study shows that the proposed test is compatible with the Adichie's test.

  • In this paper a nonparametric method is proposed for detecting conditionally heteroscedastic errors in a nonparametric time series regression model where the observation points are equally spaced on [0,1]. It turns out that the first-order sample autocorrelation of the squared residuals from the kernel regression estimates provides essential information. Illustrative simulation study is presented for diverse errors such as ARCH(1), GARCH(1,1) and threshold-ARCH(1) models.

  • In this paper, we summarize some relative risk estimators under the two sample model with proportional hazard and examine the relative efficiencies of the nonparametric estimators relative to the maximum likelihood estimator of a parametric survival function under random censoring model by comparing their asymptotic variances.
